maddog Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Sorry for costing us 3 points at the weekend for not doing this. A clean sheet is key here, defensive confidence must be low, even Hobbs and Morrison have struggled early on. Weale needs one aswell. Simply we will be no where near the playoffs if we continue to concede so many goals, hopefully we can tighten the defence up for this one. We will need to because if Boro are on song up front they will give us problems. Strachan has signed a crop of decent SPL players, Boyd, Robson and McDonald are dangerous. With ex PL players Wheater, Hoyte and Arca in the side, Wheater touted as a possible England defender a couple of seasons ago it's hard to see how they collasped at home to Ipswich in the 2nd half and lost 3-1. Lita could come on for a burst of pace, they still have Gary O Neil who was quality in the PL not long ago, maybe he still could be. Nicky Bailey is a very tidy player newly signed aswell. Thankfully we kept 2 clean sheets against these last season with 2 wins, lets hope for more of the same. A Boro backlash could be on the cards though, if Hobbs and Morrison don't sort it out we're going to need to score a few to get anything out of this game. A solid 1-0 win clean sheet is what i'm going for, rather that than a 4-3 again TBH. But if both sides click it could be another high scoring affair. :locked:
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Cant see us winning. Both teams need a win, and I think we'll struggle but manage a 1-1 draw.
Jfox Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 0-0. 19 goals between the two sides in the first two this season already so everything points to a high scoring game, but when games are built up to be high scoring games, more often than not, they arent.
z-layrex Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 I think 4-1 Boro unfortunately. The squad is so strong... Of course i'll be wrong tho, City!
Simo86 Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 I think it will be a 1-1 draw with Fryatt scoring for us and Boyd for them
Nick Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 I haven't a clue Me neither but I'll be in the 'usual' around 12.30!
Lillehamring Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 both teams will be expecting to win this, and both concerned about their capacity to defend. i'm just hoping that the shenanigans at the club this week will be the difference between the two teams, and that it will be to our advantage. God, it is seriously pissing down today.
boro_boy Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 Hey, I'm a Middlesbrough fan and we had an awful start to the season last weekend, a battering from Ipswich, I didn't go to the game as I was at work. Anyway tomorrow is going to be a very very hard game for us, I can only hope for a draw, but we seem to be better away from home and I put this down to our very hostile home fans who boo and whinge at everything the team does on the pitch. I will be very happy with a draw tomorrow but knowing boro we'll lose the game in the 2nd half which is our problem at the moment.
Bettsj2 Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 I think we'll get spanked like naughty children to be honest. All this good news all week, we're bound to come crashing down to earth.
Ziggy1990 Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 Travelling from the East of this fine land to see this one.... high hopes! saying that, ive heard Aman Verma is still kicking around.... somehow
The MayneFox Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 1v1 i think it would be a great match, wed be dominating and will score first (DJ) will miss some sitters aswell
xplicitmaterial Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 well i will be travelling down from the north east tomorrow morning to watch this, will pass plenty of boro fans on the way so ill make sure i have my scarf in the rear window I'm hoping for a win 3-1 fryatt with another brace and dj late on, boyd for them
Dr The Singh Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 Lose 1-3, two of the goals will be from bad defending, and the other will be sublime!!
broughtonblue Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 I reckon 3-1 to us. Fryatt Adams and Campbell. Also will be a good alround performance.
