Weale - 7

McGivern - 5 - Don't rate him at all, no positional sense and kept closing down their central midfielders which left their right winger free

Hobbs - 8 - Rock solid but why oh why did he go for the shot at the end!

Morrison - 7 - Solid

Solano - 7 - Very impressed with his distribution, started several attacks with his superb passing

Wellens - 7 - Good game from him today

Oakley - 5 - Was ok first half, but his job is to put a foot on it and find a Leicester player...which he didn't do very well today

King - 7.5 - Would be an 8 or 9 for his first half performance but he got caught in possession a lot in the second half

Dyer - 7 - Looked a threat throughout

Gallagher - 6 - Was in his element in the first 20 minutes but non-effectual in the the second

Waghorn - 7 - Worked his socks off and caused them constant problems

Yann - 5 - Poor, TWICE stopped to moan at the ref while the ball was still in play

Howard - N/A

Brown - 6 - Won some important headers

Yann - TWICE stopped to moan at the ref while the ball was still in play

I wasn't sure if that was him the first time but I've got to agree that fucked me off no end. They should just keep on playing unless they hear a whistle, simple.

Pretty fair, I thought Wellens was our worst player first half and McGivern was the best i've seen him (that doesn't mean good) although his tendancy to come inside does offer opponents far too much space out wise like you say. Don't think the Howard sub was particularly worthwhile or threatening. Looking at out chock-a-block fixture list i guess we're gonna need to rotate a little, not sure how that'll pan out.

Usually after i go to a game it's at least 24 hours before i get online and by then i cant be assed to rate, now i get to watch at home and i still cant be bothered after what was a bit of a capitulation!

Weale - 7

McGivern - 5 (he wasn't his usual catastrophe but he gave their winger far too much space to run at him and he kept backing off. He got beaten far too often and let the crosses fly in)

Hobbs - 7 (somebody needed to tell the defence and midfield to push further up and close down their attackers, but nobody did so we sat back too deep)

Morrison - 7

Nobby - 7 (some great balls in the first half, then he joined with everyone else and kept lumping it in the second, great save on the line though)

Oakley - 6 (he's the weak link in the midfield in my opinion, he's not quick enough to be the forward breaking midfielder we need)

King - 8 (good finish for the first goal, good header for the second but couldn't really have missed from there)

Wellens - 7 (good good passes, some hollywood balls again)

Gallagher - 7 (great crosses into the box)

Waghorn - 7.5 (superb chasing and gave their defenders no time on the ball, which was the key to our success in the first half. He tired badly and we missed his running at the end)

Dyer - 8* (great performance, unlucky not to nick the winner at the end)

Subs:

Yann - 5 (did he win anything in the air? Nothing seemed to go right for us after he came on)

Brown - 6 (good in the air, don't know where he and the others were for the equaliser)

Howard - N/A (he gave away his usual free kick by jumping with his arms everywhere)

McGivern was far from great, like someone said he has little positional sense and isn't composed on the ball at all. Coventry figured this out pretty quickly.

Weale - 8 - Gd, not really at fault for the goals.

McGivern - 5 - Thinks he's playing at centre back, so let their winger get through too often.

Hobbs - 8 - Immense, 9 if not for that woeful shot.

Morrison - 7 - Decent.

Solano - 6 - Some excellent balls, some terrible ones. Hoofed it far too often in the second half.

Wellens - 7 - Decent.

Oakley - 6 - Didn't notice him a lot. Nothing that bad to be fair, just not that influential.

King - 8 - Good 1st goal, shoulda buried the header.

Dyer - 8.5 - MOTM, good "tricky to deal with" cross that led to 1st goal. Beat his man a few times and nearly nicked it at the end.

Gallagher - 6 - Good 1st half, bad 2nd.

Waghorn - 8 - Great Effort and commitment, won us countless throwins in the 2nd half. Why was everyone hoofing it to his head though, ridiculous!

Yann - 5 - Stop moaning, especially if your gonna play crap.

Howard - The normal foul then complain.

