Bert Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 I don't really think that's an excuse. Surely people have had enough remembrance days to know that the minute's silence starts after the Last Post? Clearly didn't say it was an excuse. Was just helping clear things up a bit more.
Jay Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 everytime a minutes silence is done at a football match it's an invitation for idiots and almost everytime is a total embaressment. no matter what the situation it is hardly ever adhered obviously it may have been a misunderstanding to start with, but after that it was inevitable what would happen
Fosse Boy Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 Well I was dismayed when whoever it was started breaking it, but I was even more dismayed when whoever it was decided the best way to react was to RESPOND by chanting "Wankers!", breaking the silence themselves! Doesn't make you any more respectful than those who broke it. That said, if the players had no clue either then there probably should have been better communication from all sides. Must say I heard the instructions clearly a good two or three times, and I only got in the ground around 2.45.

Show dignity and be silent, even if others sing stay singing. When the minute is over show your displeasure. I too got in an 2:45 and the instructions couldn't be any clearer. Last post followed by minutes silence. There is no excuse for what happened, since 1945 it's been last post followed by silence. The singing of Engurland was equally cringeworthy, we remember the British Armed Forces and all fallen soldiers. I was and still am embarrassed to by a City fan on days like these,
Karljohn Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 Sorry but you have to be thick as pigshit to not follow that today, the last post, the gathering in the centre circle, what did L1 and Derby expect when one or two players broke away? 3 minutes of head tennis between Commons and Curtis Davies? First shout I heard came from L1 - a cry of Leicester, then those ignorant sheepshaggers joined in, 6 fingered inbred twats. Absolutely disgraceful and made worse by the fact we had HM Forces personnel at the stadium who must have thought "ignorant bastards"

mountsorrel fox Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 I agree with everything that's been said. But don't let this take away the great performance and result.
leicesterseddon Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 When will they finally use the minutes applause instead of silence, it would cut out this sort of nonsense. A minute's applause can be appropriate for remembering the life of a much-loved player at the club. etc. But not for Remembrance Sunday.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 I'll admit, I joined in with the Leicester chant. I didnt have a fooking clue what was happening, everyone around me was doing it. It's always a shambles. The fact of the matter, is the pre-match stuff is too congested. Helicopter Post Horn Gallop Last Post Minutes Silence Go mad Hey Jude I know its not much to remember, but I didnt have a clue. Most people come in the ground later too, so they wouldn't of heard the instructions. It was a cock-up by the club, I'm sure people will get over this. Bit daft by both sets of supporters by indivuals shouting stuff.
Guest Bilo Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 Really, really irritated me at the time but I'm not going to let it detract it from a great result.
Jay Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 A minute's applause can be appropriate for remembering the life of a much-loved player at the club. etc. But not for Remembrance Sunday. probably right, although you could say it was a way of showing you appreciation and gratitude for the effort and commitment shown by all those involved. But my main point is that a minutes silence is hardly ever a success in a football ground (if that's the right word) and is nearly always an invitation for people to embarass themselves and the club and it ends up being more disrespectful the respectful which is a shame

The last is post is always played before a minutes silence, anyone who has ever paid any attention to remembrance services will know this. It's only been going on for 91 years.

We're recognising sacrifice (more often than not a futile sacrifice). A football ground is no different to a high street. If you can't keep quiet for one minute then you need to take a long hard look at yourself.

Can't think for yourself then? It's always a shambles. The fact of the matter, is the pre-match stuff is too congested. Helicopter Post Horn Gallop Last Post Minutes Silence Go mad Hey Jude Pre match too congested? It happens once a year with the helicopter! I know its not much to remember, but I didnt have a clue. Most people come in the ground later too, so they wouldn't of heard the instructions. It was 3pm, everyone else bar L1 and Derby heard it, even those on the concourses. It was a cock-up by the club, I'm sure people will get over this. Bit daft by both sets of supporters by indivuals shouting stuff. It was a huge show of ignorance by you and Derby scum, and more than a bit daft to shout Engerland when our lads and lasses are putting their lives on the line whether they are from Leicester, London, Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast. Why not look up WW1, WW2, the Falklands next time your online.
stix Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 From N Block.... Post horn played, Post horn finshed and L1, N block and derby started chanting. Everyone told to shut up. Some dick at the top of N block shouted 'fooking sheep shaggers' after everything had gone quiet, It all kicked off. fooking disgusting behavior.
Corky Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 There was no need for it. The PA announcer quite clearly stated that the Last Post would be played, the referee would then blow his whistle to signal the start of the silence. A real shame that the minute wasn't observed silently.
Mee Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 It was a disgrace, everyone in that stadium has respect for everyone of our fallen heroes. No one would of meant for it to upset people, but someone must of understood, which them tumbled into a lot of people joining in. No one meant it dis-respectfully, so in my opinion, it should just be left alone, people gave their lives for our country, and we all, whatever happens, completely respect that.
red5 Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 No one died because of it, no wars were started because of it, no goals were scored because of it, it was a bit of a cock-up, get over it.

TheUltimateWinner Posted 13 November 2010 Posted 13 November 2010 Oh and btw, Just look at match of the day, every team could keep quiet apart from us. Bloody Embarasment
