Sparky Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Spice of India is different class. Not got shit on the Bengal (Barrow) Yasmins (Sileby) or Asda for a few quid. Spice of india used to be good but last time i went was shit. Grand durbar or Feast India the 2 curry houses i tend to stick to now
Tevez Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Spice of india used to be good but last time i went was shit. Grand durbar or Feast India the 2 curry houses i tend to stick to now Oh yeah, Feast was alright when I went on works due.
Samilktray Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Grand Durbar is the best curry house outside of New Delhi.
Sparky Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Grand Durbar is the best curry house outside of New Delhi. Love the place. What i do wonder is if they have a different chef on weeknights as the quality seems nowhere near as good as weekends. Missus had curry few wednesdays ago and it was like water. Wont put me off though as ive never had a bad meal there
Alexikokopops Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Theyll make a lot of money being there, all the people who dont fancy going to Tesco or Asda cus they dont want much will go there, and then being on the edge of the industrial estate will be a nice little earner for them. Tescos did there research on this 1. They have an entire department whose main focus is deciding where to build new stores and analysing Clubcard information (with the aid of Dunnhumby)
Jay Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Tesco reps must have tried to drive into Grantham the last time I tried! Talk about the journey from hell. good job you didn't decide to come today then, A1 been closed all day and it's traffic chaos you can't move anywhere for traffic
Jon the Hat Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 I am awaiting a rumoured planning application for a Tesco Express directly behind my house. I am not happy, but preferring this to the 16 flats they wanted to build last year. Hoopfully the parking is at the front rather than the back...
Webbo Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Spice of India is different class. Not got shit on the Bengal (Barrow) Yasmins (Sileby) or Asda for a few quid. That's the bit of Asda that my wife works at. The curries there are pretty good.
BoneDog Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 I personally hate these barstewards Tesco. Soon it will be impossible to buy anything from anyone but a small group of mega-chains throughout the whole world. That will only lead to the poor becoming poorer and a very few controlling everything. That said, I do shop there all the frickin time and spend £90-£120 everytime I visit. I love them pissin hot Chickens they sell. I always buy one and a pack of wetwipes. I then eat the whole chicken while waiting outside for my taxi home and clean me face and hands up with about 35 wetwipes. It's always the highlight of my Tesco visits. (you need the wipes else you are gonna stink like hot Chicken grease. You'd kick off a right pong)

stez Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 M&S are opening a food store at Thurmaston retail park thing. FACT. (Subject to planning) we'll see how long that one lasts. how long was melton's one there for? 6 months? good job you didn't decide to come today then, A1 been closed all day and it's traffic chaos you can't move anywhere for traffic it was an awful one, did you here what (apparently) happened?
Jay Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 we'll see how long that one lasts. how long was melton's one there for? 6 months?it was an awful one, did you here what (apparently) happened? The Grantham Journal Informs me a van driving the wrong way through roadworks hit another car and burst into flames and then he did a runner from the scene. It does make you worried that you can be driving in a perfectly safe manner and yet what appears to be the actions of an idiot can take your life away so easily

Webbo Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 Neither do I , Syston is a hotbed for rumours atm. Latest rumour I heard today. The old Stead and Simpson warehouse is going to become a Morrisons.
dandannieldanok Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 Latest rumour I heard today. The old Stead and Simpson warehouse is going to become a Morrisons. It's going to be a Morrisons distribution warehouse and not an actual superstore is what I've heard.
Salieri Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 TV adverts in general irritate me, but those condescending fucking Tesco adverts...
stez Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 well, sure know how to entice me with a proper deal.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 One of the stewards yesterday was using a Tesco bag as a hat. Tried to get a photo, but crap phone + long distance prevented me.
Jimothy Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 well, sure know how to entice me with a proper deal. Bloody hell, thats a cracking offer. Better rush uo there before they're all gone!
Arkie Bennett Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Love the place. What i do wonder is if they have a different chef on weeknights as the quality seems nowhere near as good as weekends. Missus had curry few wednesdays ago and it was like water. Wont put me off though as ive never had a bad meal there I had a pricey, but very mediocre, takeaway from there a couple of weeks ago. Mrs Bennett and me prefer Feast India.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 16 March 2010 Author Posted 16 March 2010 Seems Everards has sold off part of the Blackbird carpark (Anstey Ln/Colwell Rd) to Tescos so we'll soon have a tesco, spar, aldi, coop and newsagents in 100 meters of each other. Crazyness.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 Squatters at Tesco site in Stokes Croft are evicted Tesco are trying to set up a store in the stokes croft area of Bristol - safe to say some are against this. Quite mad scenes really, but they're right Tesco doesn't need to be their but it's just another area where they can set up their domination.
