Hmmm, I'm not sure to be honest. It's definitely a development from Panic Prevention, that's for sure. Worth a download I say.
Ultra Posted 6 September 2009 Share Posted 6 September 2009 New Cribs album out tomorrow "Ignore the Ignorant" Johnny Marr apparently rates it as being as good as, if not better than, any by the Smiths..
Joe. Posted 6 September 2009 Author Share Posted 6 September 2009 New Cribs album out tomorrow "Ignore the Ignorant"Johnny Marr apparently rates it as being as good as, if not better than, any by the Smiths.. Listened through it twice now, and I'm not exactly bowled over. It had to be good to get close to their previous efforts to be fair... Hopefully I'll re-visit this post in a few more listens time with a different opinion.
Finchy Posted 6 September 2009 Share Posted 6 September 2009 New Cribs album out tomorrow "Ignore the Ignorant"Johnny Marr apparently rates it as being as good as, if not better than, any by the Smiths.. All artists say that when a new album comes out. The Gallaghers have said that after every album since Definitely Maybe. I do like the album though, you can definitely tell Marr is playing on it. it's got a huge Smiths feel, especially We Share The Sames Skies, that intro is pure Smiths. Not enjoying it as much as the The Cribs or The New Fellas but I like it a lot more than Mens Needs.
CosbehFox Posted 7 September 2009 Share Posted 7 September 2009 New Cribs album out tomorrow "Ignore the Ignorant"Johnny Marr apparently rates it as being as good as, if not better than, any by the Smiths.. Well it starts off like a rocket but then disappoints towards the end. Pretty much follow the pattern of Passion Pit - Manners and Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's a Blitz. Arctic Monkeys' Humbug I am really unsure of. Got Jamie T and Silversun Pickups but still not gave either of them a proper listen. I was very disappointed with Animal Collective and Grizzly Bear after being recommended them. I'll check out The XX and have been pointed in direction of Union by Boxer Rebellion which is getting a full release finally. Also must pick up Phoenix's album. Ultra Posted 7 September 2009 Share Posted 7 September 2009 I've downloaded the Cribs album and will give it a listen later this week. I've also downloaded the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack as it features two Smiths songs (as well as Carla Bruni..)

I'm gonna have a think and come back to mine later Edit: Fuck it. Albums: Slaughterhouse - Slaughterhouse. Relapse - Eminem. OB4CL2 - Raekwon. Ready - Trey Songz. All I can think of for now, had I thought about this last month I'd of put Blueprint 3 in there, but now I've properly listened to it, it aint that good. But I'll add on again in a bit. Tommeh Posted 12 November 2009 Share Posted 12 November 2009 Best thing I've heard this year has been Drakes mixtape - So far gone closely followed by Relapse -Eminem. Best songs are the beats we had on holiday - Riverside Mother****er, Bonkers, Holiday etc. Best artist still for me has been Kanye - killed it in 6/7 top songs with some incredible verses. Ignore the Taylor Swift bollocks. Very good year in my opinion.
