Simi Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 The one problem I see with this move is that it's Leeds. From the sounds of things, he's already settled in well and at a club like Leeds it's easy for that place to start feeling like home when the fans take to you and you're playing in front of 20k+ week in week out. My worry is he settles in there and doesn't see a need to return.
StanSP Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 He's Gone to Leeds on a Month long Loan What?!?!!?

Thracian Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 I'm confused, you state his signings are average/ordinary, yet you also keep telling us that Pearson's not getting the best out of players and if he was we would be 6 points (if not more) better off. That would take us top of the league... if they are so ordinary how can that be the case? We haven't got the six points, or perhaps even eight. Are you somehow telling me that N'Guessan, Gallagher, Neilson, Waghorn, Morrison, Kermorgant, Ajdarevic etc look better than ordinary?
marbelladave Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Exactly my reservation about it. We have made it pretty damn clear that we don't want him so it is hardly surprising that he is working hard to show what he can do elsewhere. If he gets game time and plays well, he puts himself in the shop window, if Leeds don't take him, someone else will. Bye, Bye, Maxi.......what a waste!
Thracian Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 The referee blows for full time.90 Leeds just have the edge. Key player: Max Gradel 90 Norwich freekick taken by Fraser Forster 90 Leeds corner from the Left taken by Bradley Johnson 90 Grant Holt (Norwich) booked for unsporting behaviour 90 Leeds throw-in taken by Jason Crowe 90 Goal scored by Jermaine Beckford (Leeds) this is from sporting life text commentary It's early days but if Gradel has gone somewhere he's appreciated and not overlooked because Pearson wants to accommodate his Chosen Men the lad will only blossom. It is utterly stupid that we should choose not to use the ability of a guy who even senior players believe to be the most skilllful we've got. Not only that but he's an efforvescent presence, the sort of continuies to try things and to lift the spirits ona gloomy afternoon when we're just plodding along in our usual predictable way. I remember when Holloway chose not to use King. It was his daftest mistake and I wouldn't be surprised if this proves to be the same for Pearson.

We've got Oakley, N'Guessan, Gallagher and Morrison who can fill in over there. It's almost like the Stephen Hughes option that Kelly so enjoyed!

I had forgotten about Morrison, he will make the perfect right winger, solid in defense gets forward a bit, can't cross to save his life, just the job.
Joe. Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Jesus christ. He's played just over 10 minutes of first team football with Leeds and we're already resigning ourselves to losing him? Knowitall's already stated clearly that Pearson is still a fan of Gradel, and didn't even want him to leave on loan in the first place. Gradel needed to go out on loan again to prove to Pearson that he can seriously cut it for us in this division. If that means going out on loan to a good League One side then so be it. If he does well it should work in our advantage if anything, and he may come back a better player if he keeps on getting the opportunities there. Let's just see how he fares for a few matches instead of getting worked up over 10 minutes of football...

Are you somehow telling me that N'Guessan, Gallagher, Neilson, Waghorn, Morrison, Kermorgant, Ajdarevic etc look better than ordinary? I'm aware we don't have the points, I'm not suggesting anything about the players. You're the one who keeps saying it's Pearsons fault we aren't doing better, and that it's down to the fact he isn't getting the best from the players. Yet you then call the same players you think should be top ordinary. I'm well aware we have some ordinary players in the squad (mostly assembled on free transfers), that's why I don't think we'd be top if Pearson was better tactically.... you do. You can't have it both ways, either Pearson has the players and isn't using them correctly or the players he has signed aren't good enough.
J.Lisemore Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Thought he should of at least had a chance to impress this season.
StanSP Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Thought he should of at least had a chance to impress this season. He still can. He's only on loan a Leeds for a month.

Let's just see how he fares for a few matches instead of getting worked up over 10 minutes of football... You're missing the point completely! It is not about how well he did in those few minutes, it was that he was given the chance to play a creative role largely without inhibition and the standard City practice of putting you're defensive responsibilities first! Something that none of our creative players have been allowed to do all season. (Gallagher for 45 minutes at Watford is the nearest, but even then he was required to be as much a midfield player as a creative forward)
Uncle Albert Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 He is only 21 years old for christ sake. A month's loan is nothing - maybe he has gone to Leeds for some valuable match fitness and sharpness. I didnt know until now that the loan was only a month so I can see Gradel coming back hopefully straight away and pushing to get in the side.

Except that Leeds are a bigger club and next season will be at the same level as us. If you were Gradel, where would you want to be? I think this was a bad move. At times, we've needed a spark from the bench, or something different to trouble teams. He was an answer.
Corky Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 We've seen with Maxi that he could well start brilliantly, then fade and Leeds don't want him. He lifted them last night but let's see what's being said and written in a month's time.

Personally I would rather be at an established Championship club. I agree that we have needed Maxi at times this season - I see him as a good option down either flank because he is a fullbacks nightmare espcecially last 25 minutes, a player like Gradel running at them would be horrible.
Shane Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 I agree with whoever said it earlier in the thread, cba to look.. N'guessan DJ Gradel Attacking the opposition defence.. last 20 minutes now that would be amazing
Shane Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Oh &.. now gradel is gone we can sign armand traore :DDDDD
lou Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 CBA to look back through thread to see if its been posted but Gradel played ten mins approx and won Sponsors Man of the Match last night
BoneDog Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 CBA to look back through thread to see if its been posted but Gradel played ten mins approx and won Sponsors Man of the Match last night He probably would of won a style award too if there was one. He looked pretty special in the all white kit and yellow boots! Oooooh it hurt me to think that when I was watching last night
StanSP Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 CBA to look back through thread to see if its been posted but Gradel played ten mins approx and won Sponsors Man of the Match last night Like Beckham winning MOTM for about 20 mins last week.
Tilley Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 All I want is for players to play in their correct positions. So hopefully N'Guessan gets a game tonight, Pearson realises he's whack and recalls Gradel.
