I was banned from the last general news thread for an incredibly innocuous post where I just said something like “I wonder what would’ve happened if the wind rush scandal had broken now” 

 

There is definitely a filter in certain key words though.

 

I don’t think Raj should be banned for having that avatar at all btw.

The issue is HPF that forum members at the other end of the political spectrum ARE that petty, and so only my end of the spectrums posts get deleted. Bare in mind that those on the left feel their opinion is not only ‘holier than thou’ but also of the more “intelligent” persuasion. Surely they should use their considerable intelligence advantage over me by countering what I say, rather than hitting the report button. 
 

I’ve had it where my replies to condescending semi personal posts at myself have been deleted, but not the original post that started it.

 

I care not what anyone says, this forum has a bias moderating ‘policy’

On another note - trying to cut down on doomscrolling. Are there any devices where you can listen to music/podcasts and get emails or messages but can’t really scroll online so I can leave my phone at home and not tempted by the doom scroll?

I'm sorry fella, but I'm banned from General, I've lost count of those members that generally share my views that have been banned or left the forum. 

 

I've been the victim of exactly just what you said, and although I sympathise with the inconsistency, what you do (and I acknowledge that I do the same at times) is post in a very provocative manner. I just had a 2 day ban for that very reason (which I was fine with). 

 

Please don't play the victim, it doesn't suit you.

I think it’s only human nature that people want to know what their ban is for.  I am banned from gen news and I can only guess that it might have been a Charlie Kirk related post, which since I bit my tongue on it, was a lot milder than I had in mind.  Ultimately, of course in the grand scheme of things it’s not particularly important.
