Matty Fryatt

i think dj has obviously impressed sousa and perhaps fryatt hasnt as was the same as with dj and pearson its just football at the end of the day and not every manager has the same opinions about players. fryatt frustrates me, he looks sharp one game and completely crap the next, and it may not necessarily be sousa who wants him to leave perhaps fryatt fancies a change :dunno:

I remember what happened when he broke his jaw, we carried on regardless scoring goals and maintaining a play-off push

Then he came back and missed the biggest chance in his Leicester career, bottled it against Cardiff at home and the rest as they say is history. Now here we have Sousa who doesn't rate Fryatt as highly as he does and he's got the hump.

His piss poor Championship scoring record only supports those that recognise him for what he is, League One. Why you are so emotional about a below average Championship player is beyond me.

really?

05/06 - 6 in 19 - 1 every 3 games (longest run in team : 19 matches with hume for 16 and hammond for 3)

06/07 - 3 in 21 - 1 every 7 games (longest run in team : 9 matches, hume for 3, hammond for 3, o'grady for 4)

07/08 - 2 in 23 - 1 every 11 games (playing as a winger for about half of the matches he played, longest run in team : 10 matches, cort for 3, hume for 3 (up front), Campbell for 4)

09/10 - 14 in 32 - 1 every 2.5 games (longest run in team : 21 matches, Howard for 12, Waghorn for 9)

so when he's given a extended run playing with a regular partner up front rather than the chopping and changing of 06-08 he has a record most strikers would be very pleased with, meaning like virtually every striker at this level : stability and familiarity results in success.

Reason for Edit: Miscalculation

Wow you did all that to prove my point, he's not that good at this level. Just accept it.

how does that prove your point. The middle two seasons were a bit shit but then look at the amount of strike partners he had and how few games he had with each one. Hardly enough time to form a decent partnership with any of them.

The reason he scored so many in league 1? Great run in the team and almost always alongside howard allowing them to build a good understanding.

Fryatt is too much of a nice guy to ever be a top quality forward. Strikers need a chip on their shoulder or some sort of attitude. He wouldn't hurt a fly and speaks like a girl. Thats why he will never become top class in my opinion. I wouldnt be too sorry to see him go especially if the money was half decent. But this is only if we have a replacement lined up. And who the hell could that be?? :dunno:

Is because that is his standard.

It's like those championship stars that go up to to the Premiership and fail, it's a step to hight for them. But they make a good living and good luck to them. I still don't understand this passionate defence of someone who if he was any good wouldn't be with us.

so what you're saying is that if some one has footballing talent they wouldn't play for us? Not every good player makes it to the premiership, some aren't quite good enough and stay at championship level where they are comfortable and, in a settled team with the right service, score goals on a regular basis - players such as chopra, bothroyd, nugent, kitson, fryatt, earnshaw etc.

Fryatt has a long way to go before he can be mentioned in the same context as those guys.

He's not even at Gary Hooper levels yet.

We excpect our team to be at the top of the table challenging and for this we need strengthening. If we were to be promoted, we'd expect to strengthen again and be competitive.

Strengthening doesnt mean signing a player to sit in the squad which means that a first teamer has to make way.

When I look at out team on paper, Weale, Nielson, Morrison, Berner, Wellens, Oakley, Dyer, N'Guessen, Howard and Fryatt are clearly not good enough or consistant enough to challenge at the top of the championship or fight for survival in the Premiership.

Would I be angry if Matty Fryatt was sold for £2m?? Yes I would, but not because Fryatt was sold, but just angry at the amount received.

We need to build a better stronger team to push on. Sometimes that means taking a step back to come on stronger as our relegation to League 1 showed. Now i'm not suggesting that a lower table finish would be acceptable, but if this season is sacrificed in order to build a team capable of winning this division then stand a good chance of survival in the Premiership then so be it.

When a player is genuinly good enough, you wont have anyone in debate. The fact that 50% of our fans wouldnt be sad to see Fryatt leave despite his recent goalscoring exploits speaks volumes.

From reading your several posts, its clear you don't rate Fryatt one bit, but I would question why you would want to get rid of Fryatt now when there doesn't seem to be anyone on the horizon to take his place. We'd be left with Howard and the incredible sulk who could go off on one at any time and then a lot of untested and unknowns.

Fryatt's a clever player, probably too clever for his feet, but he certainly must have something about him to attract interest at in and around this level so he can't be that bad. Chances are, if we did sell he'd go to a league rival. Do we really want to potentially strengthen a rival and leave our sqaud brefet of even more players with Championship Experience?

Apart from last season then you disabled?

What really pisses me off, is may people on here calling him "shit" just because we might some money to spend.

The boy did a great job for us last season, so you can at least have some bloody respect for him - even if he doesn't have a future at the club.

I don't know why people are writing him off. Matty Fryatt is a great player in my eyes. He's the player that will get 12+ goals every season when he stays fit. He still is young and had previously attracted few premier league clubs, so people I suggest you have faith in him.

We just need to get players that have got great vision that will set up the goals for Matty Fryatt and the forwards.

I hope he stays at LCFC because I reckon he's one of the players that can get us back to the premier league.

i dont think he likes the fact that dj is the new fans favourite

Well dj certainly aint my favourite, and i would happily drive him up to Blackpool myself and sell him for a bag of chips!

The fact that we`ve supposedly turned down good money for him, in recent weeks, defies belief for me.

Hes shown no commitment or desire to be a Leicester City player, since his buddy martin allen was sacked!

Not to mention bad mouthing our club while at Blackpool.

Waste of space and waste of money.

Fryatt over dj everytime for me!

Out of a possible 5 seasons the boys been fit and firing for 1 and a half.

Personally i don't think thats good enough and if we got rid then fair enough.

He's a good player but his fitness is poor and he rarely ever hits top form.

Fryatt's a 'name' at this level. I think that counts as a lot, whether our rep as a club or that little bit of fear in an opposition defence. He's a better than average striker at this level, surprised his record isn't better, but more surprised that ppl would be happy to see him go. Guaranteed 10 goals minimum a season shouldn't be discarded.

he is shite. striker who fumbles around infront of goal... i`d throw a party if he left. he is the reason i dont go to games or buy a shirt...
