Part Of The Crowd Posted 29 December 2009 Share Posted 29 December 2009 I think that Avenged Sevenfold's drummer dying aged 28 is a pretty big thing. Even if you don't like the music that is far too young to die. R.I.P

Deathside Posted 30 December 2009 Share Posted 30 December 2009 In retrospect I don't think 2009 has been a particularly great year for music Albums - Best I can come up with is Municipal Waste - Massive Aggressive Beginning Of The End - If you're Going Through Hell...Keep Going Active Minds - It's Perfectly Obvious That This System Doesn't Work No Individual song from 2009 really stands out Musical Events Motorhead / The Damned / Girlschool - Leeds Academy - 20th November Volbeat - Download festival - 14th June Backyard Babies / Danko Jones - Utreicht Tivoli (Netherlands) - 28th March Criminal Damage - London The Grosvenor - 5th June The Dew Drop (Death Drop) squatted pub - London - Squatted since January 2009 - Home to some crazy gigs/parties and also home to some very good friends Joining The Wankys - and getting back into playing live on a regular basis Looking forward to a much better 2010 - starting in January with Pisschrist gig in Singapore and Wankys Japan tour - Later in the year Wankys gigs/tours in Germany, Netherlands and America

Regardless IMO the best songs the prodigy have produced were "breathe" and "their law". Not sure about Maximo Park though, i thought Quicken the Heart was pretty good, not as good as Our Earthly Pleasures but still impressive.
Jay Posted 15 January 2010 Share Posted 15 January 2010 My highlights: Frank Turner - Poetry of the Deed That was my biggest disappointment of the year I have love Frank Turner from as far back as Million Dead, his first few releases with him, his guitar and nothing else were just brilliant but while poetry of the dead had it's moments I couldn't help thinking with a band he had just turned into the Levellers. I'm not going to lie, it was nowhere near as good as Love, Ire & Song but I still really liked it. I'm not sure whether you've caught him live yet, but he's absolute class. General Smuts Posted 15 January 2010 Share Posted 15 January 2010 That was my biggest disappointment of the year I have love Frank Turner from as far back as Million Dead, his first few releases with him, his guitar and nothing else were just brilliant but while poetry of the dead had it's moments I couldn't help thinking with a band he had just turned into the Levellers. One of my regrets was missing Million Dead when they played the Charlotte a few years ago. They split up 2 weeks later and i missed it having had tickets becuase my mate Dan the Goff didn't fancy going in the end and i couldn't persuade anyone else to come with. I'm not going to lie, it was nowhere near as good as Love, Ire & Song but I still really liked it. I'm not sure whether you've caught him live yet, but he's absolute class. Epic live! Loved it. He wouldnt played Pornography for Cowards though.
