Jimothy Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Lawrenson - "He's completely shanked that one" WTF Lawrenson, your commentating is as bad as it is on PES . He was commenting earlier, with some shock, on the size of Diaby. Lawrenson commentates on the Premier League and pundits on MOTD, surely he's seen Diaby play for the past few years and noticed how big he is.
Samilktray Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 He had to go, but I dont think he set out to hurt him, looked like he misread the ball.
ScouseFox Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 It looked pretty bad, but i think he just stretched a bit too late and missed the ball by a fraction.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 'I had a great day till that match, and I blame the French.' Quote of the tournament from Alan Hansen on Day One.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 What a bore fest... I can honestly say I fell asleep until the commentators woke me up it was THAT boring. Roll on the feisty Yanks vs Wanks tomorrow!
Wycombe Fox Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Feck me I thought I'd been hit pretty hard with the ugly stick but I think Ribery went the full 12 rounds.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 That's more like it. A sterile, tetchy goaless draw. Now the tournament is rocking!
The Doctor Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 pretty poor match. Domenchs tactics left alot to be desired - waiting till the last 20 minutes to bring on Malouda then when uruguay are down to 10 sticking on Gignac and playing him wide and ribery + malouda more centrally. Why? Why not get those two running at the full backs?
Joe. Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 God I hope we have to play France later in the competition. Domenech's system is just so negative - what is supposed to be a 4-3-3 is definitely more like 4-5-1- with Anelka isolated on his own up front with no service. And quite why he persists with certain players like Govou is beyond me, although Gourcuff was abysmal too. In general it was a very poor game and neither side looked like scoring after Govou's sitter in the first half. Forlan had a great chance for Uruguay but aside from that it was petty, stop-start and had little in the way of excitement. Suarez's persistent antics on the floor were embarassing at times, but unsurprising given the referee's willingness to dish out silly cards left right and centre. France have got a difficult time ahead...
coale39 Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Feck me I thought I'd been hit pretty hard with the ugly stick but I think Ribery went the full 12 rounds. Involved in a car accident when little. France really mised an opportunity there.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 God France were shit! Think we can get them in the quarters, I wouldnt mind that at all.
Wycombe Fox Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Involved in a car accident when little. Oh God! Now I feel really bad. Sorry Frank.
Fox You Forest Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 One step at a time eh lads... Worst match I've seen in along time.

France have got a difficult time ahead... To be honest, I fear nobody from that group on today's showing. South Africa look like a side trading on home advantage and while they showed commendable heart today, their lack of quality will betray them later in the tournament. Mexico looked nervy and shaky at the back, but retained the ball well and looked slick at times. You get the feeling however that better quality opposition will hurt them badly. France look awful. Tactically wrong, no heart, no fight and the manager has lost the dressing room big time. Not even sure they'll make the last 16 let alone anything else. Uruguay looked perky and up for the fight but Forlan and Suarez were disappointing missing chances they should have put away, and Suarez was offside far too often.
Webbo Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Oh God! Now I feel really bad. Sorry Frank. I hope you're thoroughly ashamed of yourself.
Koke Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 I hope the BBC put subtitles on next time they decide to have Adebayor on.
Fox You Forest Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 I hope the BBC put subtitles on next time they decide to have Adebayor on. They'll struggle to find someone who can type that fast.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Thought Adebayor was a good pundit. Loved his suit and tie
Jordan Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 I'm glad I DVRed that game and watched it later. It's going to be a long, busy day tomorrow and I need to go to bed early, and I think watching this game has successfully bored me enough to go to sleep.
