Thracian Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Leeds are a top team and are flying. I'm disappointed that Gradel hasn't even made the bench for us, but if he isn't gonna play for us then a loan move to a winning side would be good for him. And it'd be good for Leeds as well, cos they'll get a good winger. Absolutely. It seems extraordinary that they should be so keen on him yet we don't rate him above the people who have been occupying his position. It's not as if we're scoring goals and winning matches. We're back to being draw speciallists just like we've been so often in recent history. I hope he enjoys his stay there and we let him move on if they ask to make it permanent. Pearson has made it pretty clear what he thinks and I can't see that changing. Cautious, functional and increasingly reliant on experience seems to Pearson's philosophy and he may well be right. But I cannot imagine it getting many people on the edge of their seats in anticipation.
Sir Alex Ferguson Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Pearson aint gotta clue mate. Slightly harsh, a promoted team to be in the top half of the championship only 1 point off the play-offs and not a lot of money was spent in the summer. You surely have to trust his judgement....for at least a little while.
Finnegan Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Pearson aint gotta clue mate. I know right. Won a league last year and is a point off the play offs in one this year. The man's a complete fool.
Asha Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Think that'll be him gone from us to be honest. Can see it being like Sheehan, go on loan for a bit and then join permanently in January or something. Disappointed that he hasn't been given a chance at all this season.
CosbehFox Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Well if it's the case good luck to him but I don't think he's realty good enough anyway. At least he's someone willing to work his load however.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Think that'll be him gone from us to be honest. Can see it being like Sheehan, go on loan for a bit and then join permanently in January or something. Disappointed that he hasn't been given a chance at all this season. Agree with you. Hope it doesnt happen but think we have seen the last of him.
Budweiser Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Pearson aint gotta clue mate. Fuck off! You wind everyone up and it works Disappointed to see Gradel has left us, might not see him in a City shirt again. Did he even make the bench once? Should have put the lad on the right, tuck Oakley inside with Wellens & Dyer on the left. Oh, and he could have taught Dyer how to stay outwide, like a winger.
dandannieldanok Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Have we gave up on using a right winger then? Gradel gone and N'Guessan not making the squad. I fail to see the benefit to Leicester in this, the only winners here are Leeds.
Thracian Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 I know right. Won a league last year and is a point off the play offs in one this year. The man's a complete fool. Be realistic Finners. He won a League at a level we'd never dropped to before and with vastly greater resources than the huge majority of his riivals. And even then we hardly played the most convincing football, especialy in the second half of the season. Yes, it was a relief and a testimony to his ability to get some sanity back into our team selection and to get his players focused on the job. I don't discount any of that nor the fact that he could only win the League we were in. But it's only now we're back at the level we used to be and I can't see that any of our attacking players - old hands or new faces - seem to be improving much. And nor is the team collectively. We're competing, and that's a start, but it's about all we do. We have no speed, no dynanism, no guile and no personality. And even if we do get ahead or come back to equalise there's rarely much likelihood of our using that momentum to press on and score some more. What we have we hold is Pearson's approach. It's utterly functional and while there is some merit in that, I'd hardly call it exciting. And I wouldn't be surprised if we've gone about as hiogh as he'll take us. Not because he isn't a decent manager. But because he's basically a managerial spoiler - a guy who is more about making us difficult to beat and to play against than turning us into a team of trailblazers. But we'll see and I'll happily accept being proved worng.
Legend_in_blue Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Nobody in our squad who can play right side of the midfield effectively is good enough to do that at this level. We need a right sided player desperately.
ousefox Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Very dissapointed with this. I feel we have missed a winger with trickery and sometimes the willingness to take people on this season.
Bert Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Frustrated.Last season he was told he was too good for the 1st and now they dont play him in the champ and loan him back to the first. Someone is messing him around and we are in danger of losing him. Personally, I think Gradel's over-rated, flashes of brilliance at times, but his crossing is poor and he's very incosistent. He'll be back here, hopefulyl to prove me wrong, because I want him to do well.

lou Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 I was right then! Not happy about this but hope he does well. Is it back on the OS yet?
Uncle Albert Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Can't see him having a future with us now personally - if Pearson is prepared to send him on loan to a League One club where it isnt garunteed for him to get first team football then can't see Pearson looking to be bringing Maxi back anytime soon this season to slot back in on the right. I personally rate Maxi high because he is a natural winger who will always look to beat his man - his crossing isnt the best but when he does put quality in the box then its a nightmare for defenders. Not all wingers can put quality in the box for 90 minutes. Hope he can show his worth and claim a place in the Leeds eleven and show Pearson that he has the quality to be a Leicester player.

If he performs for Leeds, he will not want to come back to us. They are a bigger club than us and the best side in that division.
Babylon Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Be realistic Finners. Thracian telling Finners to be realistic But it's only now we're back at the level we used to be and I can't see that any of our attacking players - old hands or new faces - seem to be improving much. And nor is the team collectively. How many goals did Fyatt get last time in the Championship? Last time we were in the Championship we got relegated, now we are 2 points off third. Is that not an improvement by an attacking player and the team now we're "back at the level we used to be".
Sparky Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 I just got a feeling that he will love it there and the Leeds fans will take to him , cant see him coming back. Hope im wrong
Guest Mee-9 Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Just text BBC radio leicester see if they have any info on Gradel.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Just text BBC radio leicester see if they have any info on Gradel. Gone - FOR A MONTH
MC Prussian Posted 19 October 2009 Posted 19 October 2009 Gone - FOR A MONTH SHOCKING. But seriously, good business for both sides, Gradel gets some more playing time and Leeds a "pacey and cheeky winger" (quote Waccoe). Although I'd preferred it if he had gone to another club - it makes Leeds way too good for League One. They can but fail now.
