MPH Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 How shit does this sound. We are going to be no where near the top 10 let alone the playoffs this season. Seem to be getting progressively worse this season not better. <_< Don't start with that bollocks. We are playing shit. Simple as that. Doesn't matter where we have come from!! No it isn't it is a realistic fact that we are play shite at the moment, have no penetration and seem to be getting worse. Comming up last season has feck all to do with it. You been on the Tequila? ahahahaha!
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 ahahahaha! Fair play. I am not the only one to say it was shite though. Very happy with the win and more importantly some attacking intent in the second half. Lets hope it continues.
dave the caveman Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 "Gallacher double secures win for FOREST who stay seventh"
Joe. Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Great result, delighted with that. All the more sweeter checking the score on my phone in a bar full of depressed Arsenal fans. Wonderful stuff.

StanSP Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Blinding goal from Gallagher, really streetwise. McGivern didn't do much too wrong but to be fair the lad looked a bit shy. Shocking Palace, though, offered absolutely nothing. Fair play to Warnock for a bit of banter, though. What he do?
Daggers Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 What he do? Accused the four British generals of acting like Nazis before the Nuremberg trials. Oh, hang on, I think that was some other popular hate-figure. It's so easy to get confused these days...
Sparky Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Gallagher needs to be given a good run in the side as a centre forward , if that means at the expense of Fryatt or Howard then so be it. His 2nd goal was beautifully finished
Salieri Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 But why have we taken off Dyer, the one and only player we had with any pace....... :frusty: Ahhhhh, the "master tactician" got that call wrong! Dyer off, Gallagher on and a completely rejuvenated performance. The "happy clappies" or whatever Ultra calls the more optimistic posters can have their enjoyment tonight. The doom and gloom merchants will just have to lie low until the next poor performance i guess.
Head Honcho Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Chuffed to bits for us tonight. Shame about the mighty gers

davieG Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Appalling first half I thought Dyer was one of the better performers so a bit hard on him to be the one to make way for Gallagher. There wasn't a lot of quality football out there, Crystal Palace were on a par with Derby and so many of our players are off formwith miss-timed/placed passes. The ref and linesman on the West side were both shocking. Gallagher's 2nd was sublime and Fryat's penalties have been found out he can't just keep hitting them down the middle. Significantly more effort in the 2nd half and with Waghorn/DJ a lot more pace. From a football perspective can't say I saw or enjoyed much of it save Gallagher's goal but a win's a win.

Sparky Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Yep.What was the penalty like? He hit it fairly straight and low like his last 2, keeper pushed it out for Gallagher to put away the rebound
thybluefox Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Shocking first half, we were very poor and it was only made worse by the officials. Second half, I berated Pearson for taking Dyer off, he was the only one showing any forward running, and the only one with any real pace. What a change though, Gallagher was much better, and the side only improved more so when Howard was taken off. He did pretty much nothing all game (although to be fair he was being fouled for most of it). It was a shame Waghorn didn't do a little more though. Plenty of running, but little to show for it. Was also good to see Deejay back, looked lively and I'd like to see him given a few more chances. Other side of the coin though, Oakley was poor, misplaced 3 or 4 easy balls in stoppage time alone, Wellens wasn't in the game and Neilson had a shocker. Anyway, all in all, pleased. Top by Christmas?
Finnegan Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Loved the irony of all those offsides and then DJ comes on and goes straight through 1 on 1 without being flagged. Nearly wet myself.
Ozwin Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Worst first half of football I've ever seen in my life. Fryatt's penalties have been worked out, he always goes down the middle and keepers know what to expect now. He needs to vary them a bit in future. Great anticipation by Gallagher to meet the rebound, on his toes and straight in there. Gallaghers 2nd goal ws beautiful, I was right behind it and it was just brilliant seeing their keeper back track like a bitch and fail. He got some right abuse today, every kick was met with 'ooohhhhhhs' and a lot of them were shocking. Should keep that up against everyone. Enjoyable 2nd half and the crowd got more into it after Gallaghers awesome volley. Would have been great if that went in.
Unit Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Well that was an odd one, possibly the worst first half of the season followed by a fairly decent second half, gallaghers second was a gem! I think we should be chuffed that we can play badly (or reallllly badly if the first half is anything to go by) and still win 2-0 to take the 3 points, 3 off the top of table.
marbelladave Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Ahhhhh, the "master tactician" got that call wrong! Dyer off, Gallagher on and a completely rejuvenated performance. The "happy clappies" or whatever Ultra calls the more optimistic posters can have their enjoyment tonight. The doom and gloom merchants will just have to lie low until the next poor performance i guess. Jesus, can you actually read? I said several times that I was more than pleased to see Gallagher come on, just disappointing to see Dyer make way for him. He was our most effective forward first half, as he was on saturday, how Howard and Fryatt had the nerve to come out second half is beyond me! Maybe, one day, in the far future I can see us start a game without Howard and Fryatt, we may even deploy Gallagher as a center forward! I know it's crazy but I have a dream.....
Ozwin Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Howard was furious when he got taken off. Reckon it was because he was annoyed at his own performance or the simple fact he'd been taken off again? Saw him kick something afterwards, should get used to it as we were more prominant going forward when he went off. It's almost like the 'Crouch factor' - when he's on we hoof it up to him, when he's not we have to play.
Matt Posted 20 October 2009 Posted 20 October 2009 Happy, I said it was must win and we won, Was abit frustrating and dire in the first half, I had to question Pearson taking Dyer (Who I thought was our best player in the first half) and bringing Gallagher on, but it proved to turn out great, and the second half was pretty good, I've not been keen on Gallagher on the wing, I've said put him up front and he will score, Well he wasn't up front but he still scored, very impressed with him tonight. I felt after we scored out first we went back to defending, and it looked like we were defending like it was the 90th minute, but there was ages left in the match, that worried me, I though Palace would score, but we managed to keep them out, score a second, job done. P.s - Please can we fook Neilson off? So far he's been shite every time he's played, people raved about his throw in's, I can't honestly say they are anything special, Just another SPL Reject. Like any player playing a blue shirt i'll be more than happy for him to prove me wrong, but he's got a hell of alot of improving to do that.
