marknotts Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 There was a new chant being sung in L1 but I couldn't work out what it was.
Babylon Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 There was a new chant being sung in L1 but I couldn't work out what it was. "We're not very loud, we're not very loud, we're not very, we're not very. we're not very loud". He's right we're shit, I thought we should have been urging the team on a bit more. We were just complacent and so were the team.
Matt Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Were we loud enough your thoughts please http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=65245&view=findpost&p=1591284 There was a new chant being sung in L1 but I couldn't work out what it was. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=48419&view=findpost&p=1590683
whitlock Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 We're hardly a very vocal stadium, we are in parts to be fair. Not much to sing about when coventry were playing football in our penalty box all second half.
Ozwin Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 When you're on the back foot for the whole 2nd half there's not a lot to get vocal about.
purpleronnie Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Well I can only go on what it sounded like on the TV but even the first half the fans sounded very very quiet.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 The good thing is.. Each year more people are realizing L1 is where its at . Me n my mates will be going in there next year and im sure a few more people will, if all singers surrounded the away fans either side, a better atmosphere would be created.

Yeah if the club hadn't fvcked up N block I think we'd have a pretty decent atmosphere by today's standards. Maybe Brown should have his little moan at the cvnts in suits that decided they didn't want an atmosphere in the ground.

It's been quieter, I didn't think it was that bad on Sunday, IMO the ground is getting better, slowly but year by year it is getting more of an atmosphere - Not saying it's good, just saying it's improved ever so slightly.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 no just no, The atmosphere was atrocious. The only times its been buzzing was Leeds, Newcastle, S****horpe(league trophy) and Forest.

Yeah, but to be honest I'd say most grounds only ever produce a very good atmosphere a few times a year. Best atmosphere at the Walkers was the night game Birmingham a few seasons ago in the 06/07 season. Main trouble is with bowl-design stadiums you need to get the thing filled, which we haven't done consistently this season, although hopefully that will change in the last few games in the push for a PO place. The atmosphere on Sunday was awful, but only 21,000 home fans and a Sunday 2pm KO doesn't help. As many people have said, most fans looked forward to the Forest game more than last Sunday's anyway, although it really should have been better nonetheless. The club have hardly helped, but I suppose at the end of the day it's because the ground is boring and so are the majority of our fans...our away ends were top last season but this season even our away support has been rubbish vocally. Our support this season at Cov, Forest and Ipswich in particular was embarrassing...don't think we've been excellent on the road once this year, only times imo we've been better than average were the midweek games at Sheff Utd and QPR.
turkish14 Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 I blame it on the bbc for using lee jobbers drum stand, therefore lee having to play the drum from the bottom of the stand. I think after the 1st goal he left the drum where it was and headed back up th his muckers. Prior to the cov game i think the noise has been very good especially with the drum in use it seems to really get L1 then the rest of the ground going

The problem is the fact that the kop is filled with old farts who need alot of convincing to get behind the team when things are going well but are on their backs the moment anything bad happens. The west stand is full of suits who couldn't care less about the match and the north stand is almost always half empty at least leaving just the east stand making any noise.

And let's face it, - Jobber, nice bloke though he is, is hardly John Bonham is he?
Maybes Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Id rather Wayne Brown concentrate on doing a job on the pitch rather than comment on how loud/quiet the fans were After all we are the ones that pay his wages
Chairman of the Bored Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Sunday 2pm? Personally, I was just coming out of "Church Mode" and still singing the praises of Our Lord. Not the best time of day for a bit of fitba. I promise to be loud tomorrow evening.
ousefox Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 The only decent atmosphere we have had in recent weeks was against Forest and it was OK vs Cardiff. Carnival de Paris sounded suprisingly good in both of these games and although might not be everyones favourite chant, it definately gets everybody going.
Corky Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 The problem was, in the second half we were sitting back and the fans were nervous. If we were still going for goals then I think the fans would've been more vocal and positive. The atmosphere in the first half was okay.
Ozwin Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 What teams have vocal home support really? I mean even Old Trafford is quiet as, but I suppose plastics/day trippers will do that. Away support is where it's at.
C-man Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 What teams have vocal home support really? I mean even Old Trafford is quiet as, but I suppose plastics/day trippers will do that. There are plenty with more vocal home support than us. Teams aren't always going to be loud and noise levels are obviously dependent upon loads of factors, but I think it's reasonable for Wayne to suggest we were quiet on Sunday. Even when we were 2-0 up we were only average.
