marbelladave Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 So Pearson gets put down for winning the league "with the best squad and resources", yet Grayson is some master genius for doing the same? And this attack minded genius gets them to score an almost identical number of goals in their first 12 league games. Hmmm. Last year winning automatic promotion was was, for us, about par. Winning the division with games to spare means we did rather well. Grayson is under similar pressure this year, Leeds seem more stable as a club than in recent years so he really should do it this time. Whether he is a better manager than Pearson is yet to be decide but one thing is true, unfortunately, and that is when Leeds do get promoted they can probably rely on more resources than City so could quite possibly achieve more than we can manage in the medium term.

If Thracian put his thoughts across like that, then I doubt many would disagree (I don't). Unfortunately everything always seems to have undertones of putting down Pearson.

I am tempted to reply that, while appreciative of the positive things Pearson has brought to the club, some of us do not buy into the 'Pearson is God' crap. It is tedious and annoying, which may go some way to explaining why pricking the 'In Nige we trust' bubble is so appealing. But then, maybe I should let Thracian speak for himself......

You do realise that it was Thracian who said "Pearson is a god" in a broadcast TV interview not so long ago? So blame him when people say it.

knowitall Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Spoke to Max today. He says he feels really wanted and needed at Leeds. He is enjoying his first week with them. He says all the Leeds fans love him all ready and he wants to show them what he can do.

Sneaky question...any chance we will see him in a City shirt again playing in the first team or is he looking for a permanent move

He says all the Leeds fans love him all ready and he wants to show them what he can do. Don't blame him after he was spun all that bullshit last season about being saved for the Championship. With a noticeable absence of genuine wingers from our first team, I can't say I agree with his loan spell, but good luck to the lad. Let's hope this doesn't bite us in the arse.
knowitall Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Damn, but good for the lad.Sneaky question...any chance we will see him in a City shirt again playing in the first team or is he looking for a permanent move Max is just looking to play football. His answer to most things is Jesus will sort it out. MY answer is Jesus does not pick the team NP does. If you ask me I would tell him to go. He has been treated badly by my club since he has been here. Promise after promise broken. He wants to be loved and he is getting that at Leeds. He is playing football and for the bigger club. ( ohhh that hurt to type that)

He says all the Leeds fans love him all ready and he wants to show them what he can do. He was just what we missed against Derby. I couldn't believe the impact he made in 15 min cameo. The Sky sports commentators couldn't contain themselves. He set Beckford up for 3 clear cut chances. Norwich didn't have a clue how to handle him. I just hope the experience does him good and he comes back to us as he is loved here. Tell him that next time please. Do you know if Kisnorbo was out injured?
Hitesh Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 I think any sets of fans would fall in love with him - he is that kind of player! I just hope he doesn't give up on City and he can try and win back is place!
Budweiser Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 I saw him in the car park at Hereford and everyone was shouting his name after a good performance, he was chuffed to bits. He even gave me a thumbs up

He's only gonna be in Leeds for a month. Fingers crossed he'll be back after a months and things will sort itself out. I love Jesus as well.

The problem, of course, lies with the quote because the correct one "Pearson's a God" is significantly different to the erroneous "Pearson is God". Cos the Gods of Greek mythology can be extremely uncomfortable characters to have around. Reactionary, ruthless and quite self-serving on occasions. He might be seen as Heracles and may even have the influence of Nike to help him. But if ever he's allowed himself to be influenced by Deimus .... well, it might explain the 0-0 at Ipswich, the loss of a two-goal lead at Watford etc. http://www.theoi.com/greek-mythology/olympian-gods.html

milan_foxes Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11712_5642591,00.html "It's a massive club and I love the challenge," explained Gradel. "There is good motivation here because I want to help the club get promoted."Hopefully I can stay here because any player just wants to play so I would love that chance. "The club is fantastic, it has good supporters, and a good manager and staff. Everyone is very good and all together and it's the type of team you love to play for." <_<

marbelladave Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 They are in the midst of an investigation into their ownership however. You can always rely on Ted fooking Bates to fook up you argument. However, realistically Leeds are a big city club with a huge fanbase. If they sort themselves out they are a top premiership side. And no, I can't stand then either....

StanSP Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Max is blatantly gonna do a smaller version of DJ Campbell and tell us in more subtle ways thathe wants to stay at Leeds rather than come back here in a month's time.
