Ric Flair Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 If he'd stayed much longer here, I've no doubt he'd have deteriorated even more so than he did in August through to October of this season. He's not Sven's cup of tea and he proved to be an absolute windmiller under Sousa. I liked him and he was a good prospect for the future but his mistakes this season and our ambition suggests it's an amicable seperation. He's been a good egg by and large. Cheers Michael, all the best with Sheffield Weds.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Hope we got a decent whack and I hope Samba is better quality. Not that I ever thought that Morrison was particularly poor, he will do well at the Owls.
wurmer Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Hope we got a decent whack and I hope Samba is better quality. Not that I ever thought that Morrison was particularly poor, he will do well at the Owls. Stringer reckoned £250K yesterday, but who knows.
MC Prussian Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Neat piece of business for Sheffield Wednesday. At this age and with his League One experience, a win-win situation. At £250k, quite a bargain. Give him a steady run in the starting eleven and he'll be a stalwart in defense. He was a bit of a hit and miss phenomenon for us this season, lacking confidence made him prone to silly mistakes in the box. All the best with the Owls.
Maybes Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Shame to lose him to be honest. He will be a cracking signing for Wednesday. Hopefully Sven has got some centre half demon lined up...
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 A good move for him, Sheff weds are a decent club, Mandaric not with standing and he'll soon be back in the Championship I've no doubt. My thoughts too. Shame we're letting him go, thought he was a useful player.
STUHILL Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Hopefully we get a percentage of any future move as he could be worth million or so in few years. Good defender for us but not quite good enough for where we want to be. If it was 250k then looks like straight swap for Bamba. Lets hope Sven has got this one right
Jonezy Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Dammit, I really like Morrison. All the best Morro and thanks for putting in a great shift here at Leicester. Feels like the team has lost some of its identity with the departures of Fryatt and now Morrison.
eastendfox Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Annoyed with this to be honest. It's good to see players develop with us, and even if he wouldn't have been in my first team, he's a great asset to the squad, as shown by the last two games. I know we've got a big squad and probably looking to trim, but there are a lot worse. Can't we cheat and send them Lamey instead? Good luck to him anyway.
Mack Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 The transfer says more about Morrison than LCFC. I can see why Berner wants out, he is no spring chicken and wants to play as much as possible before retirement, but Morrison is at the other end of his career and has it all to prove. With Sven and the new owners what better place to stay and prove you are worthy of a first team starting place in a team that seems to be going places and is getting plenty of media interest due to the man at the helm. He obviously feels taking a step back to go forward hopefully as a regular in the Wednesday team is a better option for him. I hope for his sake he doesn't have one of his calamitous performances early on and damage his prospects in the process.
Master Fox Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Ha! Great news. Absolute dog shit of a player. Glad he's gone. Nice to see Sven getting rid of the turd. Only way is up now. Bravo!
Braunyfox Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Do the fans want the team to move forward or not. Morrison ok but not QUALITY ... distribution awful
Haydos Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Good deal for him and Weds. Didn't look like he was going to feature in the near future here. Been a good lad for the club though. Good luck to him
Donatello Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 silly decision to sell, good luck to the lad. After two good performances, and no financial need to sell him it doesn't really make sense. Let's just hope Sven doesn't make us regret that.
Haydos Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 After two good performances, and no financial need to sell him it doesn't really make sense. Let's just hope Sven doesn't make us regret that. He was clearly told he wasn't part of first team plans and wanted to move on. People need to wake up and realise it isn't just Sven's choice whether to keep a player or not.
broughtonblue Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Thought he was a decent player, if naughton goes he was my choice for right back. Oh well bring on neilson instead!
Petchy Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Just saw his interview on Wednesday Player.. he didn't look too thrilled but did the usual 'great to join a massive club'.
Captain... Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 I sometimes wonder if younger players like Morrison and Gradel would have been more inclined to stick around and develop further if they had been playing reserve team football. We now have Sol Bamba and Mee. As I see it we have Hobbs and Bamba at CB with Mee as back up, then Vitor and Tunchev when they are fit. A shame to see Morrison go, especially with Davies going back to Villa he probably would have had a few more games, but I guess his mind was made up a while ago when he wasn't getting a look in and Sven probably knew that hence the signings of Bamba and Mee. Morro was a good squad player to have and a good goal threat but nothing more than solid at Champ level. Although by him going it leaves us with Nielsen at RB if we can't sign Naughton. Good luck Morro

ajthefox Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Disappointed to see him go, has done well for us over the past couple of seasons and it's a shame to see -or not as the case may be- another leave through the back door. I know Morrison was welcome to stay and fight, but it does annoy me a little that our squad is becoming full of new recruits. We should be building on past success, not assembling a completely new team.
Swalker Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 A massive loss. One of the most underrated players in our squad. Fast, young, great in the air and no nonsense when it comes to clearing. Good luck morrison
carterfox90 Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 we saw how useful he was at corners last week as he was causng problems & his header gave vassel his goal & he looked more beefier in defense than before will be a good player for wednesday good luck to the lad
