Webbo Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 I've still not seen if this is 6pm Friday or Saturday, and then if the 6pm is their time or our time If it's 6pm our time it'll be midnight when they kick off there, so probably not.
City Lad Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Sven Addresses International Media Posted on: Tue 05 Oct 2010 Leicester City manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson spoke about his passion for English football today, in front of a packed press conference at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. The new Foxes boss sat alongside Vichai and Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn of the Asia Football Investments Consortium and Makudi Worawi, the Thailand Football Association President, as a preview to Saturday's showpiece friendly at the Supachalasai Stadium. The City manager was clearly pleased to be back in Thailand, having toured with Manchester City during his spell as boss at Eastlands. "Thailand is a wonderful country with great, friendly people. Today is almost like coming home for me! However, tomorrow the work starts with training and I am looking forward to getting to know the players a little better and to preparing for Saturday's game. "I am delighted to be back in English football with Leicester City. We have a great challenge ahead of us, with the aim to reach the Premier League and we will do all we can to get there." Eriksson spoke to the assembled media, before rejoining his players at their training camp for the week, prior to returning to Bangkok for Saturday's showpiece friendly against the Thailand national team. The former England boss has been joined by his new assistant, Derek Fazackerley, as the Eriksson era begins to take shape. Sven, himself, was keen to point out that this trip would be beneficial in the team's preparation for their next competitive fixture, against Hull City in the npower Championship on Saturday October 16 at the Walkers Stadium. "I hope that Saturday's game is good and that there is a great deal of entertainment for the Thai football supporters. We will be working hard this week and even though we are grateful to the Thailand Football Association for this invite, we will be doing all we can to win the game." cc_star Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 If it's 6pm our time it'll be midnight when they kick off there, so probably not. Valid point, but I had heard it was a condition of the trip that our team wasn't going to change their bodyclock and were going to go to bed and eat at UK time, so as not to be completely fooked when they get back.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 That is the sh.ittest banner I have ever seen. Just looks like an over size novelty cheque. Can't believe people are whining about the trip tiring the lads out. The game is on the 9th and our next is the 16th. That is a whole week to the simpletons amongst you. I think we are going to struggle if we can't manage playing one game a week. I think that is generally accepted as a minimum requirement of any football team.

unreachable Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Are you sure that their not playing it at midnight and we are watching it at 6? http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/sports/197933/leicester-to-play-friendly-match-against-thailand It is definitely 6.00 pm Thailand local time. Thai time is 6 hours ahead of UK time. We usually see on TV the midnight fireworks in Sydney ahead of our midnight - that's how I remember the time zone difference in that part of the world.

Floridafox Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 this is all so bizarre You said it! Is this really happening to Leicester City?

BoneDog Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 I'm loving this Thai tour now, I don't think it will have an adverse effect on the lads. Svens face when he's looking at that lady in red! He's lovin it like a true playa. Can't wait for the match at the weekend.
cambridgefox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Once again Davie G,thanks for the research and post
Unabomber Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 This is all a bit mental, I just can't quite get my head around the whole situation. We had Sousa and were bottom of the league, now we have Sven and they are in a 5 star Thai hotel with flowers round their necks and sexy Thai babes to their sides. Standard LCFC.

h1210 Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Thai national team coach, Bryan Robson, has named a 22 man line-up for his all-star outfit Talk about parking the bus
Edmund Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 I've not noticed Moreno in any of the pics. Valid point, but I had heard it was a condition of the trip that our team wasn't going to change their bodyclock and were going to go to bed and eat at UK time, so as not to be completely fooked when they get back. I doubt this as it'll mean going to bed at 4:00 AM and getting up at 13:00 PM. It only takes two days to adjust properly to a new time zone.
