when we wanted to sign muzzy we were quoted 65k for him. MON wanted him on loan first. played a blinder for us on loan and ended up costing 650k.

Just because DJ didnt play well for us does not mean we can not get a good price for him....

The bloke is just an all round shit player with a bit of a rudeboi attitude.

8 goals in 15 games, yeah shit player

That's called good form, which as you should know is temporary. Leon Clarke scored 8 goals in 16 games for Southend once. He's still a shit player.

The only manager DJ looked decent for at us was Allen.

Nigel wasn't the only manager that couldn't get him going, Holloway at Blackpool has been able to do that. Let's try and get a competitive price and use the money wisely.

All this money for Waghorn stuff is ridiculous. We aren't buying Martyn Waghorn. Get over it. In the unlikely event it does happen you can treat it as a rare piece of fortune.

What we'll get out of the Campbell sale (whatever the value) is some more space on the wage bill to offer the likes of Hobbs and Fryatt tastier contracts to stop their eyes wandering.

5 goals in 62 games. Du du du du du Matty Fryatt.

One wants to be here the other doesn't... It seems pretty simple to me, DJ doesn't want to be here, the manager doesn't want him here. Cash in and let Nige spend the money on players he does want. I can't understand what the fuss is about. :dunno:

Has he ever actually said i don't want to play for Leicester City though :dunno:

He certainly didn't say it after the playoffs, and what he said was taken completely out of context last season.

Until i hear him say the words ' i don't want to play for Leicester City ever again' i won't believe 100% that he doesn't want to be here.

4 goals in 38 games. Yeah. the guy is phenomenal.

Spot on. He's garbage and always has been - one run of form in six season doesn't constitute quality. The thing that I find most frustrating about DJ Campbell is the people that defend him only ever just pipe out those few corny statistics. You only have to actually watch the man play to know he's completely wank. Can't pass, can't shoot, can't make a run and even his dribbling is overrated.

DJ Campbell has given Seasiders fans hope by claiming Saturday's clash with Nottingham Forest might not be his final game at Bloomfield Road.

Campbell has always been cagey when asked about his future.

But today the striker has, for the first time, given Blackpool the go ahead to try to sign him, saying he is prepared to enter into talks about a deal.

Campbell has smashed eight goals in 18 games since joining on loan from Leicester in January.

He is under contract at the Walkers Stadium for a further year but, despite the Foxes' elevation to the Championship, insists he has no desire to return.

That means he is set to depart in the summer – the only question is where he will end up.

And the good news for Tony Parkes and those on the terraces is that it could be with the Seasiders.

Don't miss our special late edition featuring pictures and a full report from the game, in shops from 4:30pm on Saturday afternoon.

"Nothing has been talked about yet regards the future," said the 27-year-old.

"I want to get these final two games out of the way, get the season finished and then sit down and see what happens.

"So it may or may not be my last game at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

"If it is obviously I would love to go out with a bang and it would be nice to get a goal.

"It has been good at Blackpool and I have enjoyed my time here.

"The lads have been superb, the management have been great and the fans have been terrific as well.

"It is a lovely little club and obviously if we sit down in the summer ... well, we'll see what happens.

"I don't want to go back to Leicester though – anything apart from that."

There is even a video if you click on this link to hear it from the horse's mouth - If you can't be bothered to watch the whole video it's right at the end - Just skip to about 2 minutes.

And? Most people back then thought Fryatt was overrated and crap.

Blackpool wouldn't be in the prem without DJ. They wouldn't have made the play offs, wouldn't have beaten Forest without his hat-trick. They love him there, he seems to love it there, and clearly doesn't want stay here. Surely we try and get a decent price?!

It's not just getting him off the wage bill, it's recouping at least some of what we've already paid Brum and DJ over the last few seasons. His value is at least as high as it was when we bought him so why just let him go for any old price?

I'm not a fan of his before anyone asks, it just makes no sense that we don't capitalise on this rather interesting situation where the ball is in OUR court.

Exactly. It seems odd that you judge DJ on his previous form. There are plenty of players including Fryatt with terrible records but have picked up form since.

At the end of the day he's scoring goals now and the last time I checked that's what strikers are meant to do :dunno:

I'm not calling for DJ to come back as I've said numerous times in the past and agree that he should be moved on as it just hasn't worked out for him at Leicester but it doesn't mean that I'm so blindly deluded to over see his current form just to convince myself that he's shit.

Stubborn is the word that springs to mind.

You're a grade A fcuking idiot sometimes!

Was this 62 games when he was either a) injured b) barely played c) played out of position or d) a combination of all of these?

The guy scored boat loads last term to get us promoted and scored 13 for us this season despite a lengthy injury and even scored one in the playoffs to get us back in the tie.

He's not perfect but he's a fcuk load better than some championship strikers so shut your cake hole!

Emilio read above. You've missed the point completely. Maddog's not saying Fryatt is a shit player he's just proving that past records being manipulated to justify an argument are a bag of wank.

No, maddog probably does think he's shit. You may aswell give up trying to defend the guy on your side

And? Fryatt never publicly said he didn't want to play for us.

You also forget that the half season when fryatt first arrived he scored several to save us from relegation - Did DJ ever even look like being able to do that? Campbell may not be "shit" but he's very over-rated by some - IIRC he didn't really contribute at Brum before he came to us. Blackpool are the only club he's done everything for since brentford.

All in all though campbell got his chance towards the start of this season and did nothing at all.

I'm not quite sure what your point is, you've lost me.

I was just saying that DJ has been on good form recently and it's hard to criticise a striker that is scoring goals at this time in present no matter how poor his previous stints have been.

If you actually read the thread you'd realise why Fryatt was brought into the equation, I've not criticised him at all, I was just using a particular instance as an example.

Anyway I'm not quite sure what your agenda is but you obviously hate the man and your entitled to your opinion but I'd respect it more if you'd at least have a plausible excuse for your ramblings.

He said well over 12 months ago that he doesn't want to come back here. Im not sure if he had offers in the summer but if he had but chose to reject them cause of wage disagreements then i'd say thats a pretty decent excuse to hate the man.

I got the point but again, it just seemed like another cheap shot by maddog.

If it was intended as a mere point that figures can be manipulated to justify an argument then I apologise. It would've been very easy to explain that as a point though

Sorry, but Dudley is gash. The bloke is 28 years old. Up until now he has done absolute sweet FA in his career. He got his break through thanks to a good cup run. Brum took a chance on him, and they flogged him to us and we looked like total mugs. His footballing abilities is on par with my bedroom antics - which is pretty woeful.

One thing I will say in his favour is that it isn't his fault we bought him for the amount we bought him for. And it isn't fault Allen gave him that big of a wage slip. he took what was given. If he had cost us £500k and was on decent wage, and dropped his rudeboi mentality, a lot of fans would have had more time for him. He has delivered the square root of fuck all for us. Like Holloway, I think DJ is one of those men who thrive at smaller clubs with smaller expectations and little to no pressure.
