weluv Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 he deserved MOTM as well. We were dire, he set Beckford up with 2 sitters both of which he missed. Will be interesting to see whether larry starts Gradel or Snod on the right for Millwall, or whether he plays both and drops Howson. TBH the only one of our midfield who's guaranteed a start at the minute is Johnson, been like a new signing this season, best player on the park every week.
davieG Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 This what I can't understand who are these other people? Adams - can't get in N'Guessan - dropped Dyer - in and out Oakley - on the wing yeh Gallagher - on the wing yeh This season he has failed to make the breakthrough at City, but assistant manager Craig Shakespeare said before the recent Coventry game: "Of course he has a future at the club. We all saw last season his ability to go past people. "At the moment because of a bit of loss of form from him and good form from other people, he hasn't quite had the opportunity yet. "He is an important member of the squad and, given his opportunity, I am sure he will show the ability he showed last year, and he does have a future at the club.''
Thracian Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 This what I can't understand who are these other people?N'Guessan - dropped Oakley - on the wing yeh Gallagher - on the wing yeh Or Chosen Men if you like. What loss of form especially compared to the performance of three of those five you mentioned? Chosen Men is my interpretation. Shakespeare would be wise to let Pearson speak for himself if that's the best he can come up with. I don't even remember Gradel getting the game time to show top form or full match fitness - only the three mentioned enjoyed that luxury.
Thracian Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 And what if they just aren't good enough for a higher league, and what they are offering is the best they can? If you want to believe that I'm sure nothing I say will stop you. But I reckon Leeds have got a real ace if they are wise enough to get the best from him. And the way things are shaping I have no doubt that Grayson will quickly steer them past us in the near future as well as gaining promotion.
Bryn Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Got to admit I'm equally baffled by our wing situation, and it's the first time I've had that nagging feeling of disagreeing with Pearson that I always used to get before he came. Furthermore, does someone want to explain why we weren't in for Vokes?
maddog Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 All I want is for players to play in their correct positions. So hopefully N'Guessan gets a game tonight, Pearson realises he's whack and recalls Gradel. Yes yes yes.
Shane Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Lets all ask ourselves a question: Does Pearson know his best starting 11?
Fox92 Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 shall we get Aaron Lennon in then? Don't like him either, another player that does the same thing nearly.
Rocky Dennis Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Got to admit I'm equally baffled by our wing situation, and it's the first time I've had that nagging feeling of disagreeing with Pearson that I always used to get before he came.Furthermore, does someone want to explain why we weren't in for Vokes? Howard Fryatt Gallagher Waghorn DJ No room for another striker surely?

Pearson seems to like his wide men to play more or less as midfielders, wing backs if you like. Dyer seems to be the only player on either flank who makes a half decent job of this role. Personally I think Dyer would be a far better player if he was allowed to concentrate more on the attacking side of his game but until it is tried we will never know. This is why I have been advocating a 3 man midfield (for as long as I can remember) with our wide players pushed further forward in attacking positions. We can try almost any combination of Dyer, N'Guessan, Waghorn, Yanni or Gradel (when and if he returns) either side of Fryatt or, preferably in my view, Gallagher leading the line.
Edmund Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 And the way things are shaping I have no doubt that Grayson will quickly steer them past us in the near future as well as gaining promotion. Have a day off Thracian. pes·si·mism A tendency to stress the negative or unfavorable or to take the gloomiest possible view
Thracian Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Have a day off Thracian. pes·si·mism A tendency to stress the negative or unfavorable or to take the gloomiest possible view Just an honest opinion. Optimism or pessimism doesn't come into it.
dandannieldanok Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 I disagree with those that are saying this loan will allow Gradel back in here at Leicester. I really hope you're right but let's remember Gradel has barely made a matchday squad never mind a starting 11, so no matter what he does at Leeds surely on measly month isn't suddenly going to make Pearson fall in love with him. One thing I haven't been able to understand this season is why N'Guessan was picked to play ahead of Gradel. A League 2 proven player ahead of a League 1 proven player, doesn't make sense.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 If you want to believe that I'm sure nothing I say will stop you.But I reckon Leeds have got a real ace if they are wise enough to get the best from him. I hate to agree with Thracian, but I believe his is spot on, ( this time ).

Ozwin Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 At least he hasn't done a DJ. I still think he must've done something to piss off Pearson.
Koke Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Lets all ask ourselves a question:Does Pearson know his best starting 11? I don't think so, no. He's still fannying about with the starting 11 and bar a 5-6 players [Weale, Hobbs, Brown, Wellens, Oakley and Fryatt] the rest of the places are up for grabs.
Thracian Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 http://www.leedsunited.com/news/man-of-the...2247585_1831470 He sure made his feelings known there and I can't say I blame him. Most times our right wing has been an embarrassment without him and it was no different last night for most of the time despite our victory.
Raj Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 If we lose this young talented lad, someone at LCFC should be buggered up the arse by Gen smuts.
moseeds Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 So we just spent 19 pages debating whether Gradel is worthy of a start and he gets man of the match in his first 10 mins of football!?
marbelladave Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 He sure made his feelings known there and I can't say I blame him. Babylon Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 And the way things are shaping I have no doubt that Grayson will quickly steer them past us in the near future as well as gaining promotion. So Pearson gets put down for winning the league "with the best squad and resources", yet Grayson is some master genius for doing the same? And this attack minded genius gets them to score an almost identical number of goals in their first 12 league games. Hmmm.
