Come on Lesta!!!

Our record recently against Preston isn't great.

One win, two defeats, and one draw in our previous four meetings, but the solitary win did come at Deepdale.

NP may tinker with his team to give some of his stars a rest for this one. I think we will see Gradel, Tunchev and maybe even Chrissy Powell in action.

I said i wouldn't be fussed if we went out of this but now my opinion has changed, it would be very nice to keep the winning momentum going, and leave us in a good mind set for the trip to Newcastle which could see us leapfrog them in the table.

If we haven't already shown the other clubs we are serious about a top 10/playoff challenge at least, we could further stamp our authority on the Championship with a win at St James's Park.

But first we face the tricky away tie at Preston, who have also started the Championship season very well, amassing 8 points from 4 games like ourselves. And will be looking to repeat their playoff place triumph last season.

Our defence looked slightly uncomfortable at times in my view against Barnsley, if they give Preston time and space in our box then former Liverpool one goal wonder Neil Mellor could be on hand to knock it in, having already scored 3 goals this season.

We have seen some classic cup matches in recent years, losing at Chelsea and Fulham 4-3, beating Tottenham 3-2 from 2-0 down, winning at Forest and Villa to name a few, so we don't want any cup run to end. And we would all  to somehow repeat our triumphant cup wins.

I predict a tight affair and there may only be a goal in it.

I think NP has really got us going well this year though and we will steal a 3rd round place with a 1-0 victory courtesy of Paul Gallagher :scarf:

1-1 draw with Gallagher scoring his debut goal.

Weale to put in an heroic performance in a penalty shootout as we get Chelsea away in the third round.

You heard it here first.

Lose. We didn't seem to give a shit against Rotherham last season and I cannot see this competition being especially high on our list of priorities this season either.

Yes, Pearson likes to make a habit of winning but we have a relatively small squad and with our aim being so clearly to get into the Premiership, I can only see this competition being a hindrance.

Had we not already suffered injuries to two key players it might not have been so bad but sustaining even more injuries in a relatively pointless game could be calamitous.

I could see people like Gradel and King getting proper run outs and perhaps even Campbell though I wouldn't bet one penny on that.

Luke O'Neill and Morrison will surely get games and the game will offer Tunchev further chance to continue his comeback. But we could sure do without another main striker getting hurt.

I'm going because everyone loves me and it's one I can actually afford before I go back to uni, actually. <_<

I don't see us winning this one - and I don't really care.

We're playing Preston, fantastic, so what.

This should be treated as a improving match fitness game. Give everyone a game who hasn't figured yet.

The Tunch should DEFINATELY play in this game.
