Asha Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 I believe I saw Bilo in K today? With the missus. I thought I saw him as well, but in L.
DanTheFox07 Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Chuffed to bits for us tonight.Shame about the mighty gers Yeah mighty with 3 own goals and all !
Bluefoxtim Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 He tried to stay calm and make sure but gave the goalkeeper chance to close down his angle and fill up the shooting space. What I liked was that he made the chance, something no-one was threatening to do and he almost did it again minutes later with another excellent run. Only you could put a positive spin on that Thracian!
maddog Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Awful first half. Pearson got his selection totally wrong, Howard was useless, Fryatt useless, not right winger, Neilson dodgy, Mc Givern not superb, and then Pearson subbed off our best player, the only one with any attacking intent up the wing, Dyer. And replaced him with another non winger, Gallagher who has greatly disappointed me since he signed. But he was the ultimate difference. Won us the penalty, scored the rebound for the penalty. Then Pearson came out of his rotting cocomb, full of awful tactics and selections, and bought on Dj and Waghorn. Already you could see the Palace defence were in turmoil and we pilied on the pressure. Dj with his first run, was in on the keeper. Yes it was missed, but this is a man who has only played 30 minutes in the last year for us pretty much until tonight, and he got himself into a great position at Cov. Fantastic last half hour, and we deserved a 1 goal win, 2-0 flattered us a little. But anyone who calls Dj Campbell. And anyone who thinks Howard or Fryatt should be picked for the next match ahead of Dj or Waghorn is a fooking total retard.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 First game I've been to in a long while. I've made these decuctions: - Oakley is ineffective and virtually anonymous at times. - Wayne Brown won absolutely everything in the air. Very imposing. - Robbie Neilson attracts a great deal of criticism without doing that much wrong. - Steve Howard should not be starting. - Ryan McGivern looked solid. - The people sitting behind me were a right pair of moaning old codgers who really should know better. Reminds me why I don't go to City as often as I should. I hate our fans.

MC Prussian Posted 20 October 2009 Author Posted 20 October 2009 First of all, I wasn't at the match, only listened to it via stream. BUT... dear Nigel Pearson, please let Steve Howard get a rest and have someone else as a starting striker against Reading. Steveeee was a great asset. That was last season. This campaign, he's moved nothing. Zilch. Nada. Niente. Nichts. Championship opposition adjusts better to that particular one-dimensional play, so better have something surprising ready. No, I'm not just talking DJ here. Like Nick's already mentioned, give Gallagher and/or Waghorn a chance. And finally play two proper wingers from the start!!! In hindsight, bringing on Gallagher for Dyer against Palace was a stroke of genius, but I liked Dyer's effort in the first half, he was the best player out of a mediocre lullaby team. I don't know why it's so hard for some strikers getting (and converting) proper scoring chances - is it the system? Or the advanced adversaries? Sometimes, it's still very frustrating following Leicester City. But then again, can't win every game 4-0. What a dull season that'd be. Campbell has worked his way up, yet still cannot score from five yards out. Wonder how he did that at Brentford? Was he on medication? Let's hope he bangs in a few, it'd be a shame seeing him end up like a young, darker version of Paul Dickov. Oakley had a few blinders tonight, lost possession a lot (which is quite a no-go for a captain). I take it Berner was rested - or McGivern tested. In any case, give the Swiss another go, let the Bruno do his tricks on Monday.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Good win, and well done to Gallagher. He WAS a good buy.
Ozwin Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 That win was all down to Wayne Brown's awesome flick. I said this when it happened. I was about to complain about him being up front and then he pulled that out of the bag. Couldn't complain afterwards
Tilley Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Just remembered the next two games on tele, sweet.
Jimothy Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 - Robbie Neilson attracts a great deal of criticism without doing that much wrong. To be fair to both Neison and the fans who moan, I've find him, especially tonight, to be a little Bramble-esque. Fine for 80-95% of the game and then he'll inexplacably make a strange or shocking mistake, and end up totally at sea.
maddog Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Just remembered the next two games on tele, sweet.
Tilley Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Who wants to travel to Reading & QPR?! I love Sky.
Ozwin Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Morrison did nothing wrong. Nielson isn't as bad as everyone makes out but I'd still feel more confident with Morrison there. He seems more composed. Nielson gets into trouble, gets himself out of it then does something stupid to get himself back in the **** again.
maddog Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 I maybe being over critical really. I'm still fooking delighted with the 3 points, and with Newcastle and West Brom losing, IF WE COULD magically counjure up 2 wins in these next 2 away games, depsite all my moans and complaits and all the points we've wasted, we could be top of the League. I think tonight really shows what a chance we have for a playoff place, or even the ultimate dream. We played awful tonight and take 3 points, Newcastle and West Brom both lose again, come on boys. COME ON BOYS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS S
Tilley Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 post Just imagine we'd held on at Watford or beaten Ipswich, Peterborough and Derby like we should have. We'd be running away with it!
StanSP Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Who wants to travel to Reading & QPR?! I love Sky. Going to Reading. Only because it's closer than usual and I'll actually be able to go to a decent stadium away as opposed to Vicarage Road and Kenilworth Road. Will try and watch QPR on tele.
Mikey Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Bad first half, good second half. Gallagher changed the game really, and I'm glad to see him get off the mark. Good win.
Guest Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Awesome second goal from Gallagher, and to be fair the first weren't too shabby either The most boring first half I've seen in ages, more than made up for it in the second half though.
maddog Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Wooooooo off to bed now delighted. And really looking forward to watching the next 2 games, lets hope we win them both, then fook knows where we could be in the table. COme ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS :locked:
AjcW Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Just remembered the next two games on tele, sweet. It was this that put me on a downer after todays win actually. Infamously poor on tv. And against a reading team in need of a win and a QPR team in need of drug testing .
dimmerchant Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Waghorn and Campbell added so much. Granted, Gallagher was the best substitution, always thought he's been class whilst he's played for us (a chance up front wouldn't go a miss) but the replacement of Howard was the best move of the night. When Howard came off and Waghorn came on we were running rings around their defence. Darting runs by both Fryatt and Waghorn gave the midfield much more opportunities with their passing. First half, the midfield had no options but launch it forward to Howard, who was just outplayed by their CB. Give Howard a rest indefinitely and let two quick, agile strikers have a go together. The runs made by Waghorn, Fryatt and Campbell would of inevitably led to a goal had they had longer. Campbell created a great chance for himself with a defence splitting run but he couldn't put it away. Hoofing will not work in this league. Especially with the talent of Waghorn, Fryatt and Campbell in our grasp and the passing ability of the midfield, especially King, we can improve vastly by playing these type of players and this sort of passing game.
Guest Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 I wondered what Warnock's angle would be when looking to assign blame for his loss, lo and behold, courtesy of the BBC Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock on the penalty:"It was a Sunday league tackle for the penalty but the lad who scored the goal was three yards inside the box when it was taken. "Rules are rules. We've heard all week about a beach ball and then they allow a goal like that. He brushed past the referee on his way into the area so he can't say he hasn't seen it." What a numpty
lildave3 Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 I wondered what Warnock's angle would be when looking to assign blame for his loss, lo and behold, courtesy of the BBCWhat a numpty To be fair, I thought the same thing
