Paulo Sousa....

As I have said on another thread, I feel a little sorry for PS. He came here with all good intentions, he was promised things I'd expect too.

His record in a managers capacity has been good so far, he was trying to impart his passion for the game here at Leicester.

His rugged arrogance made him stick with it, believing he was backed from above?

Maybe he was a little naive in thinking Milan was a man of his word, but he persevered, believing that what he saw on the training ground would translate to Matchdays, as it had done previously at Swansea.

Whilst I agree that points mean prizes and results are what seasons are built on, I still feel sorry for him, more than I did any other manager that has been the victim of Milan Mandaric. I really hope he comes back soon and instills his ideals on a team that can accommodate his style.

Cheers Paulo and Good luck

He was all over sky sports news last night reading books to little school kids in Leicester with Andy King, then they've dragged him in there this morning and sacked him, i do feel sorry for him! Milan has shit on him and gone behind his back like he did with Nigel

Posted

Quick video I made of his reign. Probably not that good but still!

Nah it's a good video made, only problem with it is that the first two goals we were seen conceding were in games that we actually went on to win but never mind

Posted

Fair play to the guy he came in and new he was probably not going to last long, tried his best and maybe we should be questioning the team not the just the manager.

Good luck Paulo and good bye (at long last)

LCFC and PS were simply not meant to be together. I'm usually sympathetic and try to take a reasoned view of things, but from day 1 he totally dismantled everything he could that was so good last year. The sooner he went the better. Too many sackings these days are rash but most here know that it wasn't the case this time. PS was seriously harming this football club.

Perhaps MM was directed by the new owners to sack Sousa - MM's involvement in the management decisions at the club remains unclear.

He turned our previously solid and largely dependable defense into a complete shambles in a matter of hours. From his first game in charge the defense were abysmal and over time they got consistantly worse. This, lets not forget, was supposed to be his strong point.

Within a matter of weeks he'd taken a group who seemed (at least), last season, to be very together and brimming with team spirit and he turned them into players who played as if they'd never seen each other before, and off the pitch he turned them into players who hated the instant change he'd made to the club so much that they actively desired to gamble on a completely new club rather than carry on working under him.

He dropped key players from the starting line up on a regular basis for no reason at all, indicating that he had simply no idea what he was doing or even what he was attempting to do. Some of his decisions were baffling to the point where at one stage, I seriously entertained the thought that he was involved in match fixing. In fact i'm still not entirely convinced that he wasn't. His tactics were a shambles. Even when we played well, we lost heavily. When we played badly we were trounced by the side who were bottom of the league. We were embarrasingly incompetent. We were playing at a standard that may not have even survived League 2, nevermind the Championship. His supposed 'style' that he was supposed to bring to the club turned out to be gimmicky bullshit, designed to cover blatant weaknesses in his ability.

His signings were a Peter Taylor-esque waste of time and money. They barely played and seemed to stink the place out. When they did play theye were shit. He either lacked the strength to stand up to the board (assuming it was they who made the signings) or, more likely, signed players on recommendations from agents who know he is a soft touch and targeted him, and our club, with their shitty players.

His post match interviews served only to anger and confuse. His seemingly infallible enthusiasm was, at best, a totally misplaced and misguided show of confidence, and at worst, a testiment to his complete lack of knowledge - to think he actually thought we were playing to a good enough standard is as scary as hell. He reminded me a bit of Mandaric, in that I could tell that every single thing he said was complete bullshit, and in a way he shook my faith in humanity. His type seem to be an increasing presence in the media and it worries me that people like him are allowed to thrive within it's sphere - that these people are accepted by the public betrays how brainwashed, moronic and incapable of independent thought they are becoming.

He was a complete disaster. From the moment he walked into the club he began to wreak his brand of destruction upon it, systematically taking apart any positive aspect of the club and enhancing any negative. He has had a Hiroshima style effect on this football club. I cannot think of any example of any club that has gone from so good to so bad in such a short space of time. i'm struggling to think of any techniques that I, if I were a football manager, could emply to try and recreate such a failure. Short of removing limbs from players, I think one would have to get every single possible decision wrong to arrive at where Paulo arrived from where he left.

Upon hearing he was fired a massive weight was lifted from my shoulders. We can now begin the rebuilding process, but I fear it may take a long while before the toxic effects from this clown are removed. I can barely believe what i'm reading in this thread. I see absolutely no reason why i should show him any support at all. He failed in every single aspect of football management and has left us up to our necks in shit and facing a frightening future. Potentially his reign may be seen as the point that Leicester City was ruined. He may have completely destroyed a century old football club in a few weeks. He was our worst fooking nightmare brought to life.

Was watching that last night and he came across as really top bloke. So feel sorry for him as a person because like I said he seem like a great guy and he must be gutted, but he wasn't very good at his job,(or a least not very good at this job) and had to go.

He didn't harm us as much as MM for pushing NP out the door. We wouldn't be in this position had we kept the status quo. Fook the money men, I was happy with last season & looking forward to more of the same but then we are LCFC so I should expect the unexpected I spose.

Stuff.

I normally can't be bothered with long posts but I read every word of that. Good post.

he'll probably do a "Holloway" somewhere else

Yeah. Wouldn't surprise me. Take one of our players on loan who will help them get promoted to the Premier league.

Posted

I wanted him to go but now he has I feel sorry for him really, I would of loved for us to play this attacking passing football and have won the league under him.

Good luck Paulo I really hope you make it to the top, just a shame its not with us

Posted

i was hoping he was given more time to prove himself as i still belief he could have done a good job.. feel sorry for him.. but hes gone now so i wont be dwelling on it.. forwards and upwards... think we was always going to win tomorrow though anyway but can see now all the threads tomorrow when we do win saying its because hes gone etc...

I might be in the minority but I also feel sorry for Sousa. I thought we should have given

him another 4 or 5 games especially as the penny seemed to have dropped about our

formation. Having said that, it is difficult to argue against the points made by Dave The Cave,

apart from the one about the club being destroyed.

Harsh but true. Good post

The theory seemed good in August but the practice since CPFC (day 1) proved otherwise. He had to go: simple as...... :scarf:

Sosa got it so wrong he tried to change our style to quick, surly a good manager would look at what they have got and play to there strengths. We have a good squad and will get out this mess with the right manager. Bring on mon or sge happy days.
