Given the technical glitch (I wanted Neilson and McGivern) I went for Bruno and Morrison.

Morrison was a no brainer - given his age, his background, the fact he stepped up to the plate when called for (after being left out at the start of the season and then brought in in a different role) and the fact that he knows where the net is

Think about it... how can you give the awards like that? If you think Hobbs is player of the season how can he not also be young player of the season.

I deliberately chose Hobbs as player of the season, but Morrison as young player, because they are 2 seperate awards and I chose to give to 2 different players, it's called democracy.

The absence of a first choice left back shouldn't make such a difference to the side.

However, that's what Berner does because he is such an accomplished player - he instils confidence, experience and composure to the team. Apart from Weale, not one player has matched him for consistency.

I also chose Hobbs as young player of the season.

what no option for Neilson? :giggle:

On a serious note,

Weale for player of the season, he's been an absolutely fantastic signing. Wouldn't be where we are now without some of his spectacular saves.

Although Hobbs has clearley had a blinding season and is one of our best. My young vote goes to Morrison, who I believe has been first class, despite being in and out of the team and in two different positions. Dependable and solid, well done that lad! :appl:

Berner and Hobbs.

It was our of Weale and Berner for me but i think it has to be Bruno after seeing how much of a difference it makes when he isn't playing.

Weale and King who's had to carry a disappointing experienced Oakley and a wildly inconsistent Wellens

Swap Weale for Logan and we'd see a fair bit of difference too.

Went for Berner and Hobbs.

Weale has been excellent but his success has been helped thanks to a pretty solid defence in front of him, at this moment of time I can't see past Berner. But it is nice to have lots of good players to choose from.

nope these awards are meritocracies, someone can win both if they are eligible for both, must of happened with the PFA awards at somepoint

The lack of recognition and appreciation for Matty Fryatt is preposterous.

I went for Wellens - so underated and doesn't miss many games.

Young player goes to Waghorn, Hobbs was close but has had a couple of dodgy games e.g. Forest, Sheff Wed. Also if Waghorn officially got young player of the year, he would push for a move to us. Who would want to go back to the bench rather than having a great time at a high flying championship side.

The lack of recognition and appreciation for Matty Fryatt is preposterous.

He had a good season but its unlikely that he can get player of the year after missing a third of it. He should have won player of the year last season, noone was complaining about lack of appreciation then. Only Matty Fryatt could score 30 goals in a season and still not win anything.

Fryatt is being criminally underrated here to be honest.

This.

People seem to forget that for a time at the start of the season, Fryatt was carrying the team on his own. Even since then, until his injury, he was improving all the time. The run against Newcastle was one of the great Walkers Stadium moments, if he'd tucked that away things would have got messy.

Hobbs, Berner and King all get honorable mentions. Weale has been solid but I can't believe how many votes he's got. He's only indispensible because Logan's so shit.

For me has to be Weale, i think his consistency has been fantastic, what a fantastic spot by Stowell.

Young Player: Jack Hobbs, fantastic this year, has really shown a maturity beyond my expectations of him.

Purely based on the games I've managed to go to and watch on TV I voted for Bruno Berner and Martyn Waghorn. Berner is so important to us in my opinion and he has really grown on me. It is abit ridiculous how we can rely so heavily on a left back but he is solid and gives the team alot more confidence. We generally play better and get better results when he plays in my opinion. I'm also a really big fan of Waghorn, he puts in an enormous amount of effort, fantastic strength and maturity far beyond his age and of course stepped up during the absence of Fryatt to keep our playoff campaign going.

Special mentions to:

Weale - Similar to Berner in that he gives us so much confidence as we know we have a dependable keeper, and of course made the odd unbelievable save for us.

Morrison - Incredible how far he has come in the last couple of years. In two years he has come from the Conference to fitting very comfortably into a high flying Championship side, and doing so in different positions from time to time, top class, well done to the lad.

Hobbs - 400k? Cheers Liverpool! You practically gave us one of the most instrumental players of a side capable of gaining promotion to the Premier League, much appreciated. Didn't look out of place in League One, as previously mentioned, abit shakey during the start of the season but has really come into his own, massive player for us this season.

King - Also come a long way in the last couple of years, our best midfielder over the course of the season and only just missed out to Waggers for my vote for young player.

Fryatt - Very unfortunate to be out for this long, proven to many of his doubters wrong this season, always puts himself about during games, looks alot faster, stronger and fitter than the last time around in the Championship. There is definately a class about him and he is generally a very good finisher in front of goal, sure he may miss a few but he is always in the right positions to make the chances, it's more worrying if we don't create chances than it is if we don't take them.
