AjcW Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Made me feel sick seeing him play for those scummers. I had this. Especially when it looked like he had played for them for years.
Mark Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 This is the flair we have been missing all season. Get him back Nige! What a catastrophe, very dissapointed in Pearson. (unless the plan is he comes back into our team after the month but I'd be surprised now) How come a Leicester City team can never handle these types of players no matter who is in charge? It's always the same. We had 3 players last season who when they had the ball, it created a buzz around the stadium. Admittedly, two were on loan (Davies, Cleverley), but now we have none. None of Pearson's Summer signings are on that same level, they are workhorses but you clearly need other options and its about time we started to change our approach to games in this league.
marbelladave Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Gradel was given a free role off the main strikers, an attacking position. None of our creative / attacking players, Dyer, N'Guessan, Gallagher etc are allowed anything like that freedom to play and Adams Yanni and Gradel barely got a game between them. In our system they are all given substantial defensive duties that limits their ability to create anything in attack so they have few if any opportunities to change the game. In the 12 /14 minutes Gradel was on the field he created more for Leeds than Dyer manages in a whole game for us. This is not a reflection on Dyer, he does well considering the role he has to play, but a sad coment on our lack of ambition!
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 It guts me to see the kind of impact sub we are cryin out for doing it for another team bye bye maxi
StanSP Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 I'm gutted he's gone, but if he's getting first team footy and improving as a player, then there's not much we can moan about. yeah it's scummy leeds, but if we benefit from it in the long term, it should be alright.
marbelladave Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 He'll be back in a month And still won't get a game...... :frusty:
maddog Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 He will be back in a few weeks 100% match sharp and ready, maybe then Pearson may actually pick him. But when you look at how Adams can't get a game at all and N'Guessan's missed the last few and Pearson continues to play Matt Oakley there who doesn't actually play there leaving us with no right winger at all, it baffles me. Pearson definitely at times can be a complete Ollie like idiot with his selections. Like i've said before, if Pearson plays everyone in their respective positions his tactics probably wouldn't be questioned as much, but when he plays players not in their respective positions when someone like Adams, Gradel and even N' Guessan recently can't get a game. If it all goes pear shaped when players aren't in their positions, then that will be the first thing highlighted as the reason for a defeat, Pearson just seems to be consistently shooting himself in the foot with this. Adams has been our best performer this season when he's played, yet however fantastic he was in those cameos can't get a game. The right wing situation is just utter madness.

Gradel turned the game tonight. Who's to say he couldn't have done so on Saturday if he'd been given the chance?
maddog Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 We all thought pre-season we had 3 top right wingers. N'Guessan an exciting attack minded top performer from League Two. Gradel who's very talented. And Adams who really seems to have toughened up for this season. Now ones out on loan, one can't get on the bench and one can't get off the bench. And Matt Oakley or Gallagher play there when they just fooking can't because their not right wingers. Crazy.
Tilley Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 I don't blame Max for going and I wouldn't blame him for leaving for good either. He got messed around with last season and was behind Paul fucking Dickov for a right wing position to begin with. This season he is behind a central midfielder and a striker for a right wing position which I find completely ridiculous. It'd be understandable if Adams or N'Guessan were getting in ahead of Gradel but they're not, it's either Gallagher or Oakley. I wish Pearson would play players in their positions.
Maybes Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 League one is a lower standard of league compared to the championship. Steve Howard was made to look like God, Matty Fryatt a young Michael Owen. Lloyd Dyer tearing defences to peices with his one foot wonder etc etc. Now Im not saying Max wouldn't be a good asset for us to have in the championship, but lets get a little realism in here. A good 15minutes in a title challenging Leeds side and everyone is jizzing themselves. Anyone remember Fulham away in the cup when he was amazing and the Premier League teams started sniffing around......they soon disappeared after a few average games for us in league one.
AjcW Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Interesting to see how long it takes before get maxi back is chanted.
Ozwin Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Wait, wtf!? I'm gone for a day and we find out he's gone to Leeds? I'm not happy with this at all. Interesting to see how long it takes before get maxi back is chanted. TOMMOROW!
MPH Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 cant blame him for celebrating... must be nice for him to feel like he is part of a team...
Ozwin Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Anyone reckon he's pissed Pearson off in some way? I dunno, just seems weird that he was a pretty vital player for our promotion push and all of a sudden he's dropped and hasn't played a game all season.
BoneDog Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Thought Max looked very lively when he came on last night. He seemed to be everywhere and getting onto most balls that went forward. Nearly scored aswell but just didn't quite connect and the keeper saved. And he was up against a good Norwich side. He better be coming back I tell thee.

For goodness sake, stop being so level headed. Why can't you over react and use it as another excuse to moan at Pearson Like the other usual suspects!!!
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Gradel was given a free role off the main strikers, an attacking position.None of our creative / attacking players, Dyer, N'Guessan, Gallagher etc are allowed anything like that freedom to play and Adams Yanni and Gradel barely got a game between them. This is not a reflection on Dyer, he does well considering the role he has to play, but a sad coment on our lack of ambition! We did play 45 mins this season with Gallagher in a free role - first half v Watford - arguably our best 45 mins of the season. I had not been especially impressed with Gallagher up to that point, but he was very influential in that position and set up Fryatt for one of the goals. I think Pearson wants to play wingers but either his tactics, their loss of form or the way the opposition line up against it means that it isn't quite working for us when it comes to attacking. It may stem partly from having Howard as a fixture in the side - the natural tendency is to think we have a big man, we need people to cross to him. In theory, with Dyer, Gradel and N'Guessan available you have some potentially good wingers to do that. But if the system's not working (maybe because the opposition work harder to cut off supply lines to Howard) then we need to adapt. I'd like to see the three-man central midfield of Wellens, Oakley and King backing up Gallagher in a free role behind Fryatt and maybe Waghorn or Kermo.

Agreed on both, it's a ridiculous situation. Pearson doesn't seem to have a clue on the right-wing position. This is where we pay the price for having a manager who used to be a centre-half. He's sorted the defence brilliantly, but attacking wise we've got very little.

We were decent enough first half against Watford but Watford were absolutely terrible and very nearly kicked our asses after the break. No, the key to that game was the passing of our midfield trio and Watford, as the home team, playing an open attacking game. Against Derby we had just as much possession but Derby were much more defensive minded and strangled our strikers with ease, playing Gallagher in the hole would not have changed that at all. In fact our biggest threat was Dyer, the only player we had with any pace. A three man midfield by all means, but if you play Gallagher he needs to be further forward than at Vicarage road and flanked by players with real pace, any two from Dyer, N'Guessan, Waghorn or Gradel (eventually).
Babylon Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 I would love one day to see DJ, Gradel and N'Guessan come off the bench and rip a team a new arse hole.
marbelladave Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 I would love one day to see DJ, Gradel and N'Guessan come off the bench and rip a team a new arse hole. Now you are just being silly.....
Babylon Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Thracians player ratings I'm confused, you state his signings are average/ordinary, yet you also keep telling us that Pearson's not getting the best out of players and if he was we would be 6 points (if not more) better off. That would take us top of the league... if they are so ordinary how can that be the case?