Brown - 6 - A Beast in the air.

Pearson - 6 - A good teamtalk could have prevented our capitulation in the 2nd half. But to be fair he set the team up well, gd gameplan until everyone just started hoofing it at 5foot Waghorn.

Weale - 7 - Couldn't do much about either goal.

McGivern - 6 -Actually one of his better games. Sadly, thats not saying much.

Hobbs - 7 - Solid as always.

Morrison - 7 - Another assured performance.

Solano - 7 - Distribution a bit hit and miss, saved a certain goal though.

Wellens - 7 - Put himself about, decent game.

Oakley - 6 - Not great, went missing a lot.

King - 7.5 - Two goals, took his first beautifully.

Dyer - 7.5 - Very lively, used his pace to good effect.

Gallagher - 7 - Excellent first half hour, faded 2nd half.

Waghorn - 7.5 - Never stopped running, wholehearted display.

Yann - 5 - Still to be convinced about this guy.

Howard - N/A

Brown - 6 - Came on and won a few headers.

Spot on, would maybe rate Dyer a bit higher. King overall worthy of 7.5, as he scored twice, but was non-existent for long periods.

McGivern less crap than usual but needs to realise that the left back position is not a floating role, where he can move into centre mid at his own discretion

Solano - 7.5 -Some great passing, saved a certain goal

Weale - 7

McGivern - 4 - Cant say anything that hasnt been said so many times before.

Hobbs - 7 - Average.

Morrison - 7 - Average.

Solano - 7 - Disappointed he went off but maybe he had too.

Wellens - 7 - Good game, but his shooting is shite.

Oakley - 6.5 - Not that good in 2nd half, disappeared like the rest of the midfield.

King - 7.5 - Didnt do all that much in the second but neitehr did anyone else in the middle. Had a terrific first half though, was at the centre of everything.

Dyer - 7 - Pace always looked dangerous, and lasted most of the match.

Gallagher - 5.5 - Did nothing. Cant header, doesnt seem to ever want to sprint. Wanted Dany on for him.

Waghorn - 7 - 100% effort but no end product. Thought he should have done better with one chance.

Yann - 4 - Does fook all. Waste of time bringing him on as he offers little.

Howard - N/A - Would have been better coming on much earlier

Brown - 5.5 - Didnt do too much.

King 7

Wellens 7

Oakley 6

Dyer 8.5

Gallagher 6

Waghorn 6

Brown 6

Kermorgant 5

Howard 5

I think Kermorgant just needs a goal, and he'll change a lot. The guy has technique, but I get the impression the lack of goals is weighing on him.

In this game, we needed N'Guessan as a sub. As soon as we got rid of Gallagher and Waghorn, we lost a lot of pace and running. This game called for N'Guessan, strrong and able to run and close onto loose balls. Howard did the usual thing where he just creates freekicks for the opposing.

Posted

Weale - 7 - Didn't have a lot to do except collect a few crosses. Nothing he could do on the goals.

Solano - 7 - Faded late on but the 70 yard cross-field pass to Gally in the first half is worth the 7 alone.

McGivern - 5 - I'm yet to see him play with any confidence, positional sense or attacking threat. Poor again today,

Hobbs - 8 - Here, there and everywhere but he should probably make that his last 35 yard effort this season!

Morrison - 7 - Annother solid game but didn't look impressed at being pushed out on the right again.

Oakley - 6 - Missed a great chance late on, can't find a blue shirt with at least half his passes just lately.

King - 7 - Two more for Kingy but he vanished in the 2nd half.

Wellens - 6 - Doesn't control games like he did early in the season, looked worn out after an hour.

Dyer - 7 - Our best attacking threat, Cov kept him under control in the 2nd half though.

Gallagher - 6 - Some neat flicks & tricks but wasn't in the thick of it enough.

Waghorn - 7 - Unlucky with a chance at 2-0, had seven shades kicked out of him but kept running into the channels.

Subs

Kermorgant - 5 - Would do better to play to the whistle and moan at the ref after the ball's gone out.

