Biggest surprises so far today:

Iceland beating Cyprus 1-0.

Not really that surprising. Iceland have been desperately unlucky in both their defeats to Norway and their defeat in the dying seconds in Parken. Good result for Malta as well against Georgia.

How the **** do you lose 4 - 1 to Estonia!? lol

By conceding four and only scoring one?

Anyways, all we need to do now is beat Lichtenstein and Spain (in Spain) and we'll take Poland.

Sounds easy possible on paper, more than likely we'll **** up v Lichtenstein.

Wow, even Liechtenstein managed that..

Hence his comment

On a side note, it's astonishing to see Armenia and Estonia do as well as they have. Especially the former's results are hugely impressive. Four-nil away against a WC 1/8-finalist? :o The topscorers by far in their group and I'm sure the Irish didn't expect that their final game against them would be the 'big one'.

Ireland held on to a nice 0-0 in Moscow. The Russians threw everything at them towards the end, but the Irish made it through.

Given with a great save from a header, too.

Can't understand Russia they promise so much yet they can put in some shockers. They are lucky they are in one of the weakest groups in my opinion.

The second Holland goal, scored by De Jong, was a great goal. Good move. Snieder (not sure how to spell his name) involved in them both, great player.

Lee Camp for the second Estonian goal lol

Did he mess up? Couldn't happen to anyone else. He is a top Championship goalkeeper, but also a git.

Badly. Long range shot, didn't know whether to use his hands or legs to stop it and went straight through him.

KOM SÅ DANMARK! :scarf:

We certainly showed those Norwegians who's the boss. Bendtner had a storming game! And his second one was a beauty. That'll shut up some of his critics... This result means we'll have at least second place secured with a win against Cyprus, and setting up a decider against Portugal in the final game.

It started off like it was going to be a cracker...up to the first goal and then it turned into a really really terrible exhibition of footy (bendtner's 2nd aside) - denmark deserved the win despite having to do little to secure it - norway were gash and drillo made some poor decisions, tho not as bad as aftenposten giving Wæhler an equal top scoring 4/6... and don't get me started on the ref, at least three of the cards were ball-winning tackles. frustrating.

The worst thing was, when denmark attacked they were so quick and sharp in the final third they always looked like scoring, whilst when norway made it into the final third it was like, 'well, who's going to do something' -so badly need a playmaker - i'd love to see fellah in the squad...

what are the odds on denmark screwing up against cyprus :giggle:

It's a bit of a mystery how Ireland kept a clean sheet. From the highlights, I think I saw about a dozen great and half-decent chances for Russia, who were desperately unlucky not to score. They're doing pretty much as I'd expect them to.

I think that's a bit harsh on Denmark. I think the passing they displayed first half was top notch (as good as can be expected of that squad anyway) and the two goals along with the two clear cut chances in the opening 10 minutes were quality. The way they restricted Norway to one shot on target and one free kick for the whole game was not just down to how terrible Norway were but also how well Denmark pressed.

Agree that the ref seemed particularly harsh. Could have been a red for Kjær as well shortly after Moa's only chance. Wæhler was terrible, probably only eclipsed by the abysmal Riise. However, thought Demidov was good and Tettey showed (very) brief glimpses of quality. As for Norway needing a playmaker, I completely agree. That said, they kept lumping balls forward almost the whole of the second half (ironically confirming the clichés about Norwegian football) and I don't see that changing as long as Drillo is in charge.

Hopefully odds of a slip up in Cyprus will be very low :sweating: Would be devastating to lose points there after all that hard work...

Haha, that would be so typical Denmark! Hope they get through. What a player Boilesen is! If he can improve the defensive side to his game he will be world class.

Lets not rush to superlatives :D But I agree. He's impressed hugely and already looks so accomplished at 19. Considering he was up against Norway's most threatening player in recent games, he did superbly defensively. His run forward with the ball at the end of the first half was just stunning. Never seen that from a Danish left-back. But if you think Boilesen will be world class, what about Eriksen? To be perfectly honest, he frightens me a bit, that's how good a talent he is. And without shadow of a doubt the greatest we've had since Agger or even Laudrup...

Gary Caldwell says Scotland expect to take full points from their Euro 2012 double header, despite facing the world champions on Tuesday.

Craig Levein's side travel to Liechtenstein and Spain with the aim of beating the Czech Republic to a play-off spot from Group I.

Scotland have eight points from six matches, but Caldwell believes that total could still rise to 14.

"I think we expect and still believe that we can qualify," he said.

"If we go out and get six points, I firmly believe that will get us into the play-off position.

"We would rather have qualified before going to Spain and we could maybe have enjoyed it a bit more. But it is what it is.

"Hopefully we find ourselves in the position where we are a point clear going into the Spain game and we can go there and try to beat the best team in the world.

"I think it would sum Scotland up that we go and do that to finally qualify.

"We can do it. We have done it in the past.

"We always seem to raise our game for the big nations and hopefully it can be a great night.

"But we have a big job to do on Saturday before we can look forward to that game."

The Wigan defender believes Scotland have grown over the course of the campaign into a more attack-minded team that is now capable of controlling games, rather than allowing the opposition to dictate their matches.

Since Levein has come in, Scotland's head coach has tried a lot of different systems and a lot of different players.

"I think we have found a system that suits us now and that is to attack and to have more of the ball and to try to control the games," he added.

"We can express ourselves and attack teams with more confidence and more ability to score goals.

"If you look at the squad, there is a lot more attacking flair than there has been in previous squads."

 - so we expect to qualify when realistically we have to beat Spain, in Spain?

It gets even worse when you look at the spain squad against ours:

Up front:

Spain - Torres, Villa, Silva, Mata, Pedro, Llorente, Negredo

Us - Miller, Goodwillie, Mackail-Smith

England need only a point from their Group G qualifier in Montenegro on Friday night to secure their place at Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine next summer.

The Three Lions are six points clear of Montenegro, who had been England's biggest rivals following a goalless draw at Wembley in October 2010.

The hosts enjoyed a flying start to their campaign in Group G, but have been undermined recently after taking just one point from games against Bulgaria and Wales.

England, who are playing the 900th game in their history on Friday, have pressed home their advantage of late with success in Bulgaria and a 1-0 home victory over Wales, results that have left Fabio Capello's men on the cusp of qualification.

The nation missed out on Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland following a surprise 3-2 home defeat to Croatia, however, they remain unbeaten so far in their Euro 2012 qualifiers.

What time's kick off tonight and has anyone got a stream please?

Meh, atleast this has some purpose (I know friendlies have a purpose as far as picking players, testing players out, e.t.c, I still see them as pointless though) but still hate international football unless it's played out of season.

Well, we'll win, but we won't be outstanding, we'll play poor, no doubt.

Rooney 1st scorer, England 2-0. Can't see us winning by any more than a 2 goal margin.
