DanTheFox07 Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 haha campbell and sousa have fallen out already then ! on a serious note, will be glad to see the back of this guy, overpaid and has done jack in a leicester shirt!
Trickyfox Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 I heard heskey is on his way.... news item on talksport
Dylan Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Hopefully we get a decent fee for him after putting a few good performances in in pre-season, and start of season. Must be a better offer than what was offered earlier. If this is true, we'll need to sign another striker, as we'll only have Howard, Fryatt, Crncic, and Gallagher. And Crncic hasn't played at this level, so we don't know whether he's good enough, and Gallagher has only really played on the wing, not played much up front for us.
Criggers Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 I want to see Gally up front finally! He played well second half with Howard against Leeds I heard?
Jimmy Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 if this short spell in the side has done no more then make them pay what we wanted all along then Sousa has done well, he's shown all the players its a fresh start and previous issues no longer matter whilst also maximising revenue on a striker that wants to move to the prem, is on high wages and in the last year of his contract. Maybe he has someone else lined up or maybe someone like John, Schlupp or even the forgotten man Ashley Chambers will get to fill D.J.'s roll as the wide striker
Petchy Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 I heard heskey is on his way.... news item on talksport I thought Villa wanted to keep him? -------------------- Grr. Why'd he have to go? Means I have to update my PES again.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 I thought Villa wanted to keep him? -------------------- Grr. Why'd he have to go? Means I have to update my PES again. Villa do want to keep him
Petchy Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Not sure why that guy said Heskey is on his way then?
Fox92 Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 I heard heskey is on his way.... news item on talksport Currently watching Sky Sports news and Villa have said they have denied it On the DJ note, I'm not to happy seeing him leave. He looks lively and has obviously scored this season. Wouldn't blame him leaving though. If he does leave, I'd like to see Gallagher up front.
adam1 Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 From stringers twitter, Although SSN are running DJ Campbell to Blackpool, I was stood next to journo+source at the time, although I remain fearful, its not done yet SSN clearly woken up in a mischievous mood. First the premature DJ line + now gatecrashing Milan's office. 2pm SSN - rule break, yellow card [2mins ago] I wonder what the gatecrashing refers to? Also can someone inform people what ssn say at 2pm. I've just realised its no longer on freeview.
STUHILL Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Heskey won't be coming here now. Potentially next season I guess. We really do need to spend big on a quality striker though. Normally I would have a few names in mind but can't think of any realistic ones right now Good luck Sousa!!

jonw88 Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 http://www.blackpool.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=520107 DJ Campbell is set to sign for Blackpool after a fee has been agreed with Leicester City, according to Sky Sports News. It's thought that DJ will sign a two-year deal worth around £10,000-a-week plus bonuses. If this is true, then it looks like he's taking a pay cut? Would have thought if anything he'd have wanted a pay increase... maybe he really wants to leave us after all!
adam1 Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 DJ was at training this morning. What time did ssn first put the story up? Stringers twitter news updates this morning have been useful for once...

Any loss of income from his remaining contract with us can be covered by a signing on fee that way he doesn't breech their pay structure.
LCFC_15 Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 According to Sky Sources Blackpool are closing in the signing of DJ Campbell.
Cheese Me Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Any loss of income from his remaining contract with us can be covered by a signing on fee that way he doesn't breech their pay structure. Plus an extra year on his contract, still at a very good wage and the chance to earn significantly more if he proves to be a success in the prem. Can't blame him really, just hope we got a good fee and get a good replacement
