LoughboroughFox Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 well we have a habit of selling our very best players, and Andy King is on fire this season, is it just me or am i a bit dubious wether or not a premier team may make a offer we cant refuse?
Unabomber Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Fuck being scared, let's just enjoy his immense talent while he is running the show for us week in week out.
CloudFox Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Fuck being scared, let's just enjoy his immense talent while he is running the show for us week in week out. Here here. We've got him, he's playing well, and he loves the club. There's no need to get all worried or scared about it 'til it actually HAPPENS. Plus, I don't think he's a want-away judging by his attitude and recent performances, and with the new investors, there's no reason to sell one of our best players. In conclusion, right now he's a Fox, and I for one am chuffed we have such a player as he at the club
Ozwin Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 He patted the badge, that's the equivilant of a written contract. If he leaves anytime soon I will personally hunt him down.
Thracian Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Nothing's impossible but look at the guy's body language. He just loves the club. Kingy new the downside of football when Chelsea let him go and he's always seemed glad that City gave him a chance to pick up the pieces. Even playing Academy football his family would be there on the touchline to watch and support him - having driven up from Berkshire. As he progressed, times you'd see his dad standing in the crowd - they're a feet-on-the-floor family and I'd doubt very much if they'd see any benefit in Kingy moving at the moment. Quite the opposite. I think the lad is absolutely thrilled to be so well thought of by the club and by the crowd here. And loving every minute of the attacking role which is so suited to him. And, judging by the way they flattened him in their congratulations I reckon he's a popular lad among the team too. He might earn more money moving but I reckon he'd have a lot to lose too - especially as City have the best chance of getting to the Premiership that they've had in years under Sousa. And playing just the sort of football that suits Kingy's style perfectly.
Finnegan Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 I think you miss the point to be honest, Thracian. It doesn't matter how much King likes Leicester City. If some club come down and say "alright we'll give you five million for Andy King" and the board go "absolutely, yes please" he'll be a goner. You can't force him to sign a contract with another club, obviously, but how many players - loyal or otherwise - stick around in those situations?

You can't force him to sign a contract with another club, obviously, but how many players - loyal or otherwise - stick around in those situations? Absolutely, which is a crying shame. Normally I hate players who kiss the clubs badge, and in the next breath move to another club. But in this case I do think King is sincere. I can't help but remember the Cardiff play-off 2nd leg last season when he came over to us kissing the badge after they won. I feel that if he did move on, it would be more down to the reasons you have stated rather than him just wanting to go for more money etc. Maybe I'm being a little naive, who knows.
jonthefox Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Name the last key player we sold. joe mattock.......................i'll get me coat.
Ric Flair Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Am I right in thinking King turned down the opportunity last season to go to Villa and signed a new contract? He has his feet firmly on the ground and i'm sure there will be plenty of teams taking note of his start to the season but i'm not worried. If this win last night kick starts our season and the Thai investors are serious about their plans for this club, I don't see King leaving us for a while. But it can all change very quickly as we have seen. What a player though, stunning talent.
Callabinho Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 The King is not going anywhere, we are naming our stadium after the chap! Legend
MikeyT Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 well we have a habit of selling our very best players, and Andy King is on fire this season, is it just me or am i a bit dubious wether or not a premier team may make a offer we cant refuse? You have to think this...either you want him on fire, popping in the goals and contributing to the team.....or.....he's playing shite and not doing anything of note. I know which Andy King out of those two options i'd rather have. He won't go.
lcfc_jme Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Anybody with a shred of common sense can see how important King is to our club at present, so if he's still in this sort of form come January I guess we'll see what our new owners' true colours actually are..
Corky Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 I really hope we can resist any offers. Kingy, along with Hobbs and Waghorn, are players we can build a team around for the future.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 So what do we do? Never let a player become really good, because some bigger club might come in for him? Good grief!
FrankieADZ Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 I do agree in part, but it's got to fall on the owners and there ambition for the club, if they want to make us great(we already know we are just the rest of the world doesnt agree with us yet) Then they'll keep the best players and then build a squad around them. that's unless we get a stupid bid of course.

Fosse Boy Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 Fuck being scared, let's just enjoy his immense talent while he is running the show for us week in week out. Yep. Would be pretty gutted if he was sold on for a quick buck mind. At the moment we've got a generation of players who have the potential to become as revered as O'Neill's boys, we need them to develop correctly and stay at the heart of the club for years to come.
Zingari Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 So what do we do? Never let a player become really good, because some bigger club might come in for him? Good grief! It works for me i stay a useless twat so that the missus can relax and not worry about me being lured away but i guess i'm always putting others feelings before my own
Tommy G Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 The two best midfielders in Premiership history in Scholes and Giggs haven't moved clubs since they were there at 15 years old. Granted they are one of the best clubs in the country and Europe but there might be some loyalty in some players out there. Hope King is the same Mould.
Spiritwalker Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 My mate who's son played in the same excellent academy team as Andy King always told me that King would make the step up and would be the best of that group. He also said he was a cracking lad with his feet firmly on the ground.
talkfoxes.com Posted 15 September 2010 Posted 15 September 2010 depends on what money a club offer us but it this way no deal if it's under £6million
Zingari Posted 16 September 2010 Posted 16 September 2010 the thread title should read Anyone else sacred? Andy King
