Richard Keys & Andy Gray

Getting beyond a joke really.

Its no different to Richard and Jamie going down the boozer and having a conversation about some bird serving behind the bar. Its not as if they did it while broadcasting.

Richard Keys might be a Cov fan, but what a LAD. Great banter.

The thing is though, he's not down the pub. He's the face of Sky Sports football coverage and whether he likes it or not if he's seen saying that kind of thing it gives Sky a bad image that they're clearly not going to want. It's part of being any tv company's chief presenter.

The thing I have a problem with is the way it's coming out. It's clearly a disgruntled employee (which by the sounds of it is everyone at Sky apart from those two) who wants to see the back of Keys. It's making his position more and more untenable through things he's said off air.

He's still creepy, mind.

Macca is one of the few decent pundits.

Bollocks to that!

His 'punditry' (I don't think you can even call it that) for our match at Man City was atrocious.

Well I didnt see that, but from what people were saying on here it seemed like his only crime was perhaps over-emphasising the gap in wealth/quality between the two teams. Something that pretty much anyone will have done.

Usually he's pretty insightful, affable and entertaining without being wacky/mundane. Tactically he knows what he's on about and has a good knowledge of the world game.

Each to their own though.

I find/found him mundane and dull. For me, he offers no extra insight to what any person in the public would see anyway. There's no extra analysis or thoughts going on. To me, if he doesn't see it, he won't know about it. He states the obvious too much and I find him plain :/

Bored of the Andy Gray rimming now. No-one loved him this much whilst he was in a job.

Massey ran the line in our game vs preston and I seem to remember her doing ok.

Personally I want the best officials officiating our matches be the men or women and if that means a woman referee then I don't care as long as she is the best person for the job and judging by the incompetent morons we often seem to get I don't doubt they could do a better job.

What got me wasn't so much what they said but the clearly derisive tone in which it was said. It clearly wasn't a joke. To those who say women shouldn't be part of the men's game then just go on beliveing that the world is flat. I'm afraid you just have to accept that actually some women are better at things than some men and fully deserve their chance. I can't beleive some of the opinions on here, someone even suggested that women wouldn't be able to be fit enough to keep with play etc; well I hope they could run a marathon as quick as Paula Radcliffe or be as good at the heptathlon as Jessica Ennis because I sure know I couldn't.

Gray just epitomised the macho approach to football reporting which Sky has brought to the table, funny how they don't employ any ugly male bastards like me to read the sports news. The sad thing for me is that they did nothing about this until it was exposed in the open for some reason, Gray appears like he may be a serial sexist and I can't beleive these were the only times this sort of thing went on. A one off comment said in a humorous tone is one thing but a regular diatribe of such stuff isn't acceptable in any workplace and is why he had to go.

Bread- this would appear to back up your belief that someone had it in for Gray.

Apologies about the link on my ipod

Hmmmmm.

So you're suing the News of the World (Murdoch owned)

You feel you've been sitched up in losing your job at Sky Sports (Murdoch owed)

I can see when he might think something fishy went on! Lets just hope Andy's lawyer isn't female :giggle:

I find this whole Murdoch thing odd.

As much as I'd love to believe this is a conspiracy, the man is worth BILLIONS of pounds. The Andy Gray lawsuit probably won't have even featured on his radar.

I couldn't really care, I love people getting wound up by it though.

Don't think I haven't seen you in your Richard Keys mask and back wig, weeping into your "Take a bow son" limited edition Abdy Gray beaker.

I bet the Loose Women are shitting their crabby knickers after all this given the amount of man bashing that goes on on their show.
