I'm happy, but like always you always want more, you always want better, but I never expected to be where we are now back in pre-season.

As I said i'm happy and I can't really complain but if only we would have won on Tuesday or yesterday and I could have no complaints whatsoever, I feel we should, could and needed to win 1 of the two matches, in hindsind both. :giggle:

But I don't think anyone has grounds to complain or slag the team off.

the thing is with this forum sometimes, if our midfield score the goals, you moan about the strikers and vice versa.

anyway, im pleased with the start. Everybody apart from west brom, at the minute, have their faults and bad results.

the good thing to take from this season so far is that we are hard to beat and teams are recognising this, we arent just rolling over and playing the 'newly promoted side' we are holding our own!

Happy but a little frustrated...

Swansea, Blackpool, Barnsley all good wins, Dissapointed with the Peterboro game.

Sheff Utd was a very good point, as was Ipswich, frustrated with Watford and Newcastle(I left St James thinking we were marginally the better side) and we should have taken at least 4 points off those two.

Impressed by Wellens, Fryatt, Hobbs, Berner...

Not sure about N'Guessan, Brown (only suits certain games).

Ready for the bench....Neilson, decidedly average like the majority of post jock wallace scots... (Morrison was fine against Swansea too), Howard (1 assist, no goals - would we accept this from Waggy? Kermogant? DJ?!)

Would like to see more of....Tunchev, Gallagher in a central strikers role and Gradel given a chance at least.

I'd never have expected us to start this way, so I'm very pleased personally. It'd be nice to kick on from here and turn a few of these draws into wins though, that's where the business will be decided.

agree - pleased but wanting us to build on our start...

Anyone that's unhappy with the start to the season is a moron.

We should be top.

AND clear by atleast 16 points.

Annoyed with the dropped points.

We should have won at Watford obviously from 2-0 up at half time, thats 2 points wasted.

We could have won at Ipswich and Sheffield United, and were unlucky.

Had Fryatt scored his one on one in 1st half at Newcastle we could have got something.

We haven't really scraped any of our points, infact looking at all the games and the way we played and the way it went, 13 points is pretty much the minimum we should get from those games.

Regardless of views pre-season of where i want us to finish, taking every game as it comes and treating each one individually like the players should, we should have at least 2 more points in my view.

I would say we have been very unlucky to only have 13 points so far, and could quite easily have 17+

Lets just hope we can get the momentum going again and beat Preston Saturday, and make sure we play well for the full 90.

I am happy with the start but we should have more points.

I would have said I was pleased... but I don't agree that it's the best we could have expected so far. We COULD have been higher up the league with a little more care.

So what I chose was that I was a bit frustrated with the loss of some valuable points recently. I certainly feel that we could have taken the 3 points against both Watford and Peterborough but hey ho, it's been a decent start... let's hope we can keep it up and perhaps turn some of these draws turn into wins!

Probably the best sum up in this thread!

I'm very happy, of course there are things that need improving. But anyone not expecting us to have some problems need a reality check. We have come so far so quickly already, I don't know what some expect.

What I expect is simple.

We have shown, in spells of 40-45 minutes (most recently on saturday) that we are a good side who can compete with the best in this league.

However there remains the glaring inconsistency, both within games and game to game, that to me smacks of a lack of preparation and organisation. This is something that can and should be fixed.

Similarly even when we are well on top the Howard/Fryatt partnership is not delivering. Sure Matty is playing very well and has an excellent scoring record but unlike some on this forum I believe that at this time it is despite the presence of Howard, not because of it! We need to try some options.

I would definitely have taken this at the start of the season. However, considering how we've been playing, it's slightly disappointing that we're not a little higher in the table. With 38 games remaining, anything is possible. You never know, with a bit more luck and some good finishing, it could turn out to be a very successful season.

Totally agree

Sorry Lou, nothing personal.

Just reflects my experience (in all things) that if you accept average then, more likely than not, average is what you get.

Taking the field at Championship level with a team whose players have no idea what position or formation they are supposed to be playing is simply not acceptable.

This happened to us twice on saturday.

At the start of the season I thought that we would struggle to compete against the top teams, but after decent performances I have been left frustrated with several games. Watford was poor from the position we were in, we were unlucky not to win at Sheff Utd imo, we should have beaten Ipswich etc. However, imo the expectation levels have been raised due to this decent start, i just hope that these defensive errors are minimised in the upcoming games.

totally agree we have had a great start but we have dropped a few points that we should not have done which is a shame but if we end in or around the play offs it surely will be a great season & as long as finish above cov i will be pleased

I suppose it depends on individuals expectations and personalities.... Im just a glass half full kind of person lol

I honestly thought wed struggle big time in this division and am pleasantly surprised at our current position. Im also enjoying my football which is the main thing for me.

I was there on Saturday and yes, disappointed not to pick up all 3 points but I give credit to Watford and the way they came back at us not just the errors in our tactics. I enjoyed the day though so cant be too despondant. I took away a lot of positives from the 1st half and from the way we got back right at the end thats all.

I dont think we have the perfect team by a long shot, dont get me wrong. :)

Far better than i could of imagined personally. If we finish mid-table then thats a solid foundation to build on for next season.

Were not ready for Prem footaball yet.
