MC Prussian Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 No wonder you bum the Prussians. Not quite. Although we are Little Germany. In many ways. But enough of the talking - I prefer us playing the role of the underdog in this group, anyway.
Uncle Albert Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 Are we still talking about how easy England's group is?
Hitesh Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 Anyone know when the fixtures will be decided?
Guest Bilo Posted 11 July 2010 Posted 11 July 2010 It all starts again before you know it..... England v Bulgaria Montenegro v Wales 3rd September 2010. Let the games begin. Again. NB: Germany are my early tips for this. That side has one hell of a future. The only certainty is the media getting their kecks in a twist again over the state of Poland and Ukraine's readiness for the tournament, seeing as UEFA have already expressed concern. We love it.
Bert Posted 11 July 2010 Posted 11 July 2010 Not impressed the games are going to be on a Friday night. We've 2 tough games, away at Switzerland and Bulgaria. 6 points from Wales, Montenegro, and Bulgaria and 4 from Switzerland.
The Doctor Posted 12 July 2010 Posted 12 July 2010 Scotlands fixtures Friday September 3, 2010 - Lithuania (away) Tuesday, September 7, 2010 - Liechtenstein (home) Friday, October 8, 2010 - Czech Republic (away) Tuesday, October 12, 2010 - Spain (home) Saturday, September 3, 2011 - Czech Republic (home) Tuesday, September 6, 2011 - Lithuania (home) Saturday, october 8, 2011 - Liechtenstein (away) Tuesday, October 11, 2011 - Spain (away) Nice start there but realistically everything needs to be sewn up by the last match.
C-man Posted 12 July 2010 Posted 12 July 2010 Gonna try and do some of these qualifiers. Looking at the first one and possibly Wales.

Lithuania away is not a nice start at all, and that's from any country's perspective not just because it's Scotland. Lithuania are decent and the pitch there is shocking.
The Doctor Posted 14 July 2010 Posted 14 July 2010 Lithuania away is not a nice start at all, and that's from any country's perspective not just because it's Scotland. Lithuania are decent and the pitch there is shocking. which is why it's good to go there right at the start - it's bound to be in better condition then than a couple of fixtures in. Besides as far as i've seen from watching bits of internationals lithuania are average at best. Would have prefered to have Liechtenstein first but it's better than opening with spain or the czechs.

Webbo Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I read in todays paper that our ex-loanee Stockdale was in the squad.
FoxyPV Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Scott Carson, Ben Foster, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, Matthew Upson, Michael Carrick, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Carlton Cole
The Doctor Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Cheered me up no end knowing they were in the squad (paticularly carson and cole). Though you're being a bit harsh on foster and johnson IMO
sdb Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 i'd happily have no international football for several months. at least i can get some work done next weekend
Webbo Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 The managers of Scotland, N Ireland, Ireland & Wales would sell their left bollock to get any of those players in their squad.
dandannieldanok Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Lescott? I forgot this guy even existed. On what basis has he been picked? Wright-Phillips? How many more dismal performances for both club and country will it take before his international career is put to bed? Carrick? Not started a game yet this season, similar to Wright-Phillips, always flatters to deceive. Carlton Cole? When was the last time this guy scored, or even played well. West Ham fans will struggle to tell you that never mind anyone else. Capello promised he'd blood some youngsters after the world cup debacle yet all he's done is continue to pick these squad-filling goobers that just clutter the books of decent premier-league clubs. I'm not advocating some kind of crèche squad full of under-21s but at least flush out this ^^ kind of player. Also the defence doesn't look too great with Terry and Ferdinand there but obviously hands tied on that one.
Edmund Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Why does Roger Johnson never get a look in? Solid CB from what I've seen.
Bugg Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Why does Roger Johnson never get a look in? Solid CB from what I've seen. Good shout, have always rated him. Also think a player like Cattermole would be good for the squad no matter how much of a dirty bastard some people think he is.
Edmund Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Good shout, have always rated him. Also think a player like Cattermole would be good for the squad no matter how much of a dirty bastard some people think he is. I do rate Cattermole, seems a solid player. Crouchback’s England squad : Joe Hart Micah Richards - Roger Johnson - Gary Cahill - Ashley Cole Theo Walcott - Jack Rodwell - Adam Johnson Darren Bent - Cameron Jerome - Jermain Defoe Lee Camp Glen Johnson Chris Smalling Jack Wilshere James Milner Peter Whittingham Andy Carroll

Crouchback’s England squad : Joe Hart Micah Richards - Roger Johnson - Gary Cahill - Ashley Cole Theo Walcott - Jack Rodwell - Adam Johnson Darren Bent - Cameron Jerome - Jermain Defoe Lee Camp Glen Johnson Chris Smalling Jack Wilshere James Milner Peter Whittingham Andy Carroll That's a fairly good squad - no doubt the biggest arguement should capello ever go for something like this is that quite a few players are very inexperienced at international level but how are they meant to gain experience without playing. One change I would make to that though is whittingham out and Fraizer Campbell or Danny Welbeck in.

Finnegan Posted 1 September 2010 Author Posted 1 September 2010 Please, please, please, please, please let there be no more international withdrawals. So what's the score going to be against Bulgaria, England fans? (I'm a silly twat, how did I miss the other thread? I started the fucking thing as well. Nightmare. Merge this would you? =P)
Finnegan Posted 1 September 2010 Author Posted 1 September 2010 We're going to piss this group if we keep everyone fit. Ramsey's going to come back to fitness in time to score eight by Joe Hart. COME ON!
