Frenzied Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 "Utter shambles"? Numpty. Of the people queueing overnight yesterday, I think I'm right than none lived "in Leicester". I'd come in from Wigston, there were people from Warwickshire, and Thurnby, I think. Inviting 12000 STHs to phone up for 250 tickets would have been seen by many as a money-spinning lottery. (Err, so that's a lottery, then). And there'd have been no filtering of who got the tickets. The club seem to have been genuinely surprised that any tickets were left for P3, but it's certainly true that there were nowhere near enough for one each. Had the club heralded the tickets in the Mercury, then you'd have seen a shambles. I think the dedication of fans who check out the club website, and are prepared to put themselves out a bit, is being rewarded with these unexpected handful of tickets. I do sympathise with fans who live a long way from Leicestershire, for whom a speculative journey may not be possible, but I'm giving the ticket office on this one. Usually I wouldn't feel the need to respond but I thought I'd express my admiration for the endeavour and dedication you've shown in getting from Wigston to the Walkers Stadium. What did you do? Charter a helicopter to take you down the Welford Road? There was absolutely no need for the club to change the way it sold these tickets. There have been other important games in recent years and they didn't change the system for them. See Stoke away two seasons ago, for example.

maddog Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Have the away tickets sold out yet Considering there were apparently only 250 left on Saturday for 250 not to personally go to the TO on Saturday, Sunday and the couple of hours this morning is poor. I thought they would be gone by this time Saturday.

Craig Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 200 left this morning according to a friends Facebook. What the hell is going on with our ticket office. There was 350 tickets left on friday morning, apparently. There's been overnight queues for the last few nights, but we STILL haven't sold out!?

Seems weird, I actually think we might have been given a few extra but the club haven't advertised it, stopping a mad rush and just carry on slowing them slowly?
Maybes Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Seems weird, I actually think we might have been given a few extra but the club haven't advertised it, stopping a mad rush and just carry on slowing them slowly? Heard rumours of Cardiff giving us an extra 1200 yesterday. Not sure whether its true, although the chap who informed me is good mates with Jim.
Karljohn Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Said 250 on the ticket office door on friday night, queue must have been 100-125 on saturday morning and many near me at the front were looking for more than 1. Just wonder if its these extra 125 we had in the family stand? even so I would expect them all to be gone now.
C-man Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Apparently P1 and P2 sales weren't as high as we were told or as the club expected. There were much more than 250 left for P3s. From something that looked quite promising, this whole semi-final has turned into a complete mess of a ticketing policy.
CosbehFox Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 For example a single mum going to the football with her 3 kids would have to get some else to go to the ticket office with her to get the other 2 tickets or would have to make multiple visit. Absolute joke. When I got tickets for the away game last week, there was a premise like this. A Mum wanted 2 adults and 2 kids. Not allowed. I suggested to her that I help out but she only had a credit card. So couldn't get the cash out or pay me back. I think we've had more for the away game too. I know someone who went Saturday morning and said the queue was defo in the range of 250.
James. Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Just got mine. 180 left apparently, on general sale from tomorrow morning.
Ric Flair Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Where's best to booze before the game on Wednesday, my train gets in at 2.30pm so i've got 5 hours to get some swigging done. Head Honcho (Alan) fancy meeting up for a skinfull?
martyn Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Presumably they're only available for personal callers to the ticket office? Bit of a shitter that I live in London sometimes if so...
Ric Flair Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Just got mine. 180 left apparently, on general sale from tomorrow morning. What's your travel arrangements for this one squire? Presumably they're only available for personal callers to the ticket office? Bit of a shitter that I live in London sometimes if so... James lives in Whitechapel, so you should be ok pal as he's just got some.

Hackney now but yeah still London. Picking it up at the stadium. Notice you've seen my post in the other thread re travel arrangements. Expensive, probably a disaster in the making and invovles little sleep but f**k it I couldn't resist.
Mikey Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Wasn't gonna go to this but thought 'fook it' and now I appear to have a ticket. Can't wait. EDIT: Rang up before we went, around 4ish, and they said there was 'about 100 left.' Also, Fox Travel is sold out.

Dont know how many fox coaches are going but we (Philce and me) are on Coach 5..

I know someone who went Saturday morning and said the queue was defo in the range of 250. Rang Jim at the TO at 4.30 on friday, said 300 left, and then 5pm website update said 250. Queued all night with leftsideoverhere and a few other lads, queue was 100-125 when I departed the Walkers at 9.05am saturday morning but many wanted multiple's, one lad had 5 season ticket books on him so I am amazed to hear reports of 100 left. Just wonder if they have today had some returns after yesterday's defeat or a batch they had set aside for the suits was knocked back. Those 30 set aside for the exec travel etc? Who knows but its making the club look a little daft now, I understand they didn't want hordes of people down there scrapping over 250-300 tickets but they've ended up offering up an undisclosed amount to members and general sale!
Foxy1984 Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Does anyone know i the tickets wil be on sale over the phone tomorrow? I live in bristol - so the cardiff match would be easy for me to get to - but I can't get to the ticket office! I can't believe I didn't drag my dad to the ticket office on saturday to buy one with his season ticket!

Bizarre that they are still easily available.
Podge Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 I just got one with no hassle on general sale on the phone. Pick them up at Cardiff. Bizarre that they are still easily available. It is strange, we must have been given a fair few more tickets by Cardiff, since I was about 120-odds in the queue according to jobber when he walked the line to see how many were queueing and there was at least another good 25-30 people behind me in the queue. No way that less then 100 tickets lasted from that early on Saturday till now.
Foxy1984 Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 I got 2 tickets this morning at 9am with ease. They said they had 100 at that time
CheshireFox Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 if i didnt live about 4 hours away from Cardiff and had work etc i would definitely be getting tickets now that theres some left, but i cant believe that the selling arrangements have meant that the day before the game there are still tickets left!! what a joke, i just hope that we sell them all today- how rubbish will we look if we havent sold out our allocation?? especially after sunday wasnt a sell out. poor show by the ticket office imo.

They're just the normal selling arrangements for away games, it's poorly worded on ticket info, basically says there was no chance of tickets being available after Saturday.
