Fox in a Box Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 http://www.swfc.co.u...2260609,00.html Sheffield Wednesday have signed defender Michael Morrison from Championship club Leicester City for an undisclosed fee. Morrison has penned a three and a half year contract at Hillsborough and is Alan Irvine's second new recruit of the January transfer window following the capture of Plymouth Argyle's Reda Johnson.
cc_star Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Our OS has confirmed it too, on Twitter http://twitter.com/#!/OfficialFOXES/status/23332511929077760 Michael Morrison has today joined Sheffield Wednesday for an undisclosed fee. See www.lcfc.com for full story.
Unit Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Shame really, even without being part of our plans he could've easily stayed in the championship.
MrSpaM Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Really hope we wont regret this, time for our new signings to proove they can do the buisness. Good luck to the lad, always rated him whilst he's been here, played a key role in getting us back where we belong too
cc_star Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Decent player, should of stayed. A worthy addition to our squad, especially as he can play CB & RB, and given his age he will get better, shame he'll be doing that for someone else now I can only assume Naughton will be completed today else it leaves us very light against ManCity on Sunday
Babylon Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 silly decision to sell, good luck to the lad. It's not silly if he wanted to go.
davieG Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 A good move for him, Sheff weds are a decent club, Mandaric not with standing and he'll soon be back in the Championship I've no doubt.
muzzy1981 Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Lets hope Sol alala Bamba will be the business then!
FoxyPV Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Best of luck to him - I would prefer he didn't go.
Wymsey Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Yet again the team is unsettled, our main problem this season.
Dezzee Rascal Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Nice to see a group of fans not turning on a player and deciding he's shit once he's moved on, as is uaually the case. Hope we appreciate him as much as you lot obviously do. Good luck against City, for the rest of the season, and especially when you play the Blades! (It would be sweet if Naughton was a permananent Leicester player by then - that would really wind them up)
MPH Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Regular footy in the 1st dividion could be just what he needs. i would of liked to keep him and think Wednesday have got a real steal here. To capture a young defender who was more than holding his own against some championship teams is really something for an aspiring 1st division team. Give him 15 consecutive games and whatch him flourish, Good luck to the lad
Corky Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Got good value out of him for two years and I hope he does well at Wednesday.
okie fox Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 A good signing for Sheffield Wednesday. Don't ever see him being more than an average defender at our level. But he was a threat at corners. Hope Bamba is also.
wurmer Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Wish him all the best, if had made his mind up to go, glad he ended up at Sheff Weds. Hope we get Naughton sorted today.
The Padster Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Yet again the team is unsettled, our main problem this season. Considering he's not really been a main force in the defence this year it's hardly more unsettling than it already was.
Babylon Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Sure to become a hit with the female Wednesday fans when they see his mighty appendage. Good luck Morro and schlong.
Kitchandro Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Did well for us considering he came from non-league. Think he is a decent squad player but if we're aiming for the Premiership it's no great loss. All the best to him.
Hitesh Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 See you later alligator. Could have done with having around for cover but fair play if he wants first team football then no point having someone sulking around on bench.
drc Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 I don't think Sven wanted Morrison to go necessarily and not Berner. But we must have palyers that are ready to sit on the bench too. Just because they're good we can't play them if someone better is at the team just because the say I leave if I'm not in the starting 11. Everybody has their chance to prove themselves. Our ambition is to get up in teh PL therefor we need to stengthen when we have money available for that. We also need a strong bech and backup, and if players not up for that then they have to move on but it's not the managers fault really, Look at Man U for example (I know it's a bit silly comparision but anyway) they have people on the bench for years even if they easily could be in the starting 11 for other teams but they stay on and eventually if they're good enough they'll taste the feeling to be in the staring 11 in a great (but dirty) team.
