Edgar Davids in a city shirt. :-)

I have a barca shirt with his name on it :) would love to add a city shirt with him on the back.... I would love this signing, its a one off, ignore the wages etc, if it happens just enjoy it.

Everything about this screams of a disater signing. He's old, he hasn't played for a year, his career was on a downer before that anyway, he might disrupt the squad, he will be on a huge wage etc etc.

However, everytiime I read about it I can't help thinking 'PLEASE HAPPEN!!'

I wonder if he'll get some nice blue glasses made?

Ha ha ha i'm the same... my head is saying don't be so bloody ridiculous. But something deep inside me is screaming... "IT'S EDGAR FRICKING DAVIDS". :D

Do we think this could point to a change in playing style. With howard being dropped and a change to pace and flair. I can hardly see Davids agreeing to lump the ball up to howard lol.

No doubt that this guy has great pedigree, He is old and hasn`t trained for a while, but could sign him on a short term contract, he will pass on valuable knowledge to other players and youngsters! good signing IMO.

I think this would be a terrible idea.

He's past it, hasn't played for ages, and would only disrupt the team.

We're playing well, only a few points off the top, and we're looking quite solid.

No thankyou.

City team with Edgar in?

Can't see it myself :dunno: Not even sure we need a defensive midfielder.

I actually think we do.

Although Wellens is fairly strong and gets stuck in he isn't defensive minded. I've often thought this season we could do with a 'Lennon' type player who wins the ball, tidys up and controls the game.

To be fair, I thought King did a decent job doing that last night.

Except our problem isn't defensive its creating and finishing, we have enough player carrying out defensive duties.

Maybe he feels he has to get others to cover more defensively due to us not having a naturally defensive midfielder. Thus signing a defensive midfielder to free the others up.

One can always hope... :D

I get all tingly when I read this topic, and I keep doing.

I know it'll probably be a massive failure but like someone said IT'S EDGAR ****ING DAVIDS!

Legend. He could be our poster boy and everything.

I thought I would put him through CS4. He suits the shirt.

Davids was always renowned for his pitbull attitude, workman-like in the centre of the midfield. My only concern now, at the age of 36, is whether he could still maintain that kind of attitude on a football pitch.

Nevertheless I still want this to happen. :D

In all honesty, we probably we do well to avoid this, would potentially upset a side who I think have the potential for the play-offs.

Having said that, we could have Edgar Davids playing for us, one of the most iconic players in recent years! Get him in!

Maybe this was the route to raising funds as mentioned by Mandarin? :P

MM doing the same thing Ipswich did by appointing Roy Keane.

Big name - Headlines - Cash returns

NOt gonna argue with the logic, but it could upset the rhythm of the team like Asprilla did when he joined Newcastle!

Would all the nay sayers kindly shut the fuck up please.

In case you hadn't noticed, it's Edgar Fucking Davids. He is world class you imbeciles. I don't care how old he is, you simply do not lose that kind of talent after a year. You only have to look at someone like Maldini and in fact most of the current Milan squad to see that age means fuck all.

Dida - 36

Oddo - 33 - Nesta - 33 - Kalahdze - 31 - Zambrotta - 32

Pirlo - 30 - Seedorf - 33 - Gattusso - 31- Ambrosini - 32 - Jankulovski - 32

Inzaghi - 36

A starting 11 for one of the est teams in Europe, all over 30. All past it? I fucking well think not. Pretty sure every one of them would walk into the Leicester team.

Case closed, shut the fuck up and enjoy it. it's Edgar Fucking Davids.

We're clearly in shock for different reasons then :P

Like General SMuts just said, it's Edgar Davids, the pure buzz around the City if he signed would be awesome, the novelty dreadlock sellers will be rolling in it too.

No not case closed you up your own arse Pr*ck. AC Milan are a struggling team and have been for a while for a reason, over the hill players. And if Davids was still at a good level as a player he would have been tempted out of retirement by now by a club playing at a higher level then we do. You think if Davids could still perform at 36 at the same level as Inzaghi he would be considering coming to us?

Just fooking relax and enjoy a massive name being strongly liked with us

If he's not good enough, he won't play. Simples.
