CARDIFF GAME OFF

I shouldn't laugh :giggle: but 'worst day' award has to go to 'kokopops who caught the 6.40 train and found out it was off just as the train pulled in to Cardiff Central! >_< He's now consoling himself with a fry up and a pint. His train back's not till 8.30. lol

Seems ridiculous that the game would be called off at a brand new stadium with under soil heating because it's slightly cold out.

Alternatively we could have just played at the millenium stadium. I doubt thats frozen over and it's not being used today.

The fact they havent properly installed undersoil heating is a shambles.

I'm off to see Posh today and they have the shittest ground in the league and all they did was cover it with a few blankets and we have had more snow and ice than Wales.

Lazy Welsh idiots.

Abslulote tinpot fu cks.

So the only thing that new plastic grounds are good for are no longer any better than a 100 year old shed?

Had Just been picked up and went past Tigers ground when I heard in Wilkseys car, severly pissed off. Sheffield - Cardiff on a Tuesday night is an absolute mammoth task.

Day in with Jeff it is, bloody livid.

Doesn't say much for their money situation if they cannot afford a decent bolier to go with the new ground...

Cardiff were actually quite close to going under but managed to some to some sort of agreement with their creditors.

Ofcourse Peter Ridsdale is at the club.

Hope none of you guys have made a wasted trip and you have more luck next time.

There is a spare weekend at the end of January but not sure who you and Cardiff have in the cup plud there are Tuesday night games in Jan too I think.

STUPID WELSH SHEEPSHAGGING BASTARDS!

Form your own leagues, we wouldn't be having this discussion today.

New Stadium at the start of the season and they can't deal with abit for frost.

They apparently have undersoil heating but are too tight to use it, I always thought clubs were supposed to work their hardest to get games on and prevent postponements, F.A/FL if they do have undersoil heating - Investigate why they haven't used it, and if they haven't used it know full well this was a possibility fine them.

If they haven't got undersoil heating in a brand new stadium, Pathetic.

It will surely cost them more money when a Cardiff City match gets called off. :dunno:

i knew this would descend into stereotypical abuse of the welsh ,

but if they will insist on being a bunch of gay rugby playing , lazy , tight fisted , stupid , sheep-shagging witch burners , they've only got themselves to blame really

No but hate it when Leicester ain't playing on a Saturday partly the reason i'm not keen on international games.

Besides I feel for the people that have gone, Its hardly 5 minutes down the road.

Yes I feel bad for the fans that went and its pathetic that the game isn't on when you look at all the other games that are on in older stadiums, but it's hardly travesty of the decade.

If you look on the brightside you won't have your weekend ruined by a 3-0 loss today.

Is this a picture from today?

Makes you wonder what really made the referee call it off... Cardiff fans are also disappointed, as well as highly critical of their own club and how its management deals with issues like this one. They were expecting a "bumper crowd" ©.

ah well , i might as well pop over to france for the day on eurostar to do some shopping

good job there are some things you can rely on

:giggle: Possibly.

Just annoying, I mean yeah don't get me wrong there is still plenty of football on this afternoon and i'd be watching Jeff and Co anyway (It would be radio on, Jeff and Co on mute normally if i'm not going away), but it just isn't the same when Leicester aren't playing on the Saturday, very annoying. Maybe I need to get other interests :dunno:, I am a football fan in general but when 'you're team' doesn't play on a Saturday your afternoon feels empty despite other football being on - And I know i'm not the only one with that feeling reading these boards during the summer/an international weekend.

Oh well, best get some more bets on to make the afternoon more exciting now. lol

Poor Alex. Cardiff are tight tinpot fuckers. Glad we decided last minute not to go. Blackpool-West Brom and Scunny-Ipswich are called off as well.

Welsh cockmunchers.

Go postpone matches in your own shitty leagues.

Pathetic.

This.

Made me laugh when they got to the FA Cup Final and one of their players was banned so they went to the Welsh FA to try and overturn it.

Games are called off every season all over Britain. As much of tight bastards that Cardiff are, talk about silly over-reactions.

I think it's absolutely shocking that a club with a brand new stadium can't cope with some bloody frosty conditions. The fact that they've not been arsed to check the undersoil heating properly to give it the go-ahead to be used is actually quite embarassing.

Posted

I havent bothered to check the reasons it was called off.... if its true it was because they didnt turn the heating on then id be shocked and they should get hammered by the FA!!

I suspect the most probable reason would be some Health and Safety half wit saying the surrounding roads/foot paths are too slippy! im sure thats happened to us a couple of times at the Walkers in spite of the fact the pitch being perfect!!!

It was the pitch:

Despite the extensive efforts of Cardiff City's staff, today's Coca-Cola Championship match referee, Michael Oliver has deemed the Cardiff City Stadium's pitch unplayable following the overnight sub-zero conditions.

What a ****ing joke that was. I was on coach 4 and got told that the game was off at about 10:45, when we were in Redditch.

Newest ground in the league yet it can't hack a bit of cold weather? Even fooking Newport County is on.
