BoneDog Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 Glad I chose to support Newport - cracking 89th minute winner! A pretty well-salvaged day when all said and done... How many people were there do you reckon?
The Doctor Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 If they fancy raising funds, try selling chopra to us, or Whittingham Not too fussed, Feel for the supporters who were going. But look on the brightside, Bruno was out, Fryatt & Brown were Doubtful, and Waghorns suspended. So we didn't have a full squad. And I wouldn't want to see McGivern being played, as he is as useful as a camel during the winter. and now will complete his suspension against doncaster, the only remaining game he would have been able to play in before his loan ends.
lou Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 and now will complete his suspension against doncaster, the only remaining game he would have been able to play in before his loan ends. oh ffs! Another reason to hate Peter Risdale!
PAULCFC Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 Very Disappointed with Cardiff today. We were at Birmingham/Redditch when it got postponed. They should have either come clean last night about the heating, or done a pitch inspection before most fans left Leicester. This! The timing was absolutely crap.....too late to wait here in Leicester to hear.We got to the M5 before Danny Baker told us on r5(quite funny 'cause he said no one would believe him). Then we thought we'd see who one of the brum clubs were playing.......Villa v Stoke or Wallsall v Orient.......So we were back in Leicester before 12.
Shrenchel Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 Shit as it was, can't seem to understand how some people seem to have got all the way to Cardiff before it was even announced?! Surely if you know there's a morning pitch inspection, you fvck off the hours in the pub to ensure there's actually a game to get to? Nobody coming from Leicester or anywhere south of it needed to leave before 10.30.
The Doctor Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 don't understand why they had to inspect the pitch again. The cardiff blues were due to play there last night but the game was called off due to a frozen surface so how would the pitch have improved over night when temperatures dropped further?
Ashley Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 Any truth in the rumors the game could be played as soon as this comming Tuesday? I doubt it'l happen my self like..
The Doctor Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 Any truth in the rumors the game could be played as soon as this comming Tuesday?I doubt it'l happen my self like.. doubt it. They'll have to make sure the USH is all set up and legal and what not, so i doubt it will be before the FA cup 4th round
Bluefoxtim Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 Any truth in the rumors the game could be played as soon as this comming Tuesday?I doubt it'l happen my self like.. Nope. 3 games in 7 days? Wouldn't be long enough to make new arrangements.

Got as far as Cov before hearing. Straight back home and a bit annoyed cos I had left the day completely free cos I didn't expect to be back for 8ish.
z-layrex Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 Are you a lessie? Lovely stuff. That's took the edge off the disappointment Im a boy sorry to disappoint . Tbh I think you're more likely to fancy me than the lezzers in Brighton

Exactly,we were going to go earlier and have a few pints beforehand, but looked on the ccfc website last night and a few of the posters were saying the match was never going ahead.Which leaves us in a bit of a quandry(sp)......Do we not bother, and if the game goes ahead lose our £27 each or do we go and waste petrol?imho it'd have been better if they had the pitch inspection at 9,before most people had left Leicester. We followed 4 coaches back too(not sure what time they left) ccfc.......greenhouse gasses for nothing!
syston_fox Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 We were about 30 mins past Birmingham when we found out so not too bad. A quick diversion, many phone calls etc later and we decided to head over to Villa Park for the game against Stoke. Completely random day but proved to be pretty damn decent. Always a pleasure to see Stoke get beaten!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 The Posh Watford game went ahead with no under soil heating, and I cant believe Cardiff which has had hardly any snow in comparison to here was worse than this. There would be hardly any tackles on this bit and it must have been quite dangerous.
bigneville Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 Only just got back. I was in Cardiff early to meet some family. Had to stay and shop instead. Cardiff City are a complete joke! Seriously frustrated!

Yeah there were loads of tickets available but we did give a Birmingham postcode as Chloe is a student at Brum University so that might have made it easier for us. Ticket prices were pretty reasonable too - U21 tickets were £22 and I think adults were not much more than that. Wasn't a bad game either and "Your having a nightmare referee" in a Dudley accent is officially the funniest thing in the world!
sdb Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 haven't read the thread so don't know the general consensus but having driven through the south west today...very little snow or ice. OK it's not the same as Cardiff but i'm amazed a new stadium couldn't cope with a little snow.

OK it's not the same as Cardiff but i'm amazed a new stadium couldn't cope with a little snow. It's pretty well established Cardiff rightly royally fooked up this one. Ridsdale and his board refuse to sort out a problem which should have been sorted along ago. The Cardiff fans are equally as annoyed because Ridsdale has just received a 500k bonus and they can't afford to sort this problem out sooner. Reading their board, there's a problem with the roof in some sections of the ground! Or cynically, found an opportunity to call off the game because injuries and did so. Seen Pearson on SSN questioning the Cardiff staff!

(Apologies if you've addressed this!)
CosbehFox Posted 19 December 2009 Posted 19 December 2009 I'm assuming you're in Cardiff?! How's the weather been?? (Apologies if you've addressed this!) Naa, I should change my name. I used it ages ago after spending some time there.

We were planning on going to see a relative in Brizzle after the game, and regardless of the result of the pitch inspection, we were still going to go to Brizzle. As it happened, we were a few miles from Monmouth when we found out, and so went there as it is Sir Fynwy's home town, funnily enough.

I take it the lezzers are rough down there then, like the kind who look like Kitten off BB a few years back. I think I'd rather taste Susan Boyles kebab than have a crack with one of them
