Soar Fox Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 I must say while the thoughts of players like the Yak and Given at City is great. throwing money at short term options is not really a great way to build for the future. I believe we are paying most of The Yaks reported £50000 a week wages and Given is thought to be on £70000 a week, thats a shit load of money being spent in 6months But if we gain promotion from it the money we would get is far greater.
billyfox1 Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 The page has been removed. Maybe they aren't taking bets on it anymore? link is working again now. Still 5/4 fovourites though. Was that green icon saying loans do not count there last night??
Greg2607 Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 I appreciate that the likelyhood of getting Shay Given is slim, despite the bookies odds! but just out of interest, with us also being linked with the likes of SWP and Johnson as well as already having Mee on the books, is there a limit as to the number of loan players you can have from any one club? (and please dont give any smart arse answers about the total number of loan players we are allowed!!)

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Forgive the server load, I'll be checking this thread every 2mins all day. Shay Given could walk into any Premier League squad and probably 80%+ of starting 11's - If he came here it would be the biggest thing since some some bloke fed thousands of people with five fishes and a loaf of bread I have it on good authority that 'bloke' was Jesus, and we're looking to sign him on a five year deal to play of the right! Thats right, Jesus is right wing, who would have thought it?

RizLCFC Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 If Given signs he will without doubt be the best keeper in this league...would love for this to happen! I know Weale is doing ok and its a tad unfair on him to have the no.1 shirt taken away, but he isn't immune to making errors and I wouldn't say he's improved on last seasons performances.
Greg2607 Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Would do anything for a Bert "clue" right now!!!
escos Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Would do anything for a Bert "clue" right now!!! One down: : 4 letters sounds like hurt.
WillyP Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Would do anything for a Bert "clue" right now!!! He has this thread!
Jackirius Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 I mean Weale is an alright keeper, but that is all he will ever be really, he wont be premiership standard, he hasn't got the ability to pull off that odd stunning save. When watching him I am always get a bit edgey when a save comes his way, he doesn't fill me with much confidence. I think a top quality keeper will be a must if we are to progress up the league.
Babylon Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 He has this thread! Bert doesn't always post information, people shouldn't take things like this as a definite hint towards something happening. I'm not saying it's not, but can people read too much into things he posts. Sometimes the lad can't have an opinion on something without people thinking there is another meaning to it.

I was able enough to discern the fact that Bert posting a thread around Skybet was more about generating debate than about giving us a cast iron "this is happening!!" Hence why I would love to see if he had managed to do more digging today. Thankfully Babylon you would seem to share a similar appraisal of the situation! BUT PLEASE GOD LET IT BE TRUE!!!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Well he's pretty good with crosses. i'll get my coat. I can't beleive 3 people have plus 1'd this and I get nothing for the original right wing Jesus gag - you lot are rubbish! (although I was one of the plus 1'ers Large Al )
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Doesn't he play for Sevilla? Smart arse! http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12875_6668062,00.html Seems he may no longer be coming
Guest Mee-9 Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Heard that Given will be a Leicester player in the next few days. After tomorrows game, be it permanent or just a loan.

Mickey O'Neil Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 I thought this one was dead and buried a few days ago when he said he wouldn't drop down a league. I refuse to accept he's coming.

I refuse to accept he's coming. it depends what Mancini tells him, He could say go on loan to Leicester for the season then i'll let you go to Celtic in the summer? Could happen.
Christoph Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 But why would he not just sell him to Celtic now if thats the case? I dont see it happening but then Sven and Mancini got abit of ole football manager parent club loving going on, so you never no
