The people who were around for the European successes , generally at least, don't tend to use it to beat others around the head with it. It's the Forest fans my age and younger, who weren't even swimming around in their dads' bollocks when Forest were successful, that seem to think it entitles them to be seen as the East Midlands Real. It's the arrogance that puts Forest ahead of Derby on my dislike list, that and the sense of entitlement.
ramboacdc Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 derby hate us more than forest. after working in derby AND nottingham i can say that honestly. i personally hate forest because ive always seen their fans as stuck up and relying on their past triumphs to make people believe they are some force to be reckoned with. yes winning the european cup is amazing well done but in them days you didnt need some arab to strike oil and invest all the money he makes into your club to do so. the best ones from last year have to be before the 5-1 game i was getting told that they do not class us as rivals at all from their fans. afterwards they were ringing in radio nottingham saying "its good to beat your rivals" and saying the same to me. we beat them 3-0 and their first response was either "we are not your rivals" or "we still beat you 5-4 on aggeragate." WHO THE fook CARES ABOUT AGGERAGATE?! no one in the history of the planet has had a weaker arguement than that (apart from possible bill clinton.) anyway ive strayed off. midlands derby in my eyes. derby is more of a rivally than forest but they are still up there. also..coventry?! pff
Corky Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 For me because of the "famous team" stuff your fans were giving us at both games last season. Naturally you want to beat these massive clubs as it's a big day out and huge result for us minnows. In any case, Derby is a bigger match for me.

The younger ones think they were once Real Madrid.

The famous team thing is a hangover from our League one days when every week without fail we'd get the "you're not famous anymore" thing. So in the words of most 8yr old boys.....they started it!

Even went as far as to try and report our fans for "throwing stuff at their mini vans" as they left, when in actual fact it was them throwing glass bottles at the city fans as they drove off. I don't dislike the reasonable forest fans, 90% of their away support seem to be people looking for trouble though.

iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 I don't mind Forest too much, had a spell at the club a few years back and so i guess thats why really. Although I agree they all seem to wanna fight all the time. As for Derby, don't really like them, no particular reason. I think we should hate Coventry the most, in terms of distance, it is one of the closest games in the country.. why they dont hate us and we dont hate them i'll never know. Also living in Hinckley (No mans land inbetween) although its classes as Leicestershire there is probably a 60-40% divide in Leicesters favour. However the majority of the fans that support them are weird. Walking around there place earlier in the year, I've never seen such a set of Inbred looking people.
