England great individuals rubbish team, it needs sorting otherwise we will be going home early at the Euros.

Interesting night.

One lapse of concentration before half-time changes the night and the mood. 44 minutes of control and efficiency undone by conceding, and the second half was a non event until Rooney's ridiculous action.

We're through and thankfully the hype surrounding the finals will be kept to a sane level.

I take it that friendlies don't count towards serving suspension then? Without Rooney we are a diabolical outfit and we're not much better with him. To be fair he's done fook all for us in the last 2 world cups so him missing the group games in the Euros will be bad but it probably wouldn't make much difference.

I'm still planning on heading out to Poland/Ukraine though to laugh at them.

No, starts with the next game in the competition.

To be fair all we are ever guilty off is getting behind our team, but despite that i haven't met an Englishman for years that thinks we are going to win a major tournament any time soon.

Considering the gashness of our group, the way we have laboured to qualification has got to be a major source of concern already.

I was referring more to the press, I think the majority of fans realise we aren't going to add to our collection in the near future.

We have laboured and need serious improvement to make any sort of impact in 2012.

It certainly is when you see Spain, Holland and Germany completely blitzing their groups.

Reply to your first paragraph:

I always get behind England and it still pisses me off when we get knocked out. Not because we don't deserve to but because since Euro 96 we've had a squad more than capable of winning any of the tournaments we were(n't) in but always under perform. You wouldn't mind seeing us go out if we "threw everything except the kitchen sink" at the opposition but we usually just fade out ungracefully, or on pens.... I will still never forgive Sven for bringing on Danny Mills (I think, my memory may have clouded that one) against 10 man Brazil in 2002!

Reply to second paragraph:

We were never gonna win any competition from the moment Cappello was given the job. Let's just give the job to Harry and get it over with. **** it, sack Capello. His contract is up after 2012 anyway? Just pay him off early.

Precisely, every English man, woman, and child knows that we will be skinned alive next summer which is so frustrating considering the talent we possess and the way those players play every weekend for their clubs. :S

Its started all ready, come back in a few years and no doubt everyone will be blaming whoever is in charge, people just cant admit out players arent good enough and no manager will change that.

But international football has a different style plus playing wigan is hardly the same as playing spain, you also have to consider that a lot of english players have top players from other nations playing along side them.

Look at their respective records.

What makes you think that Redknapp will be significantly better than Capello? It's the same group of players, unless Redknapp unearthes some hidden gems.

But you then also forget that most our players also perform to a similar standard in the Champions League...a tournament Sir Alex Ferguson believes to be the best tournament in world football.

I think its fine to call us an average team, but average players? I don't believe that.

We qualified, cheer up you miserable fuckers.

This.

Unreal some of the moaning, imagine what the taffs and the jocks must think, they will kill just go get to a major tournament.

Whats with all the negativity? No one really expects us to win a major tournament but the least we can do is qualify. Another thing, the way you play in the qualifiers and how well you play have next to nothing to do with how you fare in the finals.

Well done to the squad and manager for winning the group.

Rooney hasn't performed well in a major tournament since 2004 so maybe the ban will do him good..

Mind you some of the other players were shown up as well tonight.

Still I guess the press will expect us to win next year!

Tbh,We're ****ing England supposedly in the top ten in the world with out national team and we've drawn twice to Montengro....

We aren't going to win it, I hope we go there and give it our best, try and play some good football and create one or two memorable moments.

We didn't have any in 2010.

We still qualified for the tournament, in first place in the group.

Are we really complaining we haven't qualified and won the group well enough? We don't have a God given right to beat everyone, we're into the tournament, can we not just be pleased with that?
