Fosse Boy Posted 26 August 2010 Author Posted 26 August 2010 I did, which is why I posted - it said the Fosse Boys won't be at the Reading game This one. Because others in the same stand and elsewhere in the ground our allowed to stand freely without hassle. We are being victimised purely because we are an organised group who are continuously singing for 90 minutes. We do not obstruct anyone's view and as such there is no reason why we should sit down if the club are willing to allow persistent standing in other areas to carry on unchalleneged.
Houdini Logic Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 This one. Yes I read that and I understand your intentions, which is why I'm asking 'why don't you just sit down and sing and create an atmposhere?' It will wind up the 22 all the same and the club can't do anything about it. It's surely the pro-active way of going about this? Personally if it was me I would get the whole group to stand and I'd also take a video camera to film everyone else who stands, just incase you can catch the club playing the double standards game
hackneyfox Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 22 people have complained about The Fosse Boys and they are now threatened with ejections or bans if they don't move. If every poster on this board sends an email in support of The Fosse Boys right now then the club won't have a leg to stand on. Don't sit on your hand and moan about it, do something RIGHT NOW! Send an e-mail to [email protected] Send it now and then please add your name to this thread. It is put up or shut up time. Admins Please don't move this thread to the Fosse Boys one, it will be missed. Or even better why not start something yourselves.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 "I have recently been informed that the Fosse Boys are being threatened with ejections and bans because 22 people have complained. I think this is completely wrong. They try to raise the atmosphere in the stadium and get the fans singing. Fair enough if some are making racist chants or using bad language in front of children, then kick them out. However, if all they are doing is singing and chanting, I don't see what the problem is. Please reply to me as to why they are facing bans and ejections, as I would like to know Thats what I sent, lets see what they say
Jimmy Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 just sent my email to whomever this concernsthe club constantly champion the fact they they strive to provide a great "matchday experience", however as a club it seems to do everything it can to stifle the fans when they try to be vocal in their support be it blasting music at near deafening levels before the game and during half time to the introduction of goal music which i don't remember people clamouring for at they time despite that being the reason given for its continued presence. Which is why I was saddened but not surprised to hear the club are already threatening to eject the "Fosse Boys" group of fans located at the back of the south east corner, as far as I can tell they are merely a group of like minded people that wish to create a vocal, positive atmosphere in support of the team, something players and managers have frequently commented on its importance. 1 of the reasons I fell in love with the sport was the passion of the fans and the communal feeling during the games I was able to attend in the old Filbert Street kop, an atmosphere that hooked me and many many others over the years and which is sadly lacking from the Walkers Stadium, whilst I can understand and applaud the clubs desire to rid the club of racist or abusive chants from fans I firmly believe the balance has gone too far and you are now activly seeking to remove anybody that trys to be vocally supportive of the side and so I believe I need to send this to show my support of the Fosse boys, whilst the club can't actively support them, nnor do they wish the club to do so, it can however give them the same leeway it gives to the fans in L1, where I'm a season ticket holder and here abusive chants most weeks, which something the fosse boys don't do, neither are they obstructing anybodies view as they went to a section that is usually empty. in closing I simply ask that the club treat the Fosse Boys in the same way they do L1 and maybe in time the abusive chants will be taken over by the pro-city, ignoring the other team spirit in which this group was established yours faithfully
bettso Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 There is no grounds for ejecting the faction group named the Fosse Boys. They are well within their rights to sing for the entire match if they wish, and if they are not obstructing the view of anyone, I could see no reason why the club would abuse this groups human rights. stripeyfox Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Just a quick update on what's happening with the group at the moment. Following on the from the Middlesbrough game LCFC apparently received 25 e-mails regarding the group, of which 3 were in support and 22 were apparently complaints about us being too noisy (remember, the "Kop" is meant to be our home end). As a result we have been issued with an ultimatum, to either move or face ejections/bans. Obviously we don't much like this bullying approach and as such we need a short time to resolve this issue. So we have decided that just for the Reading game on Saturday there will be no Fosse Boys section at the back of SK1. This is obviously a setback to the group's ambitions but we know if we don't get our organisation right while the group is still in its infancy we're doomed to fail, so hopefully people will understand why we're doing this. If anybody would like to contact the club in support of us, please e-mail [email protected], as they obviously value the electronic word far greater than the dozens and dozens of people in the ground who shook hands with us, complimented us on how good it was to have some vitality and passion at home games and generally wished us well last Saturday. All group members will be able to pick up their match tickets and season tickets from us in The Counting House before the game on Saturday. If you have any questions about this please PM me or ARAB. Thanks. Apart from the ridiculous notion of someone (in fact 22 people) emailing the club to complain about the noise in a football ground, where exactly do the club propose you move to? If your noise is deemed to be a nuisance to "the 22" then the law of averages would suggest there may be similar number of idiots who also may be offended by singing (yes, singing - in a football stadium)? I will send an email as well, even though I do not regularly attend games to try and redress the balance in favour of the unsilent majority who support the FB. I would urge everyone else to do the same. The more I think about it the less I can beleive the mindset of someone who types out "Dear LCFC. I enjoyed the Middlesbrough match, but my experience was ruined by people singing and chanting....." Sweet Jesus and Mary Chain!!
stix Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Time for a leaflet to be written perhaps, explaining what the Fosse Boys are trying to do, and how the club are being so feeble about it, to be given out to fans before the Reading game? If you did that, you'd probably get a few hundred to email the club in your support... Now that my son, is a great idea.
Houdini Logic Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 22 people have complained about The Fosse Boys and they are now threatened with ejections or bans if they don't move. If they don't move or if they keep standing/singing?
Callabinho Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 If you eject the Fosse boys from the walkers stadium you will not only be removing paying customers but also loyal fans, they don't cause trouble they just enjoy the football, enjoy singing, and chanting to edge the boys on, I suggest that these people complaining move themselves to the family stand and and sit in silence. Its about time these people stopped chatting Gibberish and moaning! The fosse boys try to create an atmosphere and get behind the lads, and make it an enjoyable experience, i find it somewhat disappointing that a minority of our fans want them relocated, they have no right! the Fosse boys pay like everyone else in the stadium, as long as their not throwing objects or fighting then why should they be moved? If its foul language in the chants they don't like then they obviously don't regularly attend football matches! I am once again disappointed that out own fans can't appreciate a group of lads & men trying to have a good time and create a furnace of noise to give the lads that extra support. If they don't like it then advise them to bring a story book cd, or join in having a good time! Keep it up Fosse boys! Chris Got my support lads!

