marko Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Where was Gazza with his chicken, fishing rod and dressing gown? Suprised there were no hitches, although, I was sure at one point I saw a horse riding around without anyone riding it! A great event, don't come around that often just enjoy, even though the coverage was cringey. You did!!! Loose horse
Jackirius Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Fvck the cynics you're boring. Great day. Here ye
Alexikokopops Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Fvck the cynics you're boring. Great day. Did you make it into town? I was too afraid of the masses
sdb Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Fvck the cynics you're boring. Great day. Bit strong, surely it's down to personal opinion? I get bored at weddings all the time, and that's for people I know!
Guest Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Wasn't really fussed personally but I don't begrudge those who go to town (literally or otherwise) for the occasion. Can also see the benefits listed by others in this thread. In all fairness I'd been at work since 4.30am so the last thing I wanted to do was sit watching the coverage for the rest of the day once I'd finished at 12.
ozleicester Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Just back from the day. A truly spectacular event and a demonstration of some of the things that actually do make Britain GREAT. Not particualarly a royalist but this was a superb event and around us in the crowd were tens of thousaned of people from arund the world, who, like us injected a good deal of money into the british economy simply because we knew it would be an event. In the time i have been back in the UK its the first time i have been able to see the British people actually feeling confident and positive, an atmosphere of friendlyness, happiness and positivity for the future. Stupendous day, brilliantly organised, superbly implemented. PS, thanks to the example shown by the FTers toward stewards, i was also able to enjoy some banter with a Hi-vis wearing nutter who felt it was his job to stop me seeing the event
FoxyPV Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Absolute bollocks Glad to see British identity and its success/failure is hinged on something so important. Give the ConDems a bit more time Thrac and they'll definitely outdo B+B. BTW L44ry fucking hates Nu Labour (I'll join him in that).
BoneDog Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Did we pay for all this pomp then? Or did they take it out of the 40 odd million we give them each year (that we know about), or was it paid for out of the other hundreds of millions they make from their worldwide businesses? Just wondering before anyone says I'm being a killjoy and I've also been out and about today and had a right laugh so I haven't sat at home all day feeling bitter or anyding.
Webbo Posted 29 April 2011 Author Posted 29 April 2011 To all the cynics, did all your misery and disgust make you happy today? I missed the wedding today because I had to work but you could feel the happiness just from the coverage on the radio. Lighten up and just enjoy life for once.

I do enjoy life but i don't see what the royal wedding has to do with that. It's just a wedding between two people i don't know or care about, why should i get excited about it? Best part of today was powerplay being nearly empty so i could abuse their closing down sale, getting some Ou Est Le Swimming Pool albums > Royal Wedding.
BoneDog Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 The best part for me Al was chips n curry on a tray with loads of vinegar. Marvelous.
The Doctor Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 The best part for me Al was chips n curry on a tray with loads of vinegar. Marvelous. choice! Chips and Curry Sauce is beaut. Had that + a cheese and Onion pasty for dinner.
Webbo Posted 29 April 2011 Author Posted 29 April 2011 Chips and curry sauce is delightful. I've had some beer and a cigar tonight and I'm feeling kinda mellow.
stripeyfox Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Chips and curry sauce is delightful. It is hard to dispute this.

I work in Covent Garden and if you see the amount of shot that's been pedalled recently I reckon it's paid for itself

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 That should be your motto. You really are a fair simpleton......please don't ever breed

Pleased you enjoyed the great occasion. Well done. Sadly some people are determined to be ante British, and jealous of those of us who celebrated.

Sadly some people are determined to be ante British, and jealous of those of us who celebrated. See there you go again, yes or no, are you honestly saying that you CANNOT be proud to be English or British if you do not support the idea of having a monarchy in the 21st century?
