davieG Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 From OS Leicester City goalkeeper Conrad Logan has signed a new contract with the club, which will keep him at the Walkers Stadium until the summer of 2012 Logan, 23, has been with the club since 2000 after signing from Irish club Swilly Rovers. Logan made his league debut against Colchester in September 2006, and has made twenty appearances for the Foxes to date. We were trying to off load him to Luton this time last year so he must have improved one hell of an amount to have got it. Perhaps he has had a change in attitude and eating habits. Good luck to him.

I saw him in maryland chicken about 3 weeks ago. No lie!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 He's our number 2 keeper. Of course we'll keep him abit longer.
dandannieldanok Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 He's our number 2 keeper. Of course we'll keep him abit longer. Exactly, it makes complete sense. Logan is likely to be on small wages and he has Championship experience, easy decision for the club to make.
Thracian Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Clearly City have offered him a reasonable deal and I can understand why. What is perhaps harder to understand is Logan's choosing to stick with the club rather than go for a nailed on starting place at a low League club. But my guess is that Stowell has faith in him, Pearson has come around to that poiint of view, there is value in having a steady deputy and, most important, Logan may have been persuaded that goalkeeper's often don't reeach their peak until rather later than outfield players. As for Logan himself he's pleasantly surprised me. I always saw him as a decent keeper and I did wonder if the lack of first team action might see him just tootle along. But only at the Doncaster match I remarked to the guy alongside me that Logan has looked progressively sharper, totally focused during pre-match warm up and some of the saves he's made, albeit on in a training situation, have been top drawer. He wouldn't have signed the deal if he'd not been happy and, that being the case I'm delighted for him. He seems well thought of as player and person by everyone I've spoken to in and around the club in the last few years and I believe he'll prove a talented and reliable member of the squad.
Corky Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 He's useful for Chris Powell's penalties after the warm-up. Good news.

Not too fussed with this news as there's no way he could shift Weale out the team, however if injuries have their say I might be a bit worried!
shen Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Pearson is clearly preparing for the Champions League by securing our home-grown talent..

Displacing a number one is very difficult to do, even at a lower league club, it is by no way nailed on. You'll find that a lot of keepers that move on from a number two position, find themselves again as a number two. Cudicini is a classic example. Of course there are examples to the contray (such as our very own Chris Weale) but especially for a young keeper, it's hard to go to a new club, new town and new faces and secure a number one jersey.
00rawat Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Not to sure about logan i think he is a average keeper at best.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 I'm pleased for him, I think he is an ideal back up keeper.

Same here, not the bit at the Doncaster match though. Provides decent back up I suppose.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 February 2010 Posted 16 February 2010 CONRAD LOGAN, IRELAND'S NUMBER TWELVE.
Jimmy Posted 17 February 2010 Posted 17 February 2010 he was funny in the warm up last night when that jobsworth gorunds man wouldn't let Chris Powell take a penalty