Brown - Not his fault, but another change in the back four didn't help late on.

Howard - No time to make a real impact.

Posted

Weale - 7 - Don't think he can talk.

McGivern - 6

Hobbs - 7.5 - Immense

Morrison - 7.5 - Also, a good player.

Solano - 7 - Not sure why he was subbed, played well, some nice passes.

Wellens - 7.5 - Make the midfield tick superbly. Here, there and everywhere.

Oakley - 6 - Offers nothing really. Shame we don't have a good back up midfielder.

King - 7.5

Dyer - 8 - Tricky, explosive. Should have beat Wright more times though.

Gallagher - 7

Waghorn - 8 - Great commitment and full effort. The hoofing is ridiculous!

Yann and Howard offers nothing, never going to score.

Brown good in the air.

I cant be bothered with ratings but some of my opinions on some the players, from actaully being there...

Even though the 2nd was offside IMO, Weale shouldnt of came out his goal.

Kingy was superb again and deserved his goals.

Wellens still is poor, cant kick a ball forwards, has to go backwards EVERYTIME.

Dyer & Hobbsy were outstanding.

McGivern's best game, but nowhere near great

Some of Nobby's balls were out of this world.

Pearson's subs were terribly timed.

Weale - 7 no chance with their goals and not much else to do.

McGivern - 7 one of his better games for 60 or so minutes then reverted to his usual performance after being clouded by that delap wannabe

Hobbs - 7

Morrison - 7

Solano - 8 played well, saved the shot on the line - for the last 10 minutes of his game he resorted to hoofball a bit though

Wellens - 8 played some good early balls including one that nearly set dyer in for a 3rd

Oakley - 7 kept running but to little effect

King - 8 scored two, tidied up well but went missing a bit in the second half

Dyer - 8

Gallagher - 7

Waghorn - 8

Kermorgant - 6 didn't do much at all

Howard - 6 didn't have much effect though seemed to me like he should have had a late penalty when their centre back went over the top of him, suprise suprise the ref gives a free kick to them instead

Brown - 7 fairly solid

Weale - 7

McGivern - 5.5 - My heart sinks when he gets the ball he just looks so woeful with it like he's gonna lose it any second.. He ain't bad in the air but on the ground he just doesn't fill me with confidence at all

Hobbs - 7.5 - Solid game think he got found out once during the game which nearly led to a goal, overall like i said solid

Morrison - 7 - I really like this lad i believe he's gonna be a huge star at Leicester i hope

Solano - 7 - Filled in pretty well and has played RB for Peru on numerous occasions.. Love it how he always looks for the pass can be dangerous tho but overall played well and a vital goal line clearance

Wellens - 7 - First half good second half like most of the lads just wasn't with it, some nice passes and one which led up to the goal if i'm right

Oakley - 5 - I really don't wanna do this but once again Oakley was pure rubbish, he hasn't got the legs anymore it was quite embarrasing him trying to run onto a pass and he looked like he would have never got there.. Passing was iffy, tackling was okish but overall just not good enough

King - 7.5 - Best midfielder today for us but faded as the game went on due to us playing poorly.. Took his first goal very well, second goal he should have buried it with the head but still got the luck

Dyer - 7 - Was tearing Stephen Wright a new asshole most of the first half but another that faded due to us playing hoofball

Gallagher - 6 - Wasn't that impressed with Gallagher today, was ok 1st half and like most of the team just didn't show 2nd half

Waghorn - 7 - Should have had about 893 fouls today and got fudge all, worked his socks off and i like that in a player

Yann - 4 - Ummmm?

Howard - N/A - Fouls

Brown - 6 - Beast in the air, bambi on the ball!

--------------------

Oh and can i just say i liked the pre match build up for the game on BBC seemed to do alot more than Sky do...but the commentary was wank imo

Gallagher wasn't it? Wellens played Gally in though!

AND, Wellens played a wonderful reverse pass into Dyer in the build up to King's first, so the point made was complete tosh, you're right.
