Part Of The Crowd Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Hamann in talks with Leicester. If you want any info he's too past it to play unless you're against a team backing off and defending deep. He's done alright as a coach, helped our discipline a bit and got us playing some neat passing but movement off the ball seems to have gone quite a bit since he joined.

Good player in his Liverpool days, up and coming coach should also have some good contacts within the game. I like it.
blueredswed Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Sven knows Hamann and he also knew what he can afford He is little old but a very good playmaker in the middle (or perhaps he was)? Well lets look at him
Part Of The Crowd Posted 2 February 2011 Author Posted 2 February 2011 If he signs for you it won't be as a player.
Darkon84 Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Yea im guessing he will be filling Powell's coaching boots, not playing at all.
Captain... Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Would be a good mentor for King, can't see him pulling his boots on for us though, although he is arguably better than Oakley
StanSP Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 DIDDY! Will bring good coaching credentials and definitely contacts!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Cant do any harm having him here as a coach.
RizLCFC Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Would make a good coach for First Team or Reserves, we knew Sven would replace Chrissy P and if he believes Diddy is the man then so be it. We could be playing friendlies v Bayern Munich/Werder Bremen reserves in the future who knows.... IN SVEN WE TRUST!
Edmund Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 I Dietmar Hamann's Scouse/German accent. I reckon he'll be a quality coach. Everytime I've seen him doing punditry on tv, you can see he's very passionate about the game. Reckon King will thrive under his guidance. This could be a masterstroke by Sven.
Guest shearfox Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Coach seems like a good move, He will have good contacts and obviously has a wealth of experience our younger players can draw from.
Cheese Me Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Stringer: IanStringerBBC 'It seems there is indeed some mileage in the MK News story that Didier Hamann is to join #lcfc as a coach. Will know more tomorrow'
Corky Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Top player, could pass on useful experience to King.
ScouseFox Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 I met him in Sainsbury's once. He was nice. For this Reason, I approve.
Fatbloke Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Would be a good mentor for King, can't see him pulling his boots on for us though, although he is arguably better than Oakley The same Oakley who`s fantastic goal line clearance got us 3pts at Bramhall Lane ????
Guest BlueBrett Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 I reckon he'll be a quality coach. Everytime I've seen him doing punditry on tv, you can see he's very passionate about the game. I agree. He was definitely the most knowledgeable and astute pundit that I saw on this country's world cup coverage (arguably not much of an achievement but still..) and I reckon he'll probably still have enough fitness to get involved in the odd training session Gus Poyet style which can only help him learn about the boys and give quality feedback to Sven. I'd be very happy if this happened.
MC Prussian Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Cricket fan - upon retirement, can enjoy the time off with the county league. The new Chris Powell - player coach for one season?
drc Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Sven tried to get Hamann to Notts County, probably as a player but with a view to start up coaching, Hamann, however, didnt' want to go there. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Dietmar-Hamann-reveals-Notts-County-talks-article119529.html
Ric Flair Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 I have no idea what his coaching credentials are like, but I reckon based on the way he performed on the football pitch and the sense that he talked in interviews he has every chance of being a great coach. Learn off the best in Sven and then take over as manager in a few years when Sven bows out when we've got a top 6 place in the Premiership.
samjohnson Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Still not forgiven him for ruining my day at Wembley's last game...! But on a serious note, I think he will be a decent coach. Just filling in where Chrissy P left off. Conrad now has a new friend!!
FanofFilbert Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 I met him in Sainsbury's once. He was nice. For this Reason, I approve. Me too, I believe he had a house in woolton village...very nice!
