Ric Flair Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 The guys nearly 37 for fook sake! jesus! why do we sign these fooking hasbeens! we should have signed him 20 fooking years ago if we were gonna sign him but we were too busy bringing in shit! I wish this club would fooking sort out its transfer policy! You're absolutely right mate, Curtis Davies at 25 is way too old and Naughton best stop having birthdays as he's about 21 and not getting any younger.
Alexikokopops Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 No! They need to think it through more before approaching players, but their not, their just fooking diving in and it frustrates me Pires was playing and scoring in La Liga last year. And I'd hardly call the signing of Davies and Naughton not thinking and diving in Calm down, and trust in Sven. He's already pulled a couple of gems out the bag.
Philbert Fox Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 You gonna call the moan-in tonight for sure, then. Fooking grumpy old men. No I want to see my Club continuously improve, signing players who have had their day is npt the answer and the sooner the hierarchy realise that the **** better.

Hahaaa I can't stop picturing Sven sending Fazackerly bursting in to Top's office to request the latest 90's hero for us to sign.
Philbert Fox Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 No I feel Davies and Naughton were good signings, but Vassell isn't and Pires wouldn't be.
Alexikokopops Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 No I feel Davies and Naughton were good signings, but Vassell isn't and Pires wouldn't be. Then why are you getting so ridiculously outraged about the transfer policy? Sven obviously thought about Davies and Naughton, why are you so convinced that he's suddenly ignoring his previous policy and diving right in here with these two players? Especially since the Pires thing is just a rumour at the moment.
bettso Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 No I feel Davies and Naughton were good signings, but Vassell isn't and Pires wouldn't be. Do you not think it's a good idea to sign a blend of youth and experience? To be fair, at 30 Vassell is at an age for a striker where they are in their prime. When we signed Solano, it looked a bit dodgy because of his age but the influence that he had on the younger players was fantastic and this could be the same. N'Guessen needs to learn off someone in order to improve his game and who better?
stix Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 No I want to see my Club continuously improve, signing players who have had their day is npt the answer and the sooner the hierarchy realise that the **** better. Scholes Giggs Van der sar James Sheringham Ferdinand Cottee Cannavaro Nesta Maldini Beckham Henry Viera Need i go on?....
Koke Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 Would any of you say no to Ryan Giggs because he is 36? I don't think so.
Collier Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 Chris Powell was hardly a yoof when he signed, either, remember some sceptics when he signed, and the experience he bought to the team was priceless.
MC Prussian Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 No I want to see my Club continuously improve, signing players who have had their day is npt the answer and the sooner the hierarchy realise that the **** better. You will find out that Pires has actually held up pretty well over the years. Otherwise, why could he have had cracking seasons with both Arsenal and Villareal - and that at age 29 and above?
brookfox Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 He's played over 35 games for Villereal in each of the last three seasons. Despite his age this hardly suggests some has been who's legs have gone.
Chrysalis Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 He was good in his prime but I remember his last season with arsenal he was in decline and that was quite a few years back. Granted thats at a higher level but I wont be excited by this signing.
Kent Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 Do I need to read 6 pages to find some substance to this rumour or is it all up in the air as it stands? Anyone fancy saving me some time?

Guest shearfox Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 In talks with Crawley Town http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/crawley_town/9112362.stm Guess we aren't that interested then
h1210 Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 Very odd, must be more to it than is being let on.
stix Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 You have a dream and then the big boys come in and spoil it Ha ha!
Criggers Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 Maybe we don't want him because we're getting Shaun Wright-Phillips? I was going to make a new thread but it's probably bollocks and I would embarrass myself a lot by doing that so thought I'd stick it here. I've heard he's been spotted down the ground today. We can dream can't we?
