Salieri Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Before tonight i was chuffed with our league position but at the same time had a nagging feeling that it belied us somewhat. That has now changed. On that performance we've shown we deserve to be where we are, and there's no reason why we can't stay there.
James. Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Oh yeah and fuck those arrogant QPR fans talking shit before the game. I was right. You were wrong.
Babylon Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 I honestly do not know what to say... that was one of the best performances I have ever seen of Leicester on TV. The fact we are also joint top tops it off, I'm choked with the effort and skill every single player put in. To say I'm proud is an understatement. PS.... yes i'm pissed, but I mean every word.
Daggers Posted 31 October 2009 Author Posted 31 October 2009 Maybe so but lines like 'you'll do very well to stop our best players' and 'on this form we're unstoppable' can come across as arrogant, and that's the impression I got. I daresay the person who wrote the piece feels a little silly about it now.Nevertheless, I acknowledge calling them a nothing club was an ignorant remark on my part as I too respect fans of the less fashionable clubs, especially when a lot of their fans have Stamford Bridge and Craven Cottage not so far away. Seeing as our conversation has been blocked elsewhere... True, but an arrogance based on fact. They are an excellent side with some audacious talent - it's just that we stepped up a few unforeseeable gears to contain and beat them.
AMYB101_LCFC Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 We were all over QPR, especially in the second half! Like a lot of people have already said I'm really proud of how we played tonight, it really was amazing I really thought Fryatt was going to get a hat trick. Waghorn was really determined to score but was just a bit unlucky really. Definitely 3 points deserved. I can't wait for the WBA game next weekend now, hopefully we can keep this up
Ozwin Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 I'm loving the love in on the QPR forums. They'd take our team over theirs every day of the week apparently and we're more likely to get to the Prem this season than they are. It's nights like these that make football so special.
Tommeh Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Well that was a truely incredible night. We were unbelievable. Richie Wellens display was the best i've seen of any city player in a very long time. Just out of post match pub and maccies and approaching stanmore on tube. Amazing night.
StanSP Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 All those arrogant QPR fans can shove that up their arses!!! Oh yeah and fuck those arrogant QPR fans talking shit before the game. I was right. You were wrong. Yes mate.
James. Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Richie Wellens display was the best i've seen of any city player in a very long time. Yes. He dominated.
Ozwin Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 I think it'd be unfair to pin point one player tonight, everyone played a part in a fantastic performance.
Jordan Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Every time I watch City on TV, they lose. Every time they're on TV while I'm working, they win. Easy enough. But it sounded like one hell of a performance tonight.
Babylon Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Still buzzing. Amazing night. Unexpected, brilliant, amazing.
Nick Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 That is the sort of football you play without Steve Howard. I am slightly merry but was just bashing the keyboard with my palm in excitemetn before.Wheres Nick, wheres Marbella Dave. Wheres Brett that QPR fan NO STEVE HOWARD=BEST LCFC PERFORMANCE THIS DECADE I'm here you massive tool. It's great the way we played tonight - we played with exactly the style we have not been able to demonstrate all season, hence my points about including Howard. This victory goes in no way to vindicating your point or your abuse of players like Steve and Andy King (look at your avatar - call yourself a LCFC supporter?) If you drop Howard you have to play in a different way - which we up until today have been unable to do. I'm really pleased! Drop this argument right now or I'll make you look stupid again and you'll be reduced to posting "please leave me alone" on my profile page again. FFS what you do isn't funny or cool to get a rise out of people, it's a constant barrage and tirade of mind-numbing, blind, and stupid rhetoric, which only serves to underline your ignorance and lack of social awareness.
potter3 Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Annoyed I couldn't see this, in London or on TV, but it sounds like we were quality
Babylon Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 we played with exactly the style we have not been able to demonstrate all season, hence my points about including Howard. We have played IN PARTS like that though. That was the first 90 minute game.

Are you the only person on the forum who actually argues with maddog? It'd be like me taking my little Milky stalker seriously. maddog's keyboard has callipers - it's cruel to mock.
leftsideoverhere Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Still buzzing. Amazing night. Yes. And yes. Everyone's already said everything, and there's no point repeating it. I can't remember the last time I saw a City team fight and play in equal measure for a full 90 minutes. Chris Weale being patched up but determined to see out the game. The number of outstretched feet for crosses, and for tackles. Everyone gave everything for that victory tonight, and it was so, so richly deserved. Wayne Brown coming over to the City fans at the end, fist pumping and screaming at us with the elation of victory - just fantastic. It's what football is for, nights like tonight. So happy, and so proud.
James. Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 Just thinking I don't think I've ever been to two such contrasting consecutive games as I have this week. Tonight's performance seems all the more unbelievable after Monday. Crazy.
Nick Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 We have played IN PARTS like that though. That was the first 90 minute game. I agree, all this started because I said I wouldn't be an "idiot" to give Howard a run out for the first 45 mins against Reading - to only attempt to play this type of football when we had the players fit, technically adept, the opportunity and the ability. It would seem that slowly integrating these players into the team and replacing Steve has built a platform that the team played on tonight, that they have previously been unable to sustain, especially without Wellens. I described in great detail the exact style of football we would need to play if we were to perform without Steve Howard and universally there were concerns and little evidence that it could be sustained for 90 mins. The way we played today demonstrated that we can do it (though nobody has yet mentioned how poor their defending was, only how greater strike threat they were) and taking nothing away from the team performance it was truly the best I've seen in a number of seasons. I do wonder if they had equalised if everybody on here would still be saying how great all the players were.............. N.
James. Posted 31 October 2009 Posted 31 October 2009 I do wonder if they had equalised if everybody on here would still be saying how great all the players were.............. I would. At 1-1 I actually remember thinking if we lose then I'd still be proud of the performance. To get the result we deserved just makes it even sweeter.
Daggers Posted 31 October 2009 Author Posted 31 October 2009 At 1-1 I actually remember thinking if we lose then I'd still be proud of the performance. Yup
