Dr The Singh Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 I dunno, to be honest, from how popular I am with people, probably not viewed in such a good light as I think!! All in all, as Raj said, this is who I am, like it or lump it, I suppose!!!
Thracian Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 If I ever dwelt on what people think of me I'd have stopped being me decades ago.
CosbehFox Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Boring, reliable, quiet for some. Proper mates would consider me funny, intelligent, weird at times, reliable and a good lad. Funny really been thinking the same question now I've joined a footy side and wonder how people judge me after just 6 weeks of knowing them for 4 hours a week.
Tabou Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 I should imagine rather like how the Greeks felt about Zeus...
Part Of The Crowd Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 I have a sort of pathological urge to be liked by people but I'm also needlessly sarcastic and sometimes kind of arrogant without meaning to be. They don't go together at all. I'm also self-analytical almost to the point of self-obsession and so obviously couldn't resist posting in this thread. Whoops.I never have any idea how people see me, probably a giggly lanky kid who comes across about 3 years younger than he is. Yeah me too actually. Definitely how I think people might view me. Join the club guys.

But I think once I spend more time with people it settles down and they warm to me. Ill try to make alot of sarcastic, or regular jokes if im meeting someone for the first time, sometimes it can go well and sometimes I probably just look like a tool. Like I said though if I get to know a person more and they get to know me then I can be more comfortable and myself.
Tommy G Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 On here probably people think I'm a bit of a twat at times but it's just banter at the end of the day. In real life I'd say im quite sensible for my age, trustworthy, reliable, funny etc
Guest Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 People already know what my feelings are on this, so there's no need to go over old ground again.
maddog Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 People already know what my feelings are on this, so there's no need to go over old ground again. I think Lisa is a sarky cow and munter magnet.
lou Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 I honestly couldn't care less. Sums me up too Ive been through way too much in my life to worry about what people think of me. The ones that matter, who know the real me, obviously like me else they wouldnt have stuck around. Anyone else can fook off
Daggers Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Other people have opinions too? My. You live and learn, eh. What next? Other people have feelings too? Ha! The nonsense of it all!
Zingari Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 i asked how people viewed me and the general concensus was , "preferably through a high powered telescope"
lou Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 i asked how people viewed me and the general concensus was , "preferably through a high powered telescope" not as bad as through a telescopic sight on a gun
Sparky Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 absolutley no idea to be honest A fair few think im an electrician
Lillehamring Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 i'm not to sure i buy all this ' i don't care what people think of me'--- isn't that just the same as saying i am arrogant and self-centred. and i offer this based on my own experience, thankfully now changed. ...i think it is much healthier to care what people think about you, but not to be ruled by it, or to let it bring you down if you disagree.

I dont think it is. Theres plenty of people who dont like me, Im just not going to lose any sleep over it is what I meant. I used to be consumed with wanting ppl to like me but Ive had too much shit happen to me to realise its not bloody important and the people who love me are the only ones that matter.

Everybody cares about what others think about them. Anyone who says different is a liar, or most probably an ego-maniac. The need to be liked stems from basic insecurities, and i've yet to meet anybody who doesnt have any of them. Like you say, it is healthy to care about what people think about you because in theory it should help you to become a decent person. We all have "a front". And often its only (and only sometimes) family and very close friends who ever see beyond that. I'm as guilty as anyone of being governed too much by what others think. I'd dwell far more on a negative comment than i ever would on a positive one.
Craig Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 People probably think i just moan and get pissed nowadays, they're probably spot on.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 I got told I was funny and very witty today.

I do care what people think about me to an extent (ie I would not want to act in a manner thats offensive) but I dont care about people who just dont like me if that makes sense?
Tommeh Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 If people think I'm "pretty fu.cking awesome" then they are probably correct. If not, God knows.

I was thinking that as well tbh.
