Points for April and May

West Brom (A)

QPR (H)

Peterborough (A)

Watford (H)

Preston (A)

Middlesborough (H)

I'm too superstitious to make any predictions but always nice to know what others are thinking.

18 points available there.

74 points were needed for the play-offs last season. We're currently on 61, 13 short of that figure...

That's being pessimistic, but I'm afraid I predicted the same - shows that I maybe a half empty glass person.

West Brom (A) DRAW 1-1. The rot ends and we put in a solid performance to get a creditable point.

QPR (H) WIN 2-1. Not the same QPR we met in October by a long way, and we beat them then.

Peterborough (A) WIN 1-0. If they know a defeat will relegate them, they won't make it easy. The table doesn't lie though and we will win through.

Watford (H) WIN 2-0. Have gone backwards massively and are in real relegation trouble. We can exacerbate their fears.

Preston (A) DRAW 1-1. Outclassed us at the Walkers but we can improve. Still a tough old trip though to round off the season.

Middlesborough (H) DRAW 1-1. Rejuvenated and making something of a late play-off charge. Will fall just short of doing so as we confirm our spot.

11 points from April/May and 72 overall to confirm our place in the play-offs.

We're not going to go unbeaten until the end of the season. 10 points.

WEST BROM (A) - 1pt- The boys rally after 3 consecutive defeats and put in a tireless performance in front of the sky cameras, walking away with a hard earned point

QPR (H)- 3pts- A QPR side with little to play for and with their minds already thinking of the beach should bring three points for the foxes at home in front of a big crowd

PETERBOROUGH (A)- 1pt- A real banana skin of a game for Leicester who will find the going tricky against a Jim Gannon side enjoying a mini revival at London Road

WATFORD (H)- 3pts- A game that will not be pleasing on the eye as the hornets scrap for points in their battle against the drop, but Leicester will squeeze through by the odd goal in a real battle of a game

PRESTON (A)- 0pts- A defeat on the road at Deepdale who have already disposed of Leicester twice this season and are traditionally strong at home against us, lead by the pacey Danny Welbeck

MIDDLESBROUGH (H)- 1pt- Hopefully by then the result wont matter, but Middlesbrough will be looking to go out on a high, and may still be fighting for points themselves. Tension around the Walkers will give rise to a nervy game indeed.

A grand total of 9 points which may, may just be enough. Lets all come together and see us over the line!

I'm going for 9 - 10 if we draw against West Brom -

I believe 9 might be enough - considering others fixtures.

Got this up today, bit annoyed again though how the boys at Sky twist it a bit - not my intention at all. Sky blog

Apart from the body of text it gives the impression NP is under pressure, and as for the bit at the end And would they survive in the Premier League anyway? >_<>_<>_<

WBA - 1pt

QPR - 3pts

Peterboro - 3pts

Watford - 3pts

Preston - 1pt

Middlesboro - 3pts

14 points from 18 and a 5 place finish (ahead of the losers in the cardiff - swansea game this saturday).

6 points for me.

I think West Brom will be too strong. Peterborough should be 3 points in the bag but Watford will be tough, they've got a right fight going on at the bottom.

West Brom- 0

QPR- 3

Peterborough- 3

Watford- 3

Preston- 0

Middlesbrough- 3

12 points, should be enough to secure our play-off place.

WBA - 3 points, confidence boosting win.

QPR - 3 points, even with Warnock, they're not what they were.

Peterborough - 1 point, too confident, they'll be up for it, sloppy performance.

Watford - 3 points, we'll go for a win, almost securing our play-off place.

Preston - 0 points, bogey team for us I believe.

Boro - 1 point, we'll be in the play-offs by then, surely :fc:

Nothing like a bit of optimism.

So that's 11 points, putting us in the play-offs, although I don't think we'll need that many, as Blackpool have some tricky fixtures coming up, and the other teams will need great runs to get upto 70+.

West Brom (A)- 1 point- battling point against a very good side.

QPR (H)- 3 points- back at home- must be looking for all 3 points.

Peterborough (A)- 3 points- think we'll go on a decent run. They'll have nothing to lose so could be tricky.

Watford (H)- 1 point- Tough game against a side battling against relegation.

Preston (A) - 0 points- Lost twice already against them. Hopefully there'll be a change but i predict a loss.

Middlesborough (H)- 3 points- Last minute winner from Fryatt to seal our play-off place.

= 11 points (I predict we need 9 more points for playoff)

Posted

West Brom (A) - 0 - They're on the verge of sealing automatic promotion, and I can't see them giving us owt.

QPR (H) - 1 - Rejuvenated a bit from their managerial problems, both sides will be keen not to lose.

Peterborough (A) - 3 - They'll be down by then, and won't give a shit. We are too good for them.

Watford (H) - 1 - Watford will be scrapping for survival. Either they'll collapse and we murder them, or will be really tight and scrappy. I predict the latter.

Preston (A) - 3 - Preston won't have anything to fight for, mid-table mediocrity beckons. We'll finally do them.

Middlesborough (H) - 3 - Again, we'll be fighting for playoff glory, they'll be waiting for a poor season to finish. Carnival time at the Walkers.

= 11 points, giving us 72, and a GD of about +10

Major threats seem to be:

Blackpool 57pts, +12GD, possible max 75. Play S****horpe (A), Doncaster (H), Newcastle (A), Forest (H), Peterborough (A), Bristol City (H)

Reading 52pts, -2GD, possible max 76. Play Ipswich (A), Coventry (H), Cardiff (A), Newcastle (H), Peterborough (H), S****horpe (A), Watford (A), Preston (H)

Doncaster 55pts, +4GD, possible max 73. Play Plymouth (H), Blackpool (A), West Brom (H), Ipswich (A), S****horpe (H), Swansea (A)

The appearance of several top sides in the other teams' run-in fixtures means it is very unlikely any of them will net maximum points. The next two down, Middlesborough and Sheffield United, would have to basically win every game to mount a challenge, and even then, 72pts is their best possible tally.

11points for us will do the job. Probably with a point or two to spare.
