lavrentis Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 David Haye Jenson Button Jessica Ennis Can't believe though how Phil Taylor has never been nominated for this, amazing at what he does and how he has bossed the darts world for so long. Needs some recognition for his achievements.
Wycombe Fox Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Team of the Year I'd like to be Brawn but I think it'll be England cricket team. International award to Usain Bolt.
Jimothy Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 1 - Ryan Giggs2 - Tom Daley (Frankly to be a world champion at 15, is pretty amazing) 3 - Jenson Button Why? It's 2009 Sports Personality of the Year award, not a lifetime achievement award.
Wycombe Fox Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 The women's cricket team should have got that above the men's team - hadn't realised how much they'd won this year.
davieG Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Presumably 1000's of Man U fans have been hitting their mobile keypads.
Matt Posted 13 December 2009 Author Posted 13 December 2009 What is it with this Giggs love in? He's been a great footballer, had a great career but what has he done this year? Fair enough give him a Career Achievement award or Lifetime Achievement but what has he actually done this year really?
PAULCFC Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Tony McCoy should have won it. Thats a really good shout
Sparky Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Mccoy and Phil Taylor have been the top of thier trades for years but since it has been a public vote the mainstream sports will always produce the winner, sayin that i suppose that posh royal tart won it few years back. Mccoy and Taylor should have at least been nominated
Matt Posted 13 December 2009 Author Posted 13 December 2009 Tony McCoy should have won it. I said this during the programme, he only occured to me during the programme though, but yeah he should have won it or atleast got more recognised for it in someway other then getting talked about for 5 seconds going over the years sporting moments.
purpleronnie Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Too many Manchester utd fans, thats simply the reason. Its strange but the daily mirror has been saying giggs is worth an outisde bet, I dismissed it, but..... Great player, great career but sports personality of the year?, no way.

Samilktray Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Still disillusioned over no Amir Khan nomination.

Great player, great career but sports personality of the year?, no way. Have to say I reckon he should've been rewarded with a career award rather than yearly one as others have achieved more THIS year.
Ultra Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 It was significant that Giggs was the only Welsh-born candidate on the shortlist. And let's face it, he'll be the only Welsh footballer ever to win a world title..
purpleronnie Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Still disillusioned over no Amir Khan nomination. Get over it.
purpleronnie Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 No. Bad boys is on in 20minutes, cheer yourself up.
Finnegan Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Obviously pleased for Giggsy but very surprised it wasn't Jense.