Corky Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Too noisy? Of all the things people could come up with What a joke. I feel for you in this.

stripeyfox Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Sirs It has come to my attention that the club are considering action to restrict or remove the “Fosse Boys” from the Walkers Stadium on the strength of a small number of complaints from supporters. In the interests of balance and as a former season ticket holder (cannot get to games due to family commitments) I would like to register my support for the Fosse Boys who have spent the summer organizing themselves with like minded individuals with the stated aim of improving matchday atmosphere, which is, by common consent pretty sterile and not helped by the club’s own attempts to further sterilize the atmosphere by playing music before games and after goals (albeit a rare event these days). The group have repeatedly stated they do not endorse hooliganism or racism and have made great efforts to consider other supporters when locating themselves. That the club would take 22 complaints from a crowd of 21,000 or so (roughly 0.1%) as justification for this draconian action also demonstrates how out of touch the club is with its supporters. I hope this email will go some way to redressing the balance of opinion. Email sent
Jackirius Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Sent one... Bloody ridiculous... Hello I am writing to express my opinion on the recent complaints against the Fosse Boys group. I believe that they give the atmosphere in the stadium an extra edge and i for one am not a part of them but do really enjoy their support and think it is very good for the club. If they expand even more then it will give them players a great boost on the pitch and create a better atmosphere. Them being threatened with ejection i think is disgusting, all they are is passionate about their team and wanting to show their support. Keeping the Fosse Boys will increase the match day experience and will make the Walker Stadium a much more atmospheric and appealing place for both sets of fans and players. If this is what football has got to that when supporters are willing to actually support their team and are threatened with ejection then it is a sad day for Leicester City Football Club and for Football in general. Yours Sincerely Jack Newman
stix Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Email to be sent this evening after work. Surely as soon as the number of emails praising the fosse boys outweighs the number of complaints, the club should surely retract their previous threats?!

Absolutely. Surely, if you remain seated throughout the entire match and do not use foul or abusive language, there are no grounds to eject you. Admittedly, i do not know the rules and regs, and others will be able to comment, but a steward needs a reason to eject you and chanting loudly is not one of them (unless you're being rude or offensive). I also can't believe it's possible to eject a whole group like that or ban you from entering. Individuals for individual offences, fair enough, but to ban a group is probably skirting close to a legal hole. I've seen some pretty bizarre things at Leicester over the years, but threatening to eject you for chanting in support of the team is right up there.
blueblood88 Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 there really is some pathetic people! I can't believe some people would complain! Singing at football?!? Supporting the team?!? God forbid!
Bakey Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Sent an email in support, including links to all positives regarding the group. And their "double standards".
Guest Posted 26 August 2010 Posted 26 August 2010 Email of support sent It has come to many people's attention that you are attempting to ban a group of loyal fans, due to a tiny minority of complaints, who simply want to show their passion and support for their beloved Leicester City in a vocal way, as opposed to the sitting on their seat and occasionally politely clapping (or in most cases booing) in the sterile atmosphere you all seem intent on creating at Leicester City. I have been going to watch Leicester play for nigh on 20 years now after seasons of negative and dour atmosphere at The Walkers, this is the first positive sign of a group that are committed to trying to regain some of the wonderful and passionate support we all once enjoyed at Filbert Street. Aside from the fact that they are not obstructing anyone's view, or even within about 20 seats of anybody last time I saw them, I fail to see the issue in a small group choosing to support the team in this way. Perhaps it is time you stood up to the persistent moaners at Leicester and allowed this group the freedom to show their support.
