Babylon Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 We've got no money, so it'll be a couple of loans at most.
Super Arj Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Why has everyone ruled out Kerrea Gilbert, he was brilliant last year, and would do a shit lot of good to our defence this time round
Ozwin Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Plus he seemed to have a positive influence on the camp as a whole, his interviews were hilarious.
StanSP Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Why has everyone ruled out Kerrea Gilbert, he was brilliant last year, and would do a shit lot of good to our defence this time round I've said this about a million times now. He rejected Ch'ship clubs in summer. He wanted to stay at Arsenal to develop himself and push for regular first team football. This hasn't worked out and he himself has said that he wants to go on loan to another Prem club.
Ozwin Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 I reckon we'd be a viable option though. I mean he won the league with us, we must hold a special place in his heart. Right?
s2000 Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 i would like to see kerrea gilbert back here i think hes a good player
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Gilbert is not Premiership class. I admire his confidence but he's deluded. Would like to see him here.
Joe. Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Why has everyone ruled out Kerrea Gilbert, he was brilliant last year, and would do a shit lot of good to our defence this time round How has everybody ruled him out? He's been mentioned countless times in this thread already...
dandannieldanok Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 We've got no money, so it'll be a couple of loans at most. Are you sure? If you're right then what the hell is Mandaric doing at this club if he's not got the money to pump in.
milan_foxes Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Febian Brandy. In the United reserves at the minute, was at.... Hereford I think on loan last season. He could do for abit of back up, he's quick, good on the ball, skilful.
Salieri Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Are you sure? If you're right then what the hell is Mandaric doing at this club if he's not got the money to pump in. a) He didn't bank on us getting relegated when he took over as chairman and we're are obviously still feeling the fallout financially from that. b) He's still at the club because, as a businessman he will want to have made a profit before he jumps ship. Given the right offer he'd be off in a heartbeat. Its not that he's got no money to pump in, it's just that he's no mug and has been hit obviously by the relegation and thus is operating more cautiously.
Legend_in_blue Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 i would like to see kerrea gilbert back here i think hes a good player He can't defend. Too lightweight. He's pretty mobile going forwards, but that's about it. He can't even deliver a good cross. And he's never Premiership quality.

TrickyTrev Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 any names? No. But I trust that Nigel Pearson and his team have a better knowledge of the Premier League reserve league than any of us. Signings in January are invariably players that can't get a game for their parent club, not players having a good season.
lcfc_jme Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 I still want us to take me on trial. I'll play for free and everything. Definitely worth a shot.
Babylon Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Are you sure? Mandaric 'We are already over budget for the season'. Pearson also said something like 'It's not who we're going to strengthen with in January, it's whether we can afford to'. Hardly the kind of comments of people ready to splash out. I'm sure MM will spend money if he thinks it can pay for itself, like he did with Davids. Personally i'd expect a couple of loans and nothing else. If you're right then what the hell is Mandaric doing at this club if he's not got the money to pump in. Yeah, because wealthy people are falling over themselves to invest in us.

All this PLUS hes reportedly lost a lot of money in the recession.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Iv'e said it before. If we don't get promotion this season, which is more than likely, he will go. Watch this space.

That's all true, but it's his fault we went down. Yes he wasn't playing or anything, but his ludicrous decisions made the club a circus and therefore he should foot the bill and more. He promised us Premier League in 3 years and I for one will be annoyed if he doesn't at least put more money in to give us a chance. If we don't make it then fine........if we strained every sinue to make it happen. Mandaric 'We are already over budget for the season'.Pearson also said something like 'It's not who we're going to strengthen with in January, it's whether we can afford to'. Fair enough, it was genuine question because those comments you've pointed to have bypassed me somewhere along the line. I'm not saying we should just throw money at players without thinking, but it's clear that to make the next step we're going to need one or two more quality players. And please nobody tell me that Mandaric doesn't have the money. He bought the club for a pittance and although his outlay since has been reasonably high, it's not been enough to fulfil a promise unless we get promoted this season, which would have to be through the playoffs because Newcastle and West Brom have the top 2 spots sewn up. This man was last recorded to have assets of £75m, he could spend more if he wished to.
sham Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Aaron Mclean Hands In Transfer Request Maybe worth a shout?
MPH Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Aaron Mclean Hands In Transfer RequestMaybe worth a shout? he would cost at least 2m... we could maybe throw DJ campbell in there but i doubt they could pay for his wages... in other words... i dont know how we can afford him, althought it would be nice....
Pricey Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Aaron Mclean Hands In Transfer RequestMaybe worth a shout? Just read that, would be a decent addition I think, how much do you think they'd want for him?
sham Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Just read that, would be a decent addition I think, how much do you think they'd want for him? Well if the 'Joe Mattock' Transfer Request is anything to go by, I'm hoping cheaper than his true value?
