Guest Bilo Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Another Left. Wing sicko. You have my sincere sympathy, for your affliction of being inferior. Were you born like this, or did it materialize in later life, my sad little chap? I've missed your input DT.
MikeyT Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 I don't really understand why people slag it off so much, but i also don't understand why people love it so much. Agreed.
purpleronnie Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Roo - it's just one of those garbage things commentators say to make the public feel better about themselves and that somehow the "Great" in Great Britain refers not only to its geographical meaning but also GB's standing in the world. Nah!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 well done to the pair of them. Proud to be British for a day at least
purpleronnie Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 well done to the pair of them. Proud to be British for a day at least Yeah this is all we have.
sdb Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Happy for anyone getting married but cannot understand the fuss. Look at the facts: 2 people you don't know getting married. 2 people you will never know, getting married. 2 people completely removed from reality, getting married. It's just not important in the scheme of things is it? Anyway, good luck to them. She is hot. Hotter than her sister who is apparently Carmen Electra and Megan Fox rolled into one, judging by the fuss being made over the net!
Fox1651 Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 well done to the pair of them. Proud to be British for a day at least Agreed Carlito
Fox1651 Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Really happy for them Really good for the country people nationwide are joining in the celebrations. Agreed
stripeyfox Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Agreed Yep. Agreed. I enjoyed it. True, I don't know them, and I never will. But why should I not rejoice? Far as I am concerned I'll leave the naysayers to their charmless day and enjoy the coming together. Cheers!

Thracian Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Oh Joy.... An austerity wedding. Something to cheer the nation up when everyone is being made redundant and sitting around watching Jeremy Kyle all day. The chance to wave a plastic union jack and say hurrah at all this unimaginable wealth. That'll make us forget the bonfire of jobs and make Austerity Britain delightfully jolly.... despite it all. Talk to your pals about where the jobs disappeared to and who got the ones that were left or created. And to your pals about their wonderful management of the economy for so many years - an where the gold went while you're at it. Looking at the coverage it's difficult to estimate how much money, tourism and goodwill across the world that "austerity" wedding created but I'd say it was considerable. And, from what I watched and what I've read, I'd say that, as potential representatives of our nation and our royal family - and probably as our King and Queen in the future - I'd take them over some Republican president any day and certainly anyone mirroring your miserable attitude. Good luck to them, I'd say, in their marriage, and in all that lies ahead for them. They seem like people to be proud of and have made a good start to married life by giving many of us a marvellous feeling of optimism and goodwill. Quite why anyone wants to wallow in sourness like you - even on a day for partying - I've no idea.

Thracian Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Fantastic to be British. Watching the Royal wedding on my Japanese TV Sitting on my Swedish sofa Drinking Belgian beer... Cant get more British than that Don't know about the telly and the sofa but there's nothing wrong with Belgian beer...although this guy sounded like he'd got too sweet a palate to be a beer drinker. Barbars is so slow and mellow it's a taste that lasts til morning. http://belgianbeershrimper.wordpress.com/2009/11/28/19-barbar-belgian-honey-ale/
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 It's just your opinion you can't be wrong, no matter how flawed and short sighted your opinion maybe, i just want to be enlightened as to why this wedding makes Britain Great? But if you prefer to keep your opinions to yourself in order to try and come off as the superior intelligent person, go ahead i don't know you and don't wish too. All this over a flipant comment that i assumed was a piss take, go ahead. Other people do read this and realise not once have you actually given an opinion, to back up your claim other than what is quoted above. But maybe it's just that i don't understand the british psyche and haven't quiet comprehended that the smallest things can stroke ones ego. Maybe he thinks like me. It does take a great occasion to bring together a million people in London alone. People become as one, and are proud to be to be British, rejoicing together in an historic event. It reflects the Wartime spirit that united this country in the dark days of World War Two. We have to spend so much of our time, as horrific events perpetually occur all over the world, and in this country too. Giving people an occasion such as today's, demonstrates that we love to celebrate as citizens of Britain, travelling from all over from all over the country to unite. That is what the Great in Britain represents.
Alexikokopops Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 They're entitled to their views, if they're not pro royal then fair enough. You sound like a religious type talking to an atheist <_< Or an atheist talking to a religious type...

That is what the Great in Britain represents. How is the wedding of two people, one BORN into unimaginable wealth, position and privilege and an unemployed girl, of whom you've never met and likely never to meet, a "great" occasion for you exactly? Bringing a million people together? Where has this million figure come from? The right wing media im guessing...plus London has a population of 7 and a half million (in a country of over 62 million) along with god knows how many tourists...if it was a million for the "wedding of a millennium" of our "beloved" royal family....isn't a million a little low? Doesn't the London Marathon draw similar crowds? Does being proud to be British mean having to swear unquestionable loyalty to the Windsors? Why can't I swear loyalty to any other family in this land instead? How are the Windsors better than the Jones's down the street? Why can't i sing "God save Great Britain"...instead of "God save the Queen"? Im guessing the only uniting this country did this weekend was uniting and going on holiday/doing something better with their precious time, apart from the right-wing boot licker drones of course
broughtonblue Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Brilliant day, Thracian, Dangerous tiger, and anyone else who enjoyed the event, think we are lucky to appreciate what we have. As for the others, it must be a very sad life if you can't enjoy a day of national importance
Thracian Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 How does this make Brittan Great? Well I'd say one day of William and Katherine did more to help the concept of Britain's greatness than the entire administrations of Blair and Brown put together. As in: Great for creating an atmosphere. Great for uplifting most who watched. Great for its ceremonial dignity Great for its royal folklore. Great for its royalty-created tourism Great for its historical settings Great for staging such an extraordinary party Great at getting international interest and admiration.. Great for countering the idea of a colourless Republic Great for hundreds of businesses on the day Great for its sheer spectacle. Great for creating the seeds of goodwill across the world Great for bringing people together. Great as a source of hope Great for all those who played a part. Great for our sense of nationhood. If you want some more I'm sure there are plenty of things I've omitted.

Dam i didn't realise, awfully sorry and all that If only one of them got married every single day the Chinese wouldn't stand a chance against our rediscovered might!
ScouseFox Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 I was loving BBC's comments about how brilliant it was there was people of all ages there, and how great it was that so many kids had turned up. As if these 7 year olds had chosen to go. Pretty boring day, all abit over the top really.

I too am unemployed now, if that makes you feel better. You are obviously have a chip on your shoulder, and can't bear to see people better off than yourself. Another Left winged loonie, who has no national pride. You are of course entitled to your opinion, but you appear to be a very sad person, and naive also. The figure of 1,000, 000 came from the BBC, but I suspect there were more. Two BILLION viewers world wide. I shan't waste any more time responding to your childish posts, I've got better things to do, little girl.

Oh dear, your a little upset, i get that but the childish insults are little uncalled for if i may say so. First off i am certainly not unemployed, secondly if my "chip on my shoulder" and my "left wing loonie-ness" is due to my belief that i believe all men should be born equal and then be judged and rewarded based on their merit and achievements in life then yes, i am bloody well proud of it sir. If you want to sit on the right side of the fence and cling to the belief that every Windsor is instantly greater, more worthy, and deserving to rule over you the second they come from between more divine legs than your own mothers than so be it.
vandamman Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Where was Gazza with his chicken, fishing rod and dressing gown? Suprised there were no hitches, although, I was sure at one point I saw a horse riding around without anyone riding it! A great event, don't come around that often just enjoy, even though the coverage was cringey.
