Jackirius Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Reckon Sven will be interested in this player? Potential Target
Cat Burger Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Sven gave him his big break and was sheer quality that first half of the 2007/08 season. It's not happened for him in the last few seasons due to injury, but like Mark Davies he would be unreal at this level and if he's fit then he would change our whole team. He's not just had injury problems, he's also had massive problems with the drink so I've heard. Although I met him along with Garrido during that season and he was a nice lad (yes it was in a pub.)

OriginalRobboFOX Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Michael Johnson from Man City, i'd not be surprised to see this happen in the next few weeks. I'm sure I read he went to Championship club on loan already??? If not this would make me jizz...
nickelbyfox Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 No Johnson still at Man City, would love to see a couple loan signings, even seeing Kyle Walker for QPR against palace, and tons of pace mad me wonder why we haven't loaned anyone
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Michael Johnson would piss all over this league if fit.
Ric Flair Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Sven will be tapping Man City up left, right and centre. He gave Mancini his debut at Sampdoria, took him to Lazio, advised him to come to Leicester back in 2000 and now Svennis is at Leicester, Roberto is at Man City and we all live happily ever after. Johnson Santa Cruz Given High fives.

Think the first two are definitely options one would reasonably think, don't think given would come in my opinion, but what do I know, never imagined in a million years Sven would be managing us in the championship!

Johnson is a possibility but surely some lower end prem team would get first option.

forever-lcfc Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 we would probably out of all of them get roque santa cruz not given or johnson though
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Got to thinking of the best City eleven made up entirely of loan players............. Here is mine- 1 FULOP 2 CHARLES 3 GALLOWAY 4 DALY 5 HOBBS 6 BRUCE 7 IZZET 8 DAVIES 9 CAMPBELL 10 A SMITH (SIGNED FOR ARSENAL BUT LOANED BACK TO US, BIT OF A CHEAT I KNOW) 11 CUNNINGHAM ?( Think he was loanee) Best I could quickly come up with, stuck Micky Galloway in at left back I could only think of Ryan Mcgivern in that position Can anyone improve this loan side?
cc_star Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 We need a loan signing to replace Howard The pattern of the team seems to be Howard & Fryatt, Howard & N'Guessan or Howard & Waghorn Howard is shit... he's about a tenth as good as our 'big man' of years gone by, I'd rate him somewhere below the shockingly shite De'Vries - We need someone who can not only win most of the balls floated upfront, but who can actually play it to one of our players or score a goal. Howard does neither.
Sylvie85 Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Michael johnson would be immense!! As long as the former england striker isn't nugent!! Alan smith.... ??

Perhaps Roberto Mancini should be in there? Michael Johnson would be a great loan signing. Yeah, meant Stockdale not Stockwell in my first post. He was brilliant for Fulham early on this season and there were rumours he might be called up to the England squad.
Salieri Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Michael johnson would be immense!! As long as the former england striker isn't nugent!! Alan smith.... ?? The former England striker is bound to be Vassell.

Howard does neither. That's just a ridiculous comment, Howard might not have scored hatfuls for us but he's still got over 200 league goals, which isn't bad going. He gives his all every match, wins practically every header he goes up for and I think is one of the best passers in the team, as he brings it down, turns and usually plays some great through balls for the onrushing midfielders. His flick-ons might not look so aimless if Waghorn actually reacted to them or anticipated where they will go. De Vries was awful, Howard is the best target man I can remember us having since Heskey. He may lack pace but he's not geriatric as some seem to think, but I think we need to start looking for a long-term replacement for him and so that he does not have to play every game.

Ian Marshall & Brian Deane off the top of my head... Giving your all isn't enough if you're nowhere near good enough, his flick-ons go 50 yards away so whoever is partnering him has no chance reaching them, kinda makes it pointless playing a big man if he can't head downwards, instead the ball just bounces off his head harmlessly. Our attack has been toothless for a long time, even in the last 2 good seasons we weren't as prolific as our league position would have had you believe.... common denominator = Howard!
