LEICESTER CITY

The Foxes travel to Watford on Saturday on the back of an impressive 1-0 victory over rivals Nottingham Forest.

City dominated the game at the Walkers Stadium on Monday, despite the visitors having the brighter start. Forest's best chance in the game came mid-way through the first half, when a Curtis Davies header fell to Rob Earnshaw, but Chris Weale was alert to save the shot.

Darius Vassell nearly opened his account for the club, but his effort was cleared off the line by Luke Chambers.

Vassell had a major role to play for the match winning goal, when he superbly took the ball past three Forest defenders in the box before then squaring the ball for Andy King to tap home.

The win moved the Foxes up to 14th position in the npower Championship table, just five points away from the play-off zone.

Sven-Goran Eriksson will be looking for his team to bring all three points back to the Walkers Stadium on Saturday and build on the dominant display against Nottingham Forest.

WATFORD

After a solid start to the campaign, Watford have fallen away from the chasing pack somewhat and are currently winless in the last six, drawing three and losing three.

Their last outing was a goalless draw away to Barnsley. In a game that the home side dominated, Watford were lucky to come away with a point after the tykes hit both posts and had numerous good chances to take all three points from the visitors.

Malky Mackay will be looking for his side to return to winning ways sooner rather than later to prevent being sucked into a relegation battle.

7-0. Someones gonna get it!

In all seriousness 3-nil I reckon. Watford haven't won in 7, we're the form team. If we want to be climbing the table 3 points should be a given.

C'mon City :chant:

Watford low on self confidence and we're coming together.

I can easily see a 5-0 victory today....... :scarf:

loving your style. Maybe a 1-0 again i think , with vassell getting his first.:scarf:

Leicester have had 258 attempts on goal this season, and 131 have been on target. On both counts, that is the highest in the division. Only 24 goals scored out of 131 on target shots.

So looks like it might be 1 nil! - From a corner!

I was optimistic before the away game against Bristol City, who were lacking form at the time. We were due a win on the road, the game finished 2-0 for the Brizzle.

Now - Watford away, the same scenario? We're performing at the Walkers, but fail to accumulate the much-needed points on the road in order to make it to the upper half of the table.

Given the equilibrium in this division this season, we need to come up with the goods for once when playing away from home.

3-1 Leicester.

For me it's no longer about ability but about self-belief and ruthlessness.

We need to go out for 90 minutes with the same attitude we had second half against Forest.

We stiffled their attacks off at source and attacked with conviction. We're making chances like Mr Kipling makes cakes but we're so careless about getting the shots on target. It's not about ability but about focus and philosophy.

Gallagher is typical. Brilliant technique but he always wants to hammer the ball instead of fixing his mind on getting over the ball and hitting the target.

Like others I thought we'd trounce Bristol City so our organisation and attitude is so important. But our clean sheet against Forest might have helped. I'll go for a 2-1 win.

Glad we haven't got the players that didn't have the energy to play well in the game - under Sousa by not training much because as with Watford having youngsters in their team, they will have good energy levels.

Team unchanged from the Forest game.

Weale,naughton,davies,hobbs,cunningham,king©,wellens,abe,gallagher,vassell,bednar.

Get ready for some shaky moments from weale today, having a shocker of a warm up so far.
